AlexMieza-thanks yur beautiful video.plse tell when is the good time to visit Wudang to watch some of these kungfu and taichi training?is there a tour agency at the city towards Wudang that conducts such tours and stay there fro 2/3 days? Thanks , tell me if you know, I appreciate!
First know what are they doing, then go critisize. They are only doing traditional forms here - Tiger taming fist and Xuangong fist, Wudang Xuanmen Sword and Wudang Xingyi. The jump is in the Xuangong Fist form itself and high kicks are trademark of Wudang pai.
why does shaolin and wudang look like they added so much wushu stuff into their curriculum? or is this really how the forms look like traditionally? I mean were no hand cartwheels and jump kicks and stuff like that really used in trad forms
wudang is one of the oldest. I practiced for 1 month this november. Modern wushu, the competitional gymnastic to which I think you are referring are the ones made from old ones, not th other way around. And in Wudang Kungfu you do 3 months of "basics of wushu" meaning the basics of chinese martial arts, the basic kicks and jump kick is included.
Shaolin teach everything today - and have a nationalist side - both ancient ant modern styles including foreign martial arts
In Ancient tradition you would train your body completely so yeah you had to do cartwheels, gainer kicks, flips, 720's but then eventually that was replaced with normal people just doing forms to show they "knew" kung fu while only monks mainly trained for real. But recently all that stuff has come back cuz it looks "cool".
