  • unions have bankrupted america. if it wasnt for them manufacturing jobs wouldnt be outsourced.

  • The UAW is a collection of thugs too afraid to stand on their own two feet and proclaim, "I" am proud of my work, "I" am proud of my worth, and "I" will secure my own interests in this life as apposed to banding together like a bunch of babies and strong arming people with government force to get their way.

  • Unions have billions...why bail out billionaires???

  • My answer to the question : No the Unions should not be bailed out, they don't deserve a bail out anymore than the banks did.... I sure didn't have a hand in their back room deals... DID YOU???

  • I have worked under both flags Union & Non-Union. At one time in the past Unions were needed to break the grip under which the major

labor force was being held captive. The governments were the major ram with which most Unions were broken... Both factions have gone from one extreme to the other. Once again it is the political parties that need a good scrubbing. It is much safer all around to dispose of the snake, then to keep it for a pet....kind of like the fox in the chicken house.....

  • @utube917

If I was president, I'd ban the unions, hammer them with both RICO and the Patriot Act, execute all their members and supporters, and seize all their assets and property.

  • I can't understand how people are still claiming that unions are the way to go. It obviously doesn't work. Their high wages and outragous demands have bled the industry dry. Unions were great during the 20s but we have LABOR LAWS and OSHA now. We have minimum wage, hour regulations etc. I don't know what you're talking about when you make it seem like you'll be a slave if you're not union. It's narrow minded. I'm not going to buy an inferior product just because it's American.

  • that what i mean here a dummy that is happy to work for less money but this whats wrong bringing the standard down in this country if you dont want the money go work at wal mart they want people that coward down and wont fight for themselves how about all you non union puks go to china and work iam sure you wont have to worry about being so called harrassed about joining a union hell thell let you work fifteen hours a day iam not sure but they might not go for the ass kissing over there

  • In texas and other southern states many of the home owners now fly the japanese flags in front of there homes. Stop the bleeding of USA Jobs. Buy Domestic American Made in stores and on line. Dont be like a Judas like many have become to there own country. USA country first!!!

  • Man what a snow job the main news media managed to pull off. But of course it was rather easy for them, since they were dealing with illiterates, whose IQ's were of a third grade level, with a comprehension factor of a first grader. (maybe kindergartner).

  • Now for all those that claim they voted for the CRIMINAL imposter Obama... You still think he is the MESSIAH??? Since you were stupid enough to vote for the IMPOSTER ... surely you are stupid enough to want a union with no secret ballot form of voting... After all there hasn't been a secret ballot for the presidency since the introduction of the Electoral

College. Gummit has its own kind of union and you are not included in their decision making....

  • What the rank and file don't understand ... is that they are the peons that are supporting the dead beat white collar lazy criminals... that are too lazy to put in a good days work. The thing is the unions have to pay 10% less then the prevailing federal wage... If they don't ... they are unable to compete, they don't last long, or they hang on by the shirt tail....

  • BAILOUT !!! Is nothing more than a cover-up for the Banks, and Unions. After all people these were the main sources that gave it their all in pushing GAFT, NAFTA, and the NAU corridor.... They moved their factories over seas and called it out-sourcing...all for the benefit of the American worker.... <<< if you believe that ... I have a sport SRX coupe deluxe Saucer I'll sell you for 3mil. ... top of the line... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • I agree with you. I am an autoworker and I have absolutly no problem reducing my wages to meet the market standard. However, the CEO's and other top management need to reduce theirs to match the competitors also. B3 excutives make close to 15 times that of forigen car companies CEO's

  • WOW!!! Where are the lawyers that are making a big deal when companies threaten, intimidate. and fire people who want to form unions.

  • if you want more information about the UAW CRAP look at coercive"CARD CHECK" union organizing victims speak out , this happen at the dana corp auburn hills,mi UAW LOCAL UNION 771 which the union chairperson has the power to have employee fired, i know i was one, but if you are of the special ones you can going around and stab employee's and nothing is done about it,

  • What makes the difference? I've seen teamsters cross a union picket line by the dozens. Once a SCAB always a SCAB !! Ha Ha

  • It takes fewer workers to produce a Honda than it takes to produce a Chevrolet.

The Japanese and German automakers are more technologically adept and modernized. The Japanese and German automakers make much greater use of advanced robotics and machine automation.

Add to this the fact that the American automakers are burdened with extravagant union benefit packages, and it's easy to see why the Big 3 are losing.

Let the big 3 die. They had their chance to modernize but they blew it.

  • No bailout, no loans for big 3/UAW. Think Chap. 11. The loans will never be repaid.

  • you talk like a man with a paper ass...just flutterin in the wind

  • Hey guy if it wasn't for Unions you would be working for pennies a day like the Japs.

  • Keep it up with teh unions..and ya wont have nowhere to make money anymore jackass..if nobody buys union made goods cause there taxed to death then u morons are out of bizzness...ohh thats right teh mob..ahheemmm union will take care of u right??LOL

  • are you really that unintelligent? no wonder this country is fucked! union made goods aren't taxed any more then other goods. imported items are undertaxed..or dare i say subsidized. look at levi strauss.they move production to mexico for cheaper labor, did you see the price of a pair of pants drop? not one dime, in fact it even increased some. so where is that money going?

  • nonunion contractors here bid jobs $10,000-$20,000 less than union to get the job, then pay their employees one third to a half as much with no benes.wheres all that money go?

