I have found that people who are open minded can use debate to clarify their own points, gain empathy for others' point of view, and realise that their beliefs may be wrong. It's a real shame that you don't see the value of debate. I was tempted to add a line from the bible condemning homosexuality, or advising us to crush disobedient children to death by pushing walls on top of them, but I thought it a little churlish. As for the section on crushing children, it's by Leviticus, the primary source of gay hatred from your holy book. He also advises us that people who wear a shirt made from two different fabrics should be put to death. I think it speaks volumes that you, and so many of your ilk, choose to ignore these and focus on gay people.

@CornCob6000 Yes, I do, in a way. All sin is equal in that they all make us separated from God, whether a person commits murder, lusts after their own sex, or envies another's possessions. In the end, all three sins require forgiveness. That is how they are equal.

It doesn't discriminate in the bible, so I'd imagine that a good follower would have to trust the word of god and believe that committing adultery is the same as working on a sunday, for example.

As for the second part of your message, I think that as a Christian one shouldn't excuse one wrongdoing because it's not as bad as another, but should not commit it because he knows it's wrong. You seem to keep searching for how Christians condemn others, but God is the only one with that authority.

Because He was perfect and died for us, God sees us as Jesus when we accept Him. Does this make sense?

God is HOLY and there is no sin or wickedness in him so every sin is the same in God's eyes and his forgiveness is the same no matter what sin. One clear example is when the (female) prostitute was about to be stoned and Jesus said whoever is without sin cast the first stone. Then he turned to her and said go and SIN no more. I have found that people who are open minded can use debate to clarify their own points, gain empathy for others' point of view, and realise that their beliefs may be wrong. It's a real shame that you don't see the value of debate. I was tempted to add a line from the bible condemning homosexuality, or advising us to crush disobedient children to death by pushing walls on top of them, but I thought it a little churlish. All the best.

As for the section on crushing children, it's by Leviticus, the primary source of gay hatred from your holy book. He also advises us that people who wear a shirt made from two different fabrics should be put to death. I think it speaks volumes that you, and so many of your ilk, choose to ignore these and focus on gay people.

@CornCob6000 I didn't say we should condemn gay people. We don't have a right to condemn anyone; God alone has that authority. I'm saying it's wrong, just like murder is wrong. I can't say that I know much about the Old Law, but when Jesus came, he fulfilled all the sacrificial laws. I can see that you're fairly grounded in your disbelief of Christianity, and I by no means wish to push religion on anyone, so I won't post anymore about this unless you sincerely wish me to.

I respect your views, but saying that homosexuality is wrong in the same way as murder is wrong actually takes my breath away. I know a number of gay couples, both male and female, and they don't seem on a par with murderers to me. I expect you have the same opinion of people who envy that which is not theirs, another sin?

@CornCob6000 Yes, I do, in a way. All sin is equal in that they all make us separated from God, whether a person commits murder, lusts after their own sex, or envies another's possessions. In the end, all three sins require forgiveness. That is how they are equal.

It doesn't discriminate in the bible, so I'd imagine that a good follower would have to trust the word of god and believe that committing adultery is the same as working on a sunday, for example.

@CornCob6000 A person is separated from God when he sins, no matter how little or great the sin is. I don't know that there are different levels of forgiveness; forgiveness is just forgiveness. As for the second part of your message, I think that as a Christian one shouldn't excuse one wrongdoing because it's not as bad as another, but should not commit it because he knows it's wrong. You seem to keep searching for how Christians condemn others, but God is the only one with that authority.

Colossians 1:13-14 says: "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." @CornCob6000 i think that when you sin every sin has an equal weight because you get separated from God when you do. i dont belive any sin is worse than any other, just some sins are more looked down upon by the world. ex: murder: all of the world looks down on that so your punishment on earth would be death or a life sentence. but gossip: nowa days gossip isnt really looked down upon because of celeberties but still. its a sin.

@CornCob6000 I agree that you didn't exaggerate my words. :) I meant what I said. To God, sin is sin, regardless of the kind of sin. It still keeps you out of heaven and takes away your perfection. The only way you can make it to Heaven is to be absolutely perfect, and no one is perfect. So Jesus made a way for us to be perfect in the eyes of God; by being perfect and dying for us. Because He was perfect and died for us, God sees us as Jesus when we accept Him. Does this make sense?

God is HOLY and there is no sin or wickedness in him so every sin is the same in God's eyes and his forgiveness is the same no matter what sin. @CornCob6000 there is nothing sinful about working on Sunday, as the 4th commandment is the Sabbath, the 7th day of the week, Sunday is the first day of the week. God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) did not change the day. See Matthew 5 17-18. Even after Jesus resurrection, his disciples continued to keep the Sabbath, even the disciples that were gentiles kept the Sabbath

One clear example is when the (female) prostitute was about to be stoned and Jesus said whoever is without sin cast the first stone. Then he turned to her and said go and SIN no more. Clear example of prostitution being wrong.
