  • Ive got the AT 212 combo B-52 makes great amps for metal there very underrated you can dial in just about any tone you need mines a triple rec so its pretty flexable. i still use some pedal effects there are very few amps out there you wont use some kinda pedal on just to tweak the tone. but this thing will snarl as good as the 6505 straight in with no effects

  • I used to use one of these for making MORE of my B52 AT100 ...as poweramp and had the AT100 go down once...and this amp did the show in a pinch pretty well...

  • Would you reccomend this for like a Attila or blind witness kind of tone?

  • Assassin's Creed, good man.

  • I have the same amp. but I only use it for power, all my FX are going through a Boss GT-6. It only sounds the way I want it to is to plug it into the return into the back. It just sounds too raspy through the input. probably supposed to anyway for effects

  • I have that strap haha

  • Have you used the record out feature? I was wondering if I could plug it into the mic jack on my laptop to record for Youtube. Any thoughts?

  • Wayne Rooney plays guitar?

  • return to sender!

  • I own this exact amp, and I'm not gona lie, I like it but hate it at the same time.

  • sick tones man! is that tube or solid state?

  • @bassist99909 Solid state.

  • I heard that this half or head or whatever has a lot of bass and treble but not really mids. Is that true? I wanna upgrade to a half that's affordable. So far this and Raven half stack are cheap along with a line 6 half. My buddy has the b-52 and plays with a schecter hellraiser and it sounds a bit thin for my taste. I was wondering if it's the emg's or the half stack or both. I'm an ibanez guy myself and use dimarzio pickups all the way, so i don't know

  • can u get a good pantera sound on this. and how well do multi effects processor work through it.

  • the metal distortion sounds like it could be used by Bury Your Dead. awesome

  • bro can you share your good patch distortion...

  • he is a lefty:D haha

  • If you had to compare the sound of the distortion of this amp to a song, what song would it be?

  • how well does it to teh br00tlz?

  • @rushpython100 trust me you have alot of tone as much bass as you can get the distortion is heavy as fuck!

  • would u recommend this amp for thrash metal and hard rock like metallica, guns n roses, van halen, etc

  • I have twi B-52 stacks, i have a solid statehead and the tube head. Both sound great theough a pa system if you kick up the contor and mids. I love them both. Im in a band called Love Turns Hate, look them up on here and youll hear them in a real setting. Love B-52.

  • you said you run it through the pedal mainly to lower the input from your active pickups. why don't you just roll the volume on your guitar down?

  • @cowsayingmoo102 idk for sure his specific reasoning but i'm assuming its because you lose power and bite when you roll the volume on the guitar down and it sounds really thin

  • Could I get a good PWD tone out of this? Or would I be better off saving for a 6505

  • @nellings6 if pwd means parkway drive, it may be possible to get a similar tone but I would reccomend a 6505 for that music, I actually reccomend a head by either two companies diezel or peters very expensive or geta line 6 vetta ii.

  • @nellings6 well if cash is a factor then you can try to find a 5150 used which is the old 6505 they have a pretty sick distortion and probably would be pretty cheap compared to the 6505 if you can find one

  • Hows the reverb? Does the foot-switch work well?

  • @N1V3K0141 the foot pedal work very well. the reverb is alright but I think it's decay time is too long and it kinda only works for playing eightys rock opeth plus erie clean tone parts. hope this helps you some.

    Peace, and Godbless,

    Luther.

  • @NoNameCityBand00 Thanks! I'm planning on buying this with a LS400 cab from B52. Do you also use that cab? I'm most likely going to use my vox valvetronix 30 watt combo amp as my effects processor because the built in effects, and clean channel tones are wonderful. I'll link it to this with a headphone cable. Does the footswitch connect through the back or do you have to power supply it and then route it to the input? And if you have that cab is it stereo/mono switchable?

  • @N1V3K0141 actually the footswitch is passive and plugs in thru the back of the head I actually use a kustom quad mono cab I don't know much about the cab I couldn't afford it and someone sold the kustom cab to me for $70

but if you want you could plug the effects amp passively thru the effects loop or just place it inbetween the guitar and the amp. hope that helps you out sorry I couldn't help with the cab question Peace and God Bless

    Luther of Beyond Sinister Skyes

  • @N1V3K0141 I got mine with the cab and I really like it.

  • i love this video, its hilarious

  • @nebnampach well thank you, I want to say I had some points to make about the amp but when my friend messed me up I lost my points. it's more for a sound sample anyways. Peace, and GodBless.

  • Contour is basically compression. This head is amazing for SS cheapo. I would consider a min 8 channel EQ pedal on that sucker to tighten it up. Even at full gain on 2nd channel it has no sustain or mid presents at all. Overall sound ok for cheap gear. Average.

  • @Mozaeous yeah, I gotta agree it's not the amp I will keep for ever and it does need a little tightening but it's better then like the ravens and the marshell mg series, and stuff and if a b-52 is what a person wants theres not much difference in sound to there tube at series if you know how to work it right. but I am saving up for a diezel herbert head.

  • Does this head have good enough gain to play in a hardcore/metal band live without getting too much feedback?

