  • From what I can see the creature seems innocent, the humans are the real monsters as they come into his habitat and bother him. The creature is just trying to defending himself from human invaders. Hopefully the new movie will make the creature more of a hero then a monster.

  • Steve....where's Johnny??????

  • I always close my eyes in monster films, but you made this so entertaining, I might be able to look at every frame! Swimming, however, now is not so sure. Your reviews are the BEST!!

  • As usual, another great movie...... ... great review... love the voices!!!

  • Once again you insoire me! I don't think I've ever sen these but will have to now. Love you!

  • i lurve the Creature! thanks for the review. these and the Mummy are my faves but Creature gets the edge thanks to the beefcake thrown in!!

  • Great reviews of what were indeed not only some of the best boo flicks of the 50s but, as you say, the last gasp for Universal monsters (not counting "The Munsters," where CFTBL, as "Uncle Gilbert," did turn up once).. And that book displayed behind you, Gifford's "A Pictorial History of Horror Movies," is a real treasure, isn't it? Also, the commentary tracks for the excellent collectors' DVD set you hold up are really worthwhile (loved the bit about the telephone pole in the "Amazon").

  • Steve -

I believe the short, underwater "creature" was a man named Jack Betz. A scuba diver

and my biology teacher at Sarasota Highschool. At least that's what he told us.

  • @Apartment0 No, the underwater scenes were played by Ricou Browning, while Ben Chapman did the rest.

  • Hey Steve,

how do i get my hands on a copy of the big gay musical.

    ps.....i live in Alaska

  • @wildman99688

I'm sure you can order it through Amazon.com or through TLA Video.

  • @STEVEHAYESTOQ

I've seen it for instant viewing on Netflix.com

  • LOL "People running in the 50s" I love it! Great movies as summer approaches.

  • Where is Johnny ???

  • Why don't you have a TV show on TCM?

  • @indusdolphin

Your guess is as good as mine. Thanks for the encouragement!

  • All these years and I never knew there were two sequels to the original!

  • Great commentary..... but why didnt you mention that "Creature" was originally made in 3D? That was one of its big claim to fame.... Original 3D prints still exist and I saw this a couple of years ago at a special revival, in 3D, with 3D glasses. Its rather amazing in 3D. Shame on you for omitting this part of movie history.....

  • you've actually got me interested in this flick! love ya-keep up the amazing work

  • Keep em comin!

  • LOve it....Steve You're a Treasure.........I hear they are remaking that too....

  • Another great review - it is an absolute joy when I get the notification that you have posted another video! Keep them coming!
