It is not illegal but u will find it harder to pass an emissions test for mot and you could get pulled over for it being to loud. i have had my mini for years and have never got pulled over(just dont rev past the pigs). hope this helps.

also would it be better to have a straight through pipe rather than a manifactured one if that makes sense?
