Thanx for posting this M8, I had to jam a screwdriver between the teeth of the cog and the ground. Then I got my fat friend to sit on the scoot whilst I hit a 17mm spanner with a hammer. No bent bolts and no chipped teeth Happy days. P.S. your English is fine , I live in Glasgow no one understands us.

I tried this metod "just for fun" after watching this video and i can say that there are better ways to do it.....well it works but there is a huge chance of bending the chinese weak bolt or the bushing!

Easiest way I have found that does not cause any harm to the engine is to pull out the spark plug turn the crank till the piston is all the way down in the cylender sleave then feed in a length of rope. DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT A COTTON ROPE then turn the nut off the rope does not compress and stops the engine from turning, when done just turn the engine back , remove the rope, put the plug in and you're good to go.

How did you get the starter thingie off? I just needed to change my belt because it was broken. I can't get the new belt on without taking the starter thingie, or the variator off. I bought an impact wrench but can't seem to get it to turn the nut off.

yes it worked but VERY risky...break that bolt off or crack your case and its all over...best solution buy a good strap wrench...not very expensive but well worth the money!!

OK, I had same problem then but I asked to my frind help me thats why I have putted that video "Friend for helping..." So ur friend keeps screwdriver steady and u Open the nut.

I cant be TIGHT !!! But u will get it open. Dont give up !!!

This method will only work on Chinese 50cc scoots and it may not work all the time because the bolt may be so tight that all you will succeed in doing is bending the case bolt you are using to rest the screwdriver on. The best way is to get a cheap 12 volt emergency impact wrench for $30 at the auto parts store. You will have the bolt off in seconds, and then it will tighten it up nicely too.

Yeah well, It's not very ethical, but I've heard of at least one guy who bought an impact and returned it after replacing his belt so it was free. LOL

Nothings gonna happend it if you just open variator and look if there is those gears, then its similiar. Dunno.

yh myn just open the cvt i think its called and have a look, but i been lookin around on the internet ect im pretty sure that this is the standard set up for belt drive scooters anyways. thanks anyway, your video helped tho thx :)

On part 2 video a guy is talking about leaving off a restrictor plate and that will give you 10-15 mph more. Is that true? Did you do that with yours? Can it cause any damage to the scooter leaving it off?
