oh please!is that a way to cantact god, no effence buh dancing, singing nd awl is nt allowed in islam, god didnt put u on dis earth to hav fun, yh enjoy ur lyf,buh do da real fing, read namaaz nt dance or sing! o please man dis is ridiculous!
Even if only tourist fare, the dance in itself is uplifting, enlightening and mesmerizing. I for one have problems breathing while watching this. It's that intense of an experience for me.
I have NIN Slipping Away playing along with this and it is a pretty odd compliment. I didn't realize I wasn't breathing until I had to take a huge gasp of error. Sufi dance and the music to accompany it is amazing.
This is Sufi dhikr like those which are held all over the Muslim world by the majority of Muslims.
We Ahle Hadith/Salafis/Wahhabis also have a dance but it is only for our master, Abdul Bush ibn Saud and al-Khalif Bush 2nd and NOT for Allah and His Messenger which we consider kufr, shirk and bida.We also only allow nashids for me (Abdul-Riyal ibn Baaz) and Saudi family.
Please see my videos of this. You can also view a video of Ahmadia prostration practice to their leader Mirza Masrur Qadiani.
The Dervich dance came from a branch of Islam known as Sufism. There are several mosques in Brooklyn which you can google and get the phone numbers to. There is a chance that one of them may have a group that does "dhikr" or Sufi dance, which is done for the remembrance of Allah God. Most likely they do not do this if they are conservative in their religion. If there is a group that does it, it might be only men. There may be Sufi dance groups outside of Islam, but this is away from the origin.
megaladom, You are right that Mevlana Rumi was attributed with the beginning of this dance. I am studying Sufism and believe I am a Sufi, now busy translating Mevlana Rumi and Yunus Emre's poetry from Ottoman. The dancers do not get dizzy because they are spinning their egos to the outside of the body and it is a form of worship. Though in this patricular dance and ones similar to it today, it is for a tourist show. Still beautiful though.
yes, it has everything to do with Islam, this is the sufi dance where a pure sufi soul dance in the name of Allah and get get lost in his conciousness. This is sufisam. Please educated yourself first before you make a fool of yourself. two year colleges always offer classes about Isam so consider it, and learn more despite the fact that your a AntiIslam, but still learn the insights story about who we really are. Thanks
Muslim, you can keep you interprretation to yourself... Far wiser men and women then you have chosen the path of Sufis. It is the purest and most beautiful face of Islam.. You seem to represet the opposite. May Allah open your heart and bring you a true and meaningful understanding og Guran and Sunnah.
Muslim, who says this is not in Islam? Thousands of Sufis would disagree...Who are you to say otherwise? Your intepretation is very limited and shallow... Sufis try to understand Islam at its depth.
muslim10>> i think u r slightly misinterpreting the concept.Love is of course for Allah but U can love others too - ur parents, kids, relatives & all the human kind as a whole.Love is not restricted, it is required thts y Prphet Mohammad (peace be upon him) wod love kids n his relatives.
I KNOW you are just bullshittin. If you were so devout and such life less muslim, as you try to make yourself sound, you wouldn't be watching you tube.If you are so devout, you need to stop sinning and stop looking at this device of shaytan, go get your self the latest version of Quran and read on.
Actually I only visit this website to publish my own videos and to listen to qur'aan and lectures etc. Yes, this may be a device of shaytaan...but it depends on how you use it.
And what do you mean 'the latest version' of the Qur'aan??!
Astaghfirullaah, dont judge a person when you have no information...
"whoever is from these later generation Sufi's such as Ibn Arabi and other than him, then they are misguided, ignorant and outside of the path of Islam let alone be considered as scholars." [See the book Tanbeeh al-Ghabi of Imam Burhaan al-Biqaa'ee ash-Shaf'ee p.68]
In Tarteeb al-Madaarik by Qaadi 'Iyyaadh (2/54) at-Teneesee: "We were with Malik and his companions around him. A man from the people of Naseebeen said, "We have a people called Sufi's who eat a lot then they mention lines of poetry and then they stand up to dance?"
Malik (rahimahullaah) said, "Are they children?"
He said, "no."
Malik (rahimahullaah) said, "Are they possessed?"
The man said, "rather they eat then they stand and dance. Some of them hitting their heads and some their faces." So Malik (rahimahullaah) laughed and then stood up and went to his house. The companions of Malik (rahimahullaah) said to the man you were fortunate with our companion since we sat with him for thirty odd years, we never saw him laugh except on this day."
Ibn Jawzi in Talbees Iblees p.371 said that ash-Shaf'ee said: "The sanity of a person never returned to the who continued to stay with a Sufi for 40 days."
Imaam Baihaqee reports in Manaqib ash-Shaaf'ee, "If a man becomes a Sufi in the first part of the day, by the time Zhohr comes upon him you will find him crazy."
A mystical belief that has its influence from paganism. The soofees have introduced many acts of shirk into the Muslim Ummah such as taking the graves as places of worship, praying to 'saints', taking others as intercessors with Allaah and many other astray innovations.
but when you bring the tsawuf tsawwuf that is happening now back to the imams.. maybe one of them will slap ya across the face .. good for nothing darwesh!
Imam Tartoushi al-Maliki (451H-520H) was asked about the Sufi's so he said: "The Madhab of the Sufi's is futile, ignorance, misguidance... and it is not allowed for anyone who believes in Allaah and the last day to be present with them, nor to help them upon their baseless ways and this is the way of Malik, Abu Haneefah, ash-Shaf'ee and other than them from the scholars of the Muslims and to Allaah belongs success."[See Tafseer Qurtubi 11/237/238]

Wow. This dance is so beautiful and inspiring! Where can I go to learn more about the meanings and history of it?
Is this dance only for men? Or could a woman do it to? Or is there a similar one?

So are you saying these acts are what Allah has told us to do?
Did Muhammad (SAW) preach this? Were these from his actions?
Were they from the actions of the Sahaaba?
From the Salaf?
It is nothing but Innovation in Islam. And whoever brings newly introduced matters into Islaam will have it rejected.

No, sufis take religion to Extremes.
Whatever is in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah is sufficient for us. Allah said that he has completed this religion for us.
You show me a place where the acts of sufism are allowed in Islaam, but bring it from the True Qur'aan and the Authentic Sunnah.

Dance, as though no one is watching...Allah is always watching you, so fear Allaah!
Love, as though you've never been hurt before...Love is the trick of Shaytaan and the only love is for the sake of Allaah!
Sing, as though no one can hear you....Singing is a act inpermissable in Islaam.
Live, as though heaven is on earth...This earth is nothing but a test and merely that!
May Allaah guide the one who made this, and whosoever beleives it.
Aamin

please lighten up a little. we're in 21st century now.
1- dancing is ok
2- it's ok to love
3- sing if you want to
4- fear no one, not even allah. he is kind.
Happyness needs no excuse. If it's through love, dance, sing or work, so be it. Enjoy life, please!
