@theashleyh13purple its just you camera/ webcam. the photo was very large in demension so it had a larger denisty of pixels. if you are using a webcam try playing with the demensions and see what happens. some looke better smaller and others larger.

If you are using this tutorial to change the eye colour with Gimp 2.6, Here's another tip:

If you want the eyes to look deeper and prettier, use the burn tool and click around inside the eye. It makes the eye look so much more awesome! Worked for me! ;)

It's good that you made this, but there is the masking function, it's not the best. Duplicate the layer, colorize the layer and then mask everything you don't need. While masking, you can change the colors from back to white, and vice versa, if you made something wrong. Then flatten the pic, and u're done. Using the blur tool, to soften the edges of the eye... It just doesn't seem real. I don't want to judge you, but it's just something I know, because I've been using Gimp for years.

When you do the "colorize" part, it would be good to mention that you can also use the "curves" afterwards from the same drop-down menu as that can add an extra dimension to the color change aswell. But really nice tutorial missy :-)

@coolfatkid119 no it wont unfortunatly but i was trying it out on my eyes and a thought of a way to sort of "brighten" the eyes for colouring.

beside the smudge tool there is a gadget called the dodge and burn tool. select it and set it to dodge.

then you just highlight the places you wanna make lighter and then follow the rest of the tutorial.

@crazybutbarefooted thanks for the comment ^_^ i think that quiet a few people might have had this problem too :] i think it might be beacause your eyes are brow or a dark colour. what i found worked best was to first colour the eyes white but make the opacity low enough for the detail of my eye to still show through.

after that i just coloured it like normally (on a third layer) and it gave off a really nice effect :3 hope this works out for you too ^_^

how did you zoom into you eye that clear? when I zoom into my eye it gets all fuzzy then i colorize it and you can't see my puple

@Cinnamonroll4569 well the fuzzy thing only happens if its not a very high quality picture. it happens to me when i use my camera too. if you can't see the pupil you could try making a fake one by using the same process. if you still see a lot of pixel sqaures you should blur it them out first with the blur tool. the blur tool it the raindrop shaped one by the way :]

not sure why it didnt show up here but when i was editing another pic the yellow was showing through. so what i did was take the eraser too and make it small enought for the pupil and highlight and very slowly erase the yellow.
