They didn't kill it, that's the point of the Taser... they had every right to shoot the dog and under normal circumstances the dog would have taken a 9mm round to the head. The taser allows them to disable the dog long enough to secure it.
Keep in mind, this guy (a child molester) ignored the cops who were pounding on his doors and windows and clearly identifing themself, this guy had every opportunity to secure the dog before the cops made a forced entry, this guy could have spared his own dog the Taser, but chose instead to let the dog aggressively storm the door at the cops. They acted legally, safely and with compassion.

lee ~ it's dark in the begining of the video, so it's hard to make out what is happening, but it sure looks to me like they had enough officers there once the man was outside that they should have been able to shut the door.

They didn't kill it, that's the point of the Taser... they had every right to shoot the dog and under normal circumstances the dog would have taken a 9mm round to the head. The taser allows them to disable the dog long enough to secure it.

Keep in mind, this guy (a child molester) ignored the cops who were pounding on his doors and windows and clearly identifing themself, this guy had every opportunity to secure the dog before the cops made a forced entry, this guy could have spared his own dog the Taser, but chose instead to let the dog aggressively storm the door at the cops. They acted legally, safely and with compassion.
