    Secondly it does not work the "inside" of the biceps... What I think he was trying to say was the biceps brachi, it works the Brachialis which is the outer head of the biceps, which as he explained gives fullness to the bicep

    Thirdaly, do not do them in front of your body, you will end up kyphotic having round shoulders, therefore back problems, inturn making you lordotic... Please watch someone else!!

  • WRONG AGAIN! This guy is the absolute worst instructor on You Tube! This exercise is not done for the "inside of the biceps". Neutral elbow flexion de-emphasizes the biceps. It emhasizes your brachioradialis. It is a brachioradialis exercise. This idiot keeps saying "the hammer style", because he is unfamiliar with the term "neutral wrist". If giving out misinformation was a crime, this guy would be doing hard time.

  • You're wrong about it working the inside of the biceps. Hammer Curls target the out head of the bicep along with your brachialis muscle.

  • @virusbomb96 you probably shouldn't work your biceps every day, as you're not giving them time to heal and grow.

  • @virusbomb96 depends on thousands of things.. but with the right amount of food and the correct food and your strenght, depend on 2-3 months before any real changes.. 2-3 diffrent becip excersises will always help it.

  • @abuwadie3: Well, there's only one way to bend the arm (I think). Bring your hand towards your shoulder! Here's something you can do to illustrate the point I made below: Bend your arm and point your hand away from you like you're making a "gooseneck." Feel how even though your arm is bent, your bicep isn't fully flexed. Now turn the "goose's" head TOWARDS you and feel how your bicep automatically comes to full contraction. Your bicep can ONLY be fully worked in this position.

  • The function of the bicep is to supinate the hand, not bend the arm. So by just bending the arm WITHOUT twisting your hand, you are not fully flexing the bicep and it is not getting the workout. You'll notice towards the end of these sets that your forearm is more fatigued than your biceps.

  • @ThaOneChrisJONES depends on how u want ur biceps to look.. its not required to do the hammer curl.. u could also do a normal dumbell curl with a twist so it combines the two. He also showed that one im sure :).

  • @Exicuton More or less like this guy's biceps. I have the size, I've just never had the the workout smarts. I can achieve a decent bulky build, but I've never been as toned as this guy.

I don't know if you are are into eating healthy etc, but hes a natural bodybuilder and he probly has a very very low fat percent, which can also make the lines more visable :).. Just keep working out.. And if you are of decent size just do more reps at lower weight. Good luck.

Im starting to see some results but at the moment all I have are 25s ( don't have the best equipment at the moment ) and I know I can go bigger than that. If I up the weights to 45 lbs and rock 4 sets of 10 - 12 reps I should be able hammer out some nice results.

  • if u do that it just means 1 arm will be strengthened more than the other, which can ruin it. because if one is strogner than it takes the same amount of time for the other to catch up, but then the other might run stale

  • sorry bro, you need to keep your elbows in the same position throughout the whole motion, or else you wont get the same isolation for M.biceps brachii + you should have different speed on eccentric and concentric fase of the exercise

  • No matter the exercise,when weight training always pick a weight where you can't do anymore than 12-14 reps..i've found that repping till failure is the best method to build muscle,find a weight where you are "toast" after 12-14 reps..I'm 5'8-200 pounds with a 32 inch waist and 18" arms.I've been listing for 10 years and that's what works for me.

  • That means do 12 lifts , then rest , then 2 more sets of 12 lifts .....

  • Hammer curls do not work forearms,reverse curls work forearms.

  • I;ve been weightlifting for 10 years.The reason a lot of guys don't get results is because they are going to heavy.You want to choose a weight that you can get at least 12 reps out of.Gotta have a lot of reps to really work the muscle.If someone is only getting 6 or 7 reps they are not building for size,they are building strength,big difference!!

  • @Bly86 No, almost all curls work primarily the inside of the bicep. However, you can put more of the focus on the outer bicep by doing incline curls. But you cannot 100% isolate either inner or outer, it is impossible.
