  • This is so cool!

  • Had to laugh at "In this case we want a chin" I was picturing chinless babies after :)

  • The head forms are designed to give you the basic shape of a babies skull. you still have to do sculpting and you can add more clay in different areas on the face to come up with lots of cute looking baby scripts.

  • what was the name of the tool you had ?

  • @azaz874 the tool he cuts with in the beginning is a palette knife, its usually used to mix paint.

  • @TheDomoTomo okey, thanks :)

  • how long to you have to bake it and at what temp???

  • do you have to bake the clay??? and if you do how long and at what temp??? thank you who-ever can respond

  • what is this material? thanks!!

  • genialoso

  • I REALLY Wanna Do That 2 My Baby doll!:)

  • It looks like my baby brother Chaz!

  • the figure he put the clay on was made by him before...because it has to dry when you want to sculpt on it! it's a method a lot of people use ...i think most of the thumb-ups have never sculpted xD

  • How do you get the thing out of the middle??

  • Does anyone know if you can get this clay at Hobby Lobby? I really want to make a doll like the "Ryan" by Natalie Scholl. He's all sold out and the cheapest one is close to 300 dollars. :(

  • Do you jave to do 2 layers of clay?

  • I'm probably going to Michals this week and I might be getting some clay, and will do it over one of my regular dolls! I'll tell you how it turns out! Oh yeah, and how do make a closed eyed baby? BTW, That reborn baby doll is SO CUTE!

  • Solo una pregunta, el material con el que que pone las capas... ¿qué es?No se si es porcelana fría o arcilla polimérica (Fimo)!!Alguien me lo podría aclarar??

  • @miMenteLibre I think its 'Super Sculpey', its a neat malleable sculpting material, more reminiscent of plasticine but can be baked and stuff.

  • @frezze23 GRACIASS!! ^^

  • @miMenteLibre Joder que idiota soy. Si lo decía al principio!jejejeje!!

  • I wanted to make love and this guy gave me a hand job. Thanx a munch for cheapening the art!

  • Yes you too can sculpt, without actually having to. :D

  • there are some great mini babies on ebay just search "marzipan baby"

  • @miia4mason They aren't made from marzipan. That was a fake email circulating. They are sculpted from clay like this - only by someone actually talented. Search for Camille Allen instead of "Marzipan baby". By the way, I also sculpt mini babies.

  • i agree with jintianxiayue!

  • Sorry but I don't consider this sculpting at all. Whats the point of taking an already made figure and putting clay over it? It's like tracing somebody else's art work. If you use this method you'll never get to experience the true beauty of sculpting.

  • @jintianxiayue And like tracing - once someone becomes familiar with this shortcut of a technique, I'm sure they will try their hand at the (ahem) "true beauty of sculpting" and begin with their own base figure; because we all know how difficult it is to make an oblong shaped ball.

  • @wendykpa I want to sculpt my own dolls out of the soft vinyl, but how do you do it with out the dummy doll, how to they make these reborn doll kits? I'd love some advice on it if you know anything or web sites? Thanks,

    Jen

  • @jintianxiayue I agree 100% with you. How is this sculpting when you're putting it over such a detailed armature?

  • @jintianxiayue If your so good then make your own video!

  • @jintianxiayue This is great for beginners you get a nice feel for sculpting but like you said Its not real sculpting at all.

  • @jintianxiayue actually, the "sculpt" he put the clay over was designed for sculpting a reborn, it isn't an actual doll kit ;-)

  • @jintianxiayue Maybe they are just trying to show you an EASY way to do it. I'd rather not sit here and watch people do it complicated-like.

  • Not exactly "sculpting" when you're really recovering an *existing* doll head. ?

  • Not exactly "sculpting" when you're really recovering an *existing* doll head. ?

  • creepy at 4:55

  • Great trick... of using a model plastic baby head then putting the clay over it. I didn't think of that... sure it saves on clay... instead of making the whole thing out of clay.

  • I want to be that talented!

  • FREAK BABY o.O

  • So does this sculpty stuff cure hard enough to remove from the form with out loosing it's shape? Or is the form and eyes oven cured with too?

  • This is the beauty of art TT^TT

    Amazing.

