I first saw GCS in Asheville, NC back in 71 or 72. I think they were playing with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. Gawd I'm dating myself........

They spend their time in Kentucky now, but they put down roots in Phoenix first. They started in 1968 and were signed in 1970. I saw them play at Scottsdale Community College in 1984 and it was televised on the local public access cable channel. One of the best bands I've ever seen!

I used to have to ride my god dam bike to high school everyday ( in phoenix , 1971 ) and they had a great big school bus parked on the side of the road and I passed it every day for a long time. Painted G.C. tan and big blue letters on the side , the G.C. signature.just like on their first album. that caught my interest. I was 13 , and just starting to "smoke". I always thought they were from Phoenix.

I can listen to this and old memories just keep coming.I use to sing a tune by GC and cant find it.Cant remember the title but went--How could life be so low where did all the water go my boat was floating on yesterday,has my ship run aground or have I finally found that the ocean I was on was just a bay.
