There are more than a billion (a BILLION) non-believers in the world today. If you add the ones who never thought about the true predicaments of their beliefs, the lazy ones, the ones who are too scared to leave their faith (rejection from community, family, friends, losing their job, etc.), you will soon realize that calling non-believers a minority is wrong and ridiculous. Obviously there amore non-believers than Jews and dozens of other religions put together.
If anyone's going to question about how the chances are so small that everything "came to be", think of this - out of billions and billions of planets, there is just one that is perfect for life. Now, if we never existed we wouldn't be here to question why we're not, yet just because we ARE here we need to believe in some higher power? Really? What Bill was saying is basically like a Jury saying, yes you have witnesses, fingerprints, blood splatter etc, but we're not convicting someone until a video is shown of them doing it
I've always thought; Perhaps in another world somewhere else in the universe, there is another race of sentient beings saying the same thing; Our planet is in too perfect a state and position for it to be coincidence. The universe is potentially infinite in space, so that means there are potentially an infinite amount of planets and thus, infinite possibilities for worlds able to sustain life. I think it's rather arrogant to think that only our planet is the one with the things we have.

Being an athiest from Britiain I am very dissapointed with the 44% mark!! I truly thought it was higher. However I am very impressed with 85% in Sweden. Keep up the science !

@RichyDYupYup A lot of Swedes still believe in a spiritual god tho. If you ask Swedes if they believe in God they will probably say no, but if you ask "Are you a Christian?" they will probably be a ton more "yes" answers.

Being an athiest from Britiain I am very dissapointed with the 44% mark!! I truly thought it was higher. However I am very impressed with 85% in Sweden. Keep up the science !

@RichyDYupYup A lot of Swedes still believe in a spiritual god tho. If you ask Swedes if they believe in God they will probably say no, but if you ask "Are you a Christian?" they will probably be a ton more "yes" answers.

@RichyDYupYup to be fair, less than 15% of us in the UK attend church at least once a month, and from personal experience (my grandparents like to go to midnight mass at christmas and i humour them), they're mostly old.
i think our percentage of deluded people will fall rapidly in the next 20-50 years.

It's a crazy thougth that just because you dont know something, you should just beleive what anybody tells you about the subject. When science fails, it just means it hasn't quite gotten there yet. There is never a reason to turn to religion to explain ANYTHING, especially anything scientific

Both are bigots, it's audacious for a finite being to suggest that there definitely is or isn't an omnipotent, omniscience etc being. There are arguments for both sides (there are actual proper deductive arguments for the existences of god, not that miracle shit).

If this is the level of discussion that's allowable on the privately-funded networks in America then I think western democracy is in serious trouble! I'm not worried about the faith/agnostic issue, I'm worried about the fact that a discussion can't be had. Perhaps American viewers are accustomed to this, but I find it intensely disturbing. You need to listen to the argument of the opponent, and not just break to a commercial when you're losing the plot.