  • Ileagals are now being hired in labor unions in boston ma also..They usemade up and stolen social security #'s..ive seen it.

  • Retard-A company has to make profit!!Its fucked because u think u are better and more special to do a job that somebody else would do for less and just as good..thats called competition!!Its elitist like u that fuck companys and push them jobs out of teh USA for anybody!!Union or NOT!!!

  • i know this is hard to explain, and i dont have enough space to draw a picture for you...union contractor bids $350,000 for a job, making a profit, paying workers pension and health, ins, etc. scab bids $330,000 paying 8 to 10 per hour, who reaps the profits? i kinda wish McCain Palin would have got it...she pledged to help the metally disabled

  • moron ppl are getting paid longer then teh time they worked..are u really that ill???

  • why dont you argue with facts, instead of just sputtering sentence fragments.

  • Cause it obvious u are dilusional..American Industry will die because of youre greed..Face it in a golbal market place union crap wont sell..Its funny that the libs are shouting save the big 3 ..but they are the ones that killed them...hahahah greedy fuckers will kill ya selves out of jobs..dumb fucks

  • Um, you miss yaik's point.

    Union production costs more...

    ..ie, it's a "union tax".

If you compare 2 products, one produced by unions and one not, and the non-union product costs less, then the difference can be described as a "tax".

  • foreign automakers pay more..MORE then us auto makers in wages...its the legacy costs the us automakers are dealing with. i remember a time when none would buy a foreign car because what went on in WWII...now what do they do? oh lets boycott Frace and have "freedom fries". as long as its a few cents cheaper, it doesnt matter who made it or where or under what conditions. those ppl are the downfall of this country

  • i make 12 dollars an hour and still manage to buy the majority of my goods from decent american companies...red wind boots, $180 a pair, and everyone at work brags they only pay $40 for texas steer boots...what they fail to realize is they buy 5 pair to my 1

  • whoops...i meant red wing boots..union made in usa, best boots a man can buy! sorry red wing, hope that helps lol

  • The "Japs", as you like to call them, have a higher standard of living than Americans on average.

    Hmmmm...how doe that work?

Oh, that's right. The Japanese make more from less.

    It's called, E-F-F-I-C-I-E-N-C-Y.

The Japanese use more robots than we do. There is no justification for paying a person to do a job that a robot could do.

  • wasnt happy the union was there

  • ok...he wasnt happy the union wasnt there....i get it...now when i am working my shit ass non union job, and bitch about it, im always told "if i dont like it, find another job" why should it be any differant for this guy, he dont like unions...go get a scab job in a "right to work"...more like "right to starve" state

  • Bailthemout!!??leftist do everything to kill american industry and now they want me to pay unions when i know they are teh ones that killed teh bissness!@!!They can fuck off..

  • spellcheck

  • fuck ya mother..I dont have time to correct everything ..u dont like well boohooo..fagot

  • no more bailouts

    stop the bleeding

7.7 trillion already spent on bailouts no end in sight

  • no more bailouts

  • All states and fed gov should be "Right to Work"

  • Can I tell you right to workers something you may not realize? It's less about right to work and more about the immediate factor of Detroit. If the big 3 don't get bailed out they'll skip chapter 11 and go straight to 7 because getting credit is impossible and nobody buys cars from a bankrupt company. So far so good right? Your factories in Spartans burg and San Antonio can hum a little harder to fill the void with all the car business going Southern!

  • Wrong, with the domestics gone the imports will see no need for that 'made in America' sticker and indeed go straight South to Mexico. As goes Detroit so goes San Antonio.

This is coming from someone closer to Bavaria than the Renaissance center.

  • let them go chapter 7 its okay.

There is allot of tooling and technology some investors (me included) will buy and continue production free of Unions

how do we know people will not buy a car from a company in bankruptcy? they buy them now with the knowledge this may be the inevitable.

I did hear Wagoner say there was a survey indicating 80% of people said they would not buy but I can tell you opposite

I also heard they pay 95% wages for a facility in shutdown and $105,000 to layoff a worker

  • A hell of a lot will be lost, and again I believe the imports will flee America as well. It's just the wrong damn time for it. Maybe chapter 11 is a good option but only with gov backup.

  • not really.

    people will always need cars.

there will always be some company to accomodate that need.

    its called capitalism.

my feeling is GM will reorganize without the Union's monkey on its back.

either way do not panic let it run its course without interference.

  • ......

Where on earth did I mention capitalism? Yes of course cars will be needed but without the domestics they might as well be produced in Mexico instead of Alabama since people will be buying imports anyway.

  • It's called capitalism indeed (is my point).

  • So what where they are produced.

If its economically feasible for them to be made in USA that is where they will be mad.

You must be a Union member. You are certainly not an MBA

  • I'm not even American dipshit, in fact a booming Volkswagen would be good for me (and they are doing better than Toyota is right now, few weeks ago Volkswagen was the largest company in the world in market cap). With the big 3 left there are no more incentives for the imports to produce statewide if Mexico is cheaper. Right now there are import duties, incentives for domestic building, and 'made in America' sticker. But I think the loss of the big 3 will be a big blow to that.

  • You language is uncalled for.

you will have to continue this conversation with some one that will tolerate it.

    C-yah

  • You pretty much insinuated I was being untruthfull or deceiving. That's how I took the "You must be a Union member." anyway.
