Geoff-I have not been in touch for about two years now-hope all is still well-I now am in clarksville tn teaching and studying self defense-and preach the FENCE -I have added what i call INTERCEPTION-i always teach strike before doing a self defense technique-hope this finds you well-respectfully Richard in clarksville tn usa
Geoff, it's refreshing to hear a well spoken fighter--esp. one w/ doorman experience. Thank you. Most of these moves are moves i already use now. Thank you for reassuring me that they are good by using them in your videos.--and adding detail.
these videos are what caused me to quit tkd after 15 yrs for boxing and grappling back in 1997(we learnded from the original gracie basics tapes since nobody else had a clue and trained a bit with a judo club).
@Kamboolo hahaha yeah, he's brutal when it comes to that. I don't knwo why he can't just demonstrate the stuff and stop short, it seems like (in other videos in particular) he just has to make some sort of contact when he's doing his 100% swings with a partner.
theres a bit missing from part 1, what does he say about being off centre (towards the end) it cuts out and moves onto the second clip it's like he moves onto another section. Please can you tell me what he says
It talks about moving off to one side, off the centre line which moves the assailant off balance and also opens up the whole jaw line to be hit. It is a bigger target area when you move to one side.

The interesting thing is that what he is doing is basically what Jack Johnson, the first black heavyweight champion, used to do. I person can't generate speed in their hands if someone obstructs them up near the elbow and upper arm.
I like this man. I like his fighting philosophy. Every martial artist should study his work if they are serious about applying what they have devoted their lives to.
thanks for posting this , I have one of his books, excellent stuff, this man is real and he seems , despite his dismissive comments about the 'mystical ' etc , to have developed a spiritual understanding and humility which is admirable.
Axel ucc hamburg
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I've seen many confrontations where the "18 inches" degenerates, and you are left in headbutting range, and I have always wanted to know how to keep someone back without coming across as being threatening.
what to the light punches to the chin do?

Bujinkan training is similar in the relaxed attitude and use of balance etc.