And would you choose this or the Randall RX120RH

  • @bradyhasguitarskills Scratch that,

would you recomend getting this, or spending more on the B-52 AT-100?

  • @bradyhasguitarskills if you have active pickups then I recommend this amp the only amps I like better are the expensive engls or the dieztels this is great though at ful gain I advise you get a noise gate pedal.

  • @bradyhasguitarskills if you have active pickups then get this one and it will be great if you have passive guitars then maybe save for the at but I think this amp works and it has feel twice and still has not mest up at all as well as it's very loud at live shows it rarely ever goes past 4.

    Peace, and GodBless.

    Luther.

  • the tone sounds pretty good, i think im going to get this head with the b52 4x12 cab as well

  • I say get it.

  • what tuning are you in?

  • @matthewgoodnight92

    drop B standard C#.

  • Nice. I've thought about using that tuning with mine, but i don't know if my guitar could handle it lol.

  • @matthewgoodnight92

sure you can just get the right gauge strings so it still has the right tension at the low tuning I use ghs boomers zack wildes lows I believe they are a thick string.

  • I have this exact guitar and head.

  • don't know if you have blackout pickups on it but actives is great with this rig.

  • is that the footswitch that came with it? i bought one used and it didnt come with it

  • Respond to this video...

it did come with it most likely guitar centers have a footswitch that you can get.

  • Maybe you'll answer me this time? I downloaded the instruction book for this amp off of the internet and I noticed that in the back there's a page of recommended settings for both clean and distortion sounds. I'm wondering if you've tried any of them out--particularly the distortion ones.

    Thanks for your time (maybe),

    DMA123

  • @DeathMetalAngel123 Im sorry I hadn't seen a comment asking that my bad,

but no I haven't read the manual yet I just dial my tones by ear, I will definitely download the manual and check it out for you though.

soory If I flaked, my bad.

    Peace, metal and godBless.

    Luther.

  • It's no problem, man. We all flake at some point. Thanks for checking it out though, it's gonna really help me.

You put it best! Peace, metal and God Bless,

    DMA123

  • Ive tried a few of them but i dont like them much. I mainly wanted to use the Metal setting but this amp gets kinda muddy when you put the bass up to high.

  • @TheEthanhausler I still intend to make a video on my tone settings and

how I get good sound from the head but I have been busy the next vid I put up should be about tone though.

  • i have this head and when u mess around with the contour knob it can do wonders for the muddiness. i love his head!!

  • @beevaweeva I mean using the clean channel with a distortion pedal

  • @TheEthanhausler most heads will start to get muddy when you use too much bass. I mean, install some horns in your cab if you want a ton of bass.

  • @jasonshipps thats exactly what happens

  • @jasonshipps and wont i need to install woofers to drive the low-frequencys?

  • @TheEthanhausler I recommend maybe a passive speaker crossover to dedecate the speakers to frequencies but then you have to be miced in more detail cause it no longer comes from one speaker. might not be what you want though.

  • @jasonshipps aren't horns for driving highs, I mean it makes sense if you want that to let the 12's or 10's push the mids and lows. I would reccomend he use a passive crossover in the cab if he has major mud issues. not noking I just wanted to know if thats what you meant.

  • Do you guys have a MySpace with some of your music on it or somethin' that I could check out where you used this amp?

  • Comment removed

  • What r your gain and clean channel settings???

  • @brulahproductions well my gain is on gain channel 2 gain at about 75 percent,

treble at around 64 percent, mids at about 45 percent, bass at about 50 percent, contour at about 48 percent. channel two volume at 90 percent

master volume stays under 20 percent.

clean tone is with mid cut out, and treble around 75 percent mid about 50 percent bass around 50 percent, volume down some.

hope it helps. I also use blackout pickups.

    peace, and Godbless.

    Luther of No Name City.

  • my name is luther too!!!!!

  • @brulahproductions hello fellow luther, we are the coolest humans man, such a rarely known name for people who happen to also be light complected. luther unite. Peace, and godbless.

    Luther Nye.

  • my name is luther too!!!

  • not bad of a tone. its heavier than what im running. i have a 80's thrash sound on my hi gain channel, and a classic rock crunch sound on the low gain channel.

  • this amp is fairly deverse in it's tonal options, and loud man is it loud for it's rms.

    Peace, Luther.

  • So do you have this same amp? If so, are you saying that you have a nice 80's thrash sound without the use of any pedals?

  • yes, i can get a great 80's thrash tone with out any distortion

  • Awesome, I'm definitely going to get this amp now. I was gonna get an Ibanez TBX150H, but now that I know I can get a good distortion on this one AND a great clean sound, this is definitely the better choice.

    Thanks for the help!

  • Your EQ settings are super clear on the video could you tell me what they are?

  • sure thing give me a day or so and i will jot them down for you and reply again.

    {eace, and godbless,

    Luther of N N C.

by the way let me know if you run a cross any good metal videos with the b-52 head

  • @TheEthanhausler I put my eq settings on this page for someone so If you still want to know the mix you can find it in a comment.

  • sounds good

  • @wolfgar926

    thank you very much man.

Peace and Godbless. Luther of N N C.
