umm i believe thats a 2000 because i have one that is not vertical doors and did my research saying second generation is the first vertical doors mines is not vertical i believe i have the first generation but i might be wrong but i know mines is 1999 for a fact and that has different rear door.
@pongodude811 the first generation escalade was made from 1999 to 2000, so yours is a first generation. rear vertical doors (also known as barn doors) was added in 2000 as an option.
I was getting ready to buy a 99' Escalade from an old college roomate. I drove up to NJ to see the car, and was really dissapointed. Although the car only had 71,000 miles (extremely low for a V8 engine and 11 year old car), the car was NOT taken care of at all! The interior wreaked of his ex-girlfriend's cigarettes and was horribly dirty. The exterior needed thousands of dollars in repairs, with numerous dents, chips, scratches, and a broken side mirror. He's asking $3k so I'm sure he will sell
I was surprised to hear a chime in this 1999 Escalade, I thought the original Escalade would have used the flute-like tone like the Chevy and GMC Suburban used until 2000.
