I have two motorola modems . One is 2 Mbps and the second one is 16 Mbps . The Internet is fast but after about like 12 hours , the modem will reconnect to the server for better connection .
our modem has been dropping the internet connection more consistantly as of late, . ( for the past two weeks, and at least 5 to 6 times a day). I'm tired of unplugging it and letting it reboot, because it doesn't always work afterwards. I was wondering if anyone else has been plagued with this issue, and how much longer do i have before it completely goes out???
I had the 2210 from Motorola, which is also a piece of junk. Because the 2210 was getting too hot and stopped working, I replaced it with the Siemens Speedstream modem (what you smashed). It was worse. It would sync, but I couldn't access the modem at all. So I was forced to connect the 2210 back up. AT&T has some of the worst vendors for DSL modems.
The problem is the modem o got AT&T and they offer me their DSL&router and I tell them not.
I got my own DSL&router all ready, so after end the call I drove to Micro Center and I bought a Netgear DGN-1000 and it's a lot better that they offer you, and I pretty much sure that I won't have any problem, some times depends the area where you leave, I leave on down town Tustin,CA so I'm good with Att even with my I phone 4, I work on hospital and I'm always have reception on Ground floor way bette
Oh man have I wanted to do the same thing with mine. I have that one from att, 2wire and some Motorola. Oh boy I had to keep calm and talk with the claims department to wave fee for the disconnection. It was crazy...& My wireless usb modem was doing the same thing. LOL Good for you making the switch. I didn't have the nerve to do the you tube thing :)
I have a at&t dsl modem the motorola (single port) well had itand it was by far the worst modem i ever had but im switching to netgear which is ridiculously fast. I recommend this or if your fed up with att , cable.
This DSL modem is such garbage. My internet just blipped out in the middle of writing this comment. Thanks for the upload, can't wait till i murder mine...

I have ATT DSL for 10 years and it dropped maybe once and that was due to bad weather....a friend was showing me CLEAR and he couldnt connect right away and it was very slow...
Yah I have at&t DSL it has never failed me. However I am looking to go 100% wireless within the next year if possable. clear is not yet available in my area. Can you travel from one city to another and still use your clear service ?
Yes, with the home or USB (dongle) modems you can use them anywhere where CLEAR Wimax (4G) service.
You can also get 3G/4G combination USB modem that will let you use 3G wireless anywhere outside of a Wimax 4G coverage area. I don't have that one because I tend to keep to the Chicagoland area.
have fun with clear capping your connection then not telling you why

it's got nothing to do with the modem. no matter how "fast" your modem is, if the service really sucks, then you're stuck.
