  • what are the best portable amps for under 300

  • how do you carry your ipod amp setup?

  • @2000xlt With a wrist strap keeping them together.

  • very informative thanks

  • I checked on their website but found that amplifier for nearly 500$, do you have a link where you found it for $345?

  • @adrainn They no longer sell the ALO Rx, they are now selling the ALO RX Mk II which is $500 with a DAC.

  • @OwnDiZzL3 I bought them brand new trough eBay from a factory in NewYork. Compared to the beats it had no bass at all and it cinda hurt your ears when you turn the volume up pretty high. I like the beats much more because you literally feel the bass. And I like that. The mids in the beats are quite poor however.. I'm not an expert at all but that's how I feel.

  • @tofujr I tried the Phiaton MS400 and they sound like shit compared to the beats solos.

  • @hCore01 Where'd you try the MS400's at? It's either the MS400 were broken or you don't know what good quality audio should sound like.

  • How do you take the amp with you when you go out? In your pocket 0.0?

  • @MrBarrbapapa Yep, in my pocket piggybacked to my iPod/iPhone. It's surprisingly still can fit in my pocket, not my pant's pockets, but in my jacket/sweater pockets.

  • @OwnDiZzL3 Okey thanks! But do you recommend the beats solo hd with amplifier instead ? Or just the studios without amplifier ? Or do you recommend some other headphones? I don't want in ear headphones..

Thanx for being so helpful !

  • @hCore01 I would recommend the Audio Technica M50 or Phiaton MS400 with this amp or without the amp. The Beats Studio's are just all marketing.

  • @hCore01 If you have Beats don't even bother with an amplifier because it shows you have no knowledge of what good quality audio is.

  • Hey. Have you tried this amp on your iPod touch with the beats by dre studios? And how is the difference with and without the amp ? Do you think it's worth buying? And where can I buy this amp and this cable? Great uploads btw :)

  • @hCore01 Yes, and the Beats Studio's do improve a bit. Mostly a tighter bass and slightly fuller midrange. The improvement isn't as drastic as my custom earphones or other audiophile headphones. The amp is worth it, but not really for a headphone like the Beats. The Beats already have a built in amplifier inside to power itself when consumers plug it into an iPhone, iPod or other low powered source.

  • @hCore01 The amplifier built in the Beats degrade the signal from the clean and powerful signal from the ALO Rx. You can purchase the amp from ALO Audio. Type that into Google search. You can get the LOD cable from eBay for around $30-50. Anymore questions, feel free to ask!

  • I just got one and I was plugging it up to charge and I didn't notice any led come on. Does yours have an led that lights up when you charge it?

  • There is a charging chip inside the amplifier that ONLY allows the battery to be charged when has depleted enough. This allows the battery to have a longer lasting overall life-span. It's not good to charge Li-ion batteries when they haven't depleted past 40% of juice. The battery in your ALO Rx hasn't depleted enough yet. Use your ALO Rx some more.

  • @OwnDiZzL3 Okay sweet! Thanks. I bought it used after selling my MS1i's and Little Dot I+, and have used it for a few days and I am getting ready to leave for a trip and wanted to plug it up to be fully charged. Thanks for the fast reply I was freaking out. But this amp sounds amazing with my customs!

  • You're Welcome!

  • how would you rate the audio quality of the touch with the alo rx amp?

  • I would rate is as great.

  • Really enjoyed your video, very informative. What I can't understand though is why you would spend so much money on an alo amplifier and a pair of ue10/11's and use an ipod touch as your source?? The ipod touch's DAC is absolutely rubbish! I would have spent some money on a decent source first and then bought the rest of the kit. Even a generation 4/5/5.5 ipod classic has a wolfson DAC which is a really good chip, then I could have understood it.

  • Hey, look for my unboxing and review video of the HiFiMAN HM-801. It's the best sounding portable audio player. I use that.

  • Oh wow, ok now I thinking to get the twag cable and the amp.. May you send me a link to the website please for the cable and amp?many thanks if you know anything better please let me know.. Many thanks to you.

  • do you only recommend this for Ipod's or do they work with any player as good?

  • I recommend this for anything that has a line out. It's just that these portable amps are mostly used with iPods.

  • do ur jh13 pro's have a null audio aftermarket cable??? looks familiar, especially the palics plug

  • At that time I had that cable now I have the TWag cable from whiplash audio. The TWag cable completely demolishes the null audio lune series cable. The TWag cable isn't cheap though, as of now you buy it at a discount for $300. The normal price is $500.

  • @OwnDiZzL3 i dont even have a pair, im just obsessed with them and cant wait for the day i get a pair. lol right now m just using turbines that hopefully in the near future will be powered by this amp

  • i want this so bad but dont have the money do you kno anyone selling this? cant seem to find any on ebay

  • I sent you the website links via personal message to the stores that sell this amplifiers! =)

  • hey dude, great video. I wanted to ask if the cable works for other music players? Im using the new sony walkman right now. Also is it possible to change the decals on the JH13 pro or is it cut into the plastic? Thanks

  • The cable only works for the iPod or iPhone. The device has to have line out pins in the dock connector. The sony walkman doesn't have it unfortunately. The design is embedded beneath a clear acrylic coating in the faceplate. It cannot be changed unless you send them back to the company for a design change at a fee of $50.

  • great video, very informative as the title implies. description was sagest!

  • Thanks!

  • Great detailed description. Thanks!

  • No problem!