  • its lovly

(if you think you are so weird that thing is ugly i collect those dolls)

  • its scary when they put the eyes on lol

  • I don't get it.. I'd rather sculpt people, not babies. If a person looks weird it's easier to get away with.

  • Omg that doll is freAkieee O_o

  • Why would you make a baby sculpt of that guy from The Hills Have Eyes!?

  • What a satisfying and amazing art. I love YouTube-I've never seen this before!

  • Is this a vinyl head.... GOSH, I have tons of vinyle doll heads laying around! And umm.... Those foam make-up brushed are JUST like these her!

  • I sculpt in clay & make the molds for ceramic dolls. I think I really need to get some proper tools like he is using. Thanks for all who place these videos on you tube.

  • where can you buy the plastic head that was used as a base underneath the clay? I've never seen this kind of thing before & I had no idea you could cook the plastic!

  • Go to their web site it has a link at the above info on the person who placed the video & you should be able to write directly to them

  • do you know where I could get those tools? I don't have a local Secrist dealer like the videos assumes...

  • 1:22 looks so cool!!

  • LOLOL OMG thats scary!!! eww that gave me the hibby-gibbies!

  • he makes it look so easy lol

  • this baby looked like at 3:24

  • scary looking baby.

  • This is s cool ! thanks for sharing

  • You have just put clay over an already formed head. AND I certainly don't believe you can bake this polymer head in the oven because of the plastic head used as the armature underneath. I can't for the life of me understand what this could be used for unbaked, and WHY do it when you have a nearly identical plastic doll head to begin with. I don't have videos yet, but I will-of SCULPTURE.

  • I'm with you on this one!

Where is the sculpting? this isn't sculpting.... don't get me started!

It should be called 'putting thin sheets of super sculpey on a dolls head'

  • Bedeekin: What do u use for armature?

Have you EVER heard of air drying Sculpey? I even emailed Sculpey and said no, it wouldn't hold up. I've heard it, though. What are you presently sculpting? I'm down with from a vertabrae surgery, so can't do much. Started-instead of a 3D sculpture-a mixed media relief...and found out 2D scultping is harder to do! I may have to wait til my arms are strong enough again. That new ultralight is great for armature, but very very soft.

  • "It's called an angles touch, you won't find it any medical journals"

You won't find it in any medical journals because it's actually called a philtrum.

  • It's like God is putting videos on youtube.

  • o mio shtee blabla ba.. teni you book niy jajaja

  • are you able to take of the mold and are you able to root it ?

  • All the rooting must be done before you bake. The plastic mold remains inside. It is baked at a low temperature that doesn't melt the plastic or singe the mohair. An alternative to rooting the hair in the clay is to glue it on post baking.

  • What temperature should you bake it?

  • Depends on the clay and thickness...The Sculptey I have is is 265 degrees F for 15 minutes. Different types and brands may have different times and temps, and they alll say not to exceed temp or bake times recommended.

  • 275

  • so beautiful!

  • lovely work. xx

  • When you put the clay oer the other head, how can you take off the mold, so you casn root, or do you not root, or....

  • ok, how do you harden the clay?

  • you gotta bake it.. its great cos you can paint it with genesis too.

  • i have a question this just for polymer clay, what kind of paint is the best and will look the best on it?

    thanx and great vid

  • it is called genesis

  • Amazing!!!!!!!!

  • what type of clay is this?

and where can i get it?

  • Polymer Clay

    Craft store

  • It's called Super Sculpey

  • Bedeekin: Would like to keep in touch to collaborate and such, but I think we'd have to always hit "reply" to each others' messages in order to receive an email that you/me have responded to each other. I hit reply, though, to your reply to mine below, and it ended up as a NEW comment above...don't know where this "reply" is going to take me. Hope you get an email message.

  • That is really amazing! That is soo cool on how you guys made these baby dolls and i always wandered how you guys made them!! Now i know how you guys do it!! Keep it up!!

  • WoW! very nice.Where can I buy the tools you used.Sorry for my bad english ,I hope you understand

  • In medical journals if you see it mentioned at all it's called a philtrum which is from the Greek for "love filter". One of those weird random facts you come across sometimes.

  • its a gd way

  • I stack !!

  • COOL

  • GREAt

  • that is amazing, so clever, every fine detail is slowly crafted SUPERB
