I'm upset at you making this crap ass B-rated sci-fi movie and dubbing it StarTrek. How 'bout that?

It felt like I was watching Andromeda (2nd season onwards) or something.

wow abrams barely even addressed the issue. He talks about leaving shatner out because his character died on screen. So did Spock if I remember correctly. Also the movie deals with time travel. Obviously in a world where time travel is possible anything is possible. Its seems like abrams went out of his way to write shatner out of the movie. Why? Maybe he wanted to bring in a new Cpt. Kirk and didn't want Shatner in there confusing everyone. I really don't know the reasoning behind it.

i dont know all the story... in which movie or whatever did Cpt. Kirk die, was it the VI movie? I'm glad they had Spock back though and love the way JJ uses quantum physics and its theoredical views on time travel to make both universes of Star Trek co-exist, its genius

I think Star Trek 11 was one of the best of the franchise along with Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan, Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home and Star Trek 8 First Contact. I haven't decided which of the four I like best, but it is one of the best and I will be seeing it again and again!!!

you people are nuts! True Trekkies loved the movie, nd the revival of the franchise. Stop ruining it for everyone else and keep your crappy opinions to yourself! I have watched Star Trek since I was six, and I still love seeing it on the big screen. Shut the heck up and give folks a chance to judge for themselves. I loved the new movie and want it to continue!

I agree the movie sucked. The only two characters that were "semi-believable" & partially true to the original were Scotty & Dr. McKoy..

The movie was great. I don't know, maybe we didn't see the same movie. Shatner's character Kirk wouldn't have been able to be fit into the new movie.

The movie merged the continuity of the original universe with this new universe. The original Kirk had already died in the original universe. If they did try to fit him in, it would have felt too forced. The only reason Nimoy fit was because his character Spock was still alive in the original universe.
