  • I won't lie, even with my 17+ years of being an Electrician, there are times when I have to walk away from the problem, and just THINK about it.. At times it becomes one of those deals where you can't SEE the Forest because the Trees are in the way.. As I watched this video, I was not sitting here screaming for you to check your main battery terminal so, it was not clear to me either. Sending you a PM in a few minutes..

  • @vidman008 I would have never thought in a million years it would have been the positive cable either. You're absolutely right Ron..Sometimes you do have to just sit back and "think" about it at times.

I got your PM. Thanks again Ron!

  • I would have never thought to check that terminal..... send me the beer, ill drink it lol heck send me a mickeys, cant get 40's this time of year :(

  • @More350Power I would have never thought the main power would have been the problem either. I had power throughout the entire system. I think because the break in the wire, when you apply the power, thats what caused the voltage drop. I'm just glad it was that! LOL!! An accidental find is always a good thing.

My neighbor ended up taking the beer. But I'll send ya a Mickey's 40 if ya want man! I still have to send Luna7ick a 40...Ughhhhhh

    Thanks much bud!

  • Good work Matt. Most all these old machines need a completely new wiring job right from the get-go. That's what I am doing right now. :)

  • @TheSaturnV Thanks bud! Thats why I initially decided to do a complete tear down of my Suburban. Plus, it needed to be re-done.

I'm looking forward to seeing your vids man!

  • @mbyr31 Suburbans are just about the most straight-forward garden tractors out there for tear down and restoration. Looking forward to your progress.

  • Cool man. Now your getting some-where.

  • @IHcubcadet Finally! Now maybe I can actually try to start it! LOL!

    Thanks man

  • Nice Matt! You're getting her chased down now. You're Buddy must owe you 40 hours labor on this project lol

  • @edzgarage I've got time in it, thats for sure! But most of it is all learning. I've never been opposed to learning, even stuff you think you already know!

    Thanks much Ed!

  • i knew you would get her whipped :)

  • @500passwords The problem can run, but it can't hide! :)

    Thanks 500!

  • it look like theres a whole load of corroded and loose connections there that at some time will need checking and fixing as time goes on.

  • @chox2001 There are a lot of loose and corroded connections. Thats why I said this is by no means the end of it, nor does it solve all the problems. I still have some work ahead of me, but at least THAT issue was resolved...AND, I learned something very important from all this too! I would have never thought it would have been what it was.

    Thanks much bud!

  • Its always the simple things...am I right?

  • @rich52490 Its ALWAYS the simple things! Talk about accidentally stumbling across it!

    Thanks much man

  • collective sigh of relief...

    Thanks Lyne!

  • HA KNEW IT! lol

  • @onyxreddragon LMAO!!! Thanks bud

  • sign me up for a beer buddy

electrical issues are a cunt buddy. When I get into a mess like this thing, I rip all the wires out and start over. It's usually very effective at avoiding future problems,

  • @KrankieV2 Thats what I ended up doing with my Suburban...Ripped it all apart and am going to start from scratch. Takes a lot more time, but at least I'll know everything about it when I'm done! :)

    Beer is on me! :)

    Thanks bud

  • what did i tell u mbyr u can thank me

  • @susanloveshuskies Already did get it figured out Susan! :) I'm perky because I don't have a hangover...LOL!!

    Thanks Susan!

  • @mbyr31 Oh that explains everything; and why I didnt get you figured it out. I do have a hangover...ugh. That's not typical for me..and I remember why now.

  • @chopplolo The spark looked yellow on the vid. It appeared to have a nice blue spark in person, but I'm going to be cleaning and adjusting those points anyways.

Those beers will probably sit there for a long time! LOL!
