I vividly recall the day Bush invaded Iraq in 2003. I recall there were many who doubted this action, but it seemed like an invisilbe force was moving the ball. My thoughts were that many many good guys would be killed. Well, its even worse than that. America now must deal with 500,000 wounded American boys with brain injuries and serious lifelong illnesses from DU-238

I don't understand the circumstances- why are these soldiers sent into a possible deathtrap and there is not a foolproof backup/exytraction/emergency contingency arranged. There shouyld have been a way to quickly send a platoon or company of infantry in on the ground to support the SEAL personnel.

I just read Lone Survivor- What an amazing book.

Everyone should read this book just to see how brave these Seals are and what they go through to become a Seal and what they do to protect our country.

@Pippin76 I was in the verbal AAR he did at the Asadabad FST He said he had no clue how many were there to begin with, but was able to estimate that after he went down into the ravine there were between 30 to 40 left. I personally the Sat photo's that were given to commanders of 2/3 marine, PRT Asadabad and others during the Mission planning for the rescue operation. We estimated the numbers that the team killed between 100 to 110 based off sat photos taken within an hour of the fight.

I just finished reading Lone Survivor, and these are the types of people the world should look up to as role models, NOT stupid reality TV stars or spoiled overpaid pro athletes in our MTV society. ALL those brave men in SEAL 10 represent the best and brightest in human beings. Their courage, selflessness, valor and honor are without equal. It seems like the SEALs killed in the helo would have done the same as the 4 on the patrol, and they're all cut from the same noble cloth.
Michael is an amazing person. He and his 3 team mates are what America is made of... But if you think this an amazing story (which it is) then go search "Michael Monsoor story" team of 3 fight off 250+ Taliban soliders. Mikes team-mate was shot several times and under fire, Michael carried his team-mate in on hand while shooting with the other. The team took cover on a rooftop. Dude. It's true. Trust me. Military investigators always confirms these things before awarding people such awards like Navy Crosses and Medals of Honor. They checked the scene later, and some of his friends, believe it or not, did crazier things.

I just read Lone Survivor- What an amazing book.
Good bless all of these Seals and all of our men and women in the Military.
Everyone should read this book just to see how brave these Seals are and what they go through to become a Seal and what they do to protect our country.
I am proud of our military and I thank them for what they do for America.

I reacived the book "Lone Survivor in the mail yesterday and sat up all day and all night reading it. I finished it at 4:00am this morning. Marcus... on the faint chance that you ever log onto youtube and read these comments... God Bless you brother!!! All there is, consists of a grainy UAV video of one point in the battle. What does is matter? Those of you who get on here and talk smack about these men are despicable human beings.

@1993ECS Luttrell himself estimated about 35 in his own after-action report. The most thorough investigation by Eric Darack estimates 8-10. Go check out his website, or his book Victory Point.
Sorry, youre the ignorant one. What you gotta understand is that these guys are not goat herders, theyre experienced guys who can pull off an ambush. Thats what they try to do all the time. For four guys in bad terrain thats very tough to deal with, no matter who they are.

@Pippin76 I was in the verbal AAR he did at the Asadabad FST He said he had no clue how many were there to begin with, but was able to estimate that after he went down into the ravine there were between 30 to 40 left. I personally the Sat photo's that were given to commanders of 2/3 marine, PRT Asadabad and others during the Mission planning for the rescue operation. We estimated the numbers that the team killed between 100 to 110 based off sat photos taken within an hour of the fight.

Marcus Luttrell is in no was cocky! There is no way someone can make it so far in Special Forces and not be humble. They have to push themselves through the hardest challenges in life and the only way to do that is to humble themselves and fight through it with God on their side.

I just finished reading Lone Survivor, and these are the types of people the world should look up to as role models, NOT stupid reality TV stars or spoiled overpaid pro athletes in our MTV society. ALL those brave men in SEAL 10 represent the best and brightest in human beings. Their courage, selflessness, valor and honor are without equal. It seems like the SEALs killed in the helo would have done the same as the 4 on the patrol, and they're all cut from the same noble cloth.

Michael is an amazing person. He and his 3 team mates are what America is made of... But if you think this an amazing story (which it is) then go search "Michael Monsoor story" team of 3 fight off 250+ Taliban soliders. Mikes team-mate was shot several times and under fire, Michael carried his team-mate in on hand while shooting with the other. The team took cover on a rooftop. A grenade was thrown and michael did what he had to do... R.I.P Michael monsoor

He started bragging about all this stuff and then said with bullet wounds and rpg shrap he fell 1500 feet off a mountain and lived. that is physically impossible. I hope his story is true tho

Dude. It's true. Trust me. Military investigators always confirms these things before awarding people such awards like Navy Crosses and Medals of Honor. They checked the scene later, and some of his friends, believe it or not, did crazier things.
Bear in mind to be a SEAL you need to be badass enough to be a professional athlete too.

@MrSnobby24 SEAL's are trained for combat of 20+ men. They have extensive military training and the most state of the art weaponry you could ask for; and a will to survive a flea like you couldn't understand. Theres a reason they call the SEAL's the worlds finest, and he lost 3 of his friends.

@Nerevar1990 Really was, because there were also those guys he was shooting at the village before the Army NightStalkers came never knew how many that was. But as a whole for his SEAL team, they estimated it was 70. 70 is what the Medal of Honor certificate said but thats waay after confirmation and all that. The exact true number will always be unknown, but I think in the face of an enemy that large, numbers would highly not be exagerated as I would see it.
