Oh, and about jetpack, it would be interesting if it was limited in some way, maybe you have to fall at certain speed before you can activate it (So walking is still useful on land instead of always flying).
@Worstplayer I think I'll limit the jetpack by having it require fuel, which would require work to obtain. That way its not entirely trivial to jet around.
@guygie1994 Yeah, ziplines would be good. I originally thought a grapple would work. On the other hand ziplines are a bit like bioshock:infinite so maybe not :)
@zoombapup Grappling hooks also fit well with the flying ships theme. Boarding ships using a grappling hook sounds like fun. (I've always wanted to create a proper grappling hook in a 3D game, but it has been quite low on the list of things to do unfortunately)
@Rc1290Dreadnought I've done one once before, so its not a big issue to try and do it again. One problem is that ships will generally be above you. I guess they could be triggered so that when you're near a ship you mount it automatically.
@zoombapup Oh, I meant, physically climbing or swinging onto another vessel. ;)
Keeping walking physics from freaking out when standing on a moving ship, might be a bit tricky, but it seems to me that it is cooler if you physically have to get to the bridge, in order to control the ship, than when you magically take control by being near it and pressing a button.
It would also mean that the grappling hook, or a jetpack, is actually required to get safely on board.
@Rc1290Dreadnought Yeah, I agree it would definitely feel better. Its really a practicality right now. Eventually once I've updated the physx version I'll have a play with that. But right now I want to get a "first pass" working for test purposes.

That in-game editor thing is a pretty good idea.

maybe you can add something like catapults or ziplines to sort of connect the fragments with each other?
