well actually harper left right before recording this album,harper may have written it,but peter mosely actually recorded lead on here,i think...but you have to admitt ben has nothing on mendez on playing guitar,mendez is just insane.

Harper did most of the guitar work on this album f you read the linear notes in Lights and Sounds including the original HWD solo which was WAY better then Mendez's version.

No, i think the meaning of the song is a young girl asspiring to be famous watching hollywood stars crash and burn, but i think Holly Wood the name is aimed at the girl not the industry

I thought that it was an adult girl and somebody she knew died and she is just trying to get over it. also, the ending music is the same as 3 flights up rock version, so that may somehow be a factor

apparently this song actually IS about hollywood dying (as in the whole industry) which is personified by a girl called holly wood. yellowcard have a few songs that express their distaste for L.A (eg. back home, city of devils {as opposed to city of angels: los angeles}) so that seems to be the best fit as far as i can tell.
