  • THIS IS FUCKING MAGIC. i have other way to put it

  • Brilliant bass playing

  • BEST FUCKING INTRO EVER!!!!!

  • Listen to Motley Crues God Bless The Children Of The beast, and you'll hear a real similarity to this songs intro.

  • love the album cover: A frog killing what looks like satan! lol

  • @loonie26 Its like the DeathFrog. lmfao

  • Last night when I came back from work I spoke to some german metal head going to a festival in my town, and we had this conversation about thrash n stuff(he was wearin a sacred reich shirt). Then I asked him if he knew Flotsam and Jetsam, 'I LOVE YOU MAN!'

    Metal ain't dead folks : )

  • At 1:48 it sound like "the years of decay" by Overkill \m/

  • @slayersangelripper83 Thanks to you I am now aware of the magic that is called overkill.

  • @GanjaPharmzor lol no problem bro

  • TUBESTEAK!!!!!

  • sounds alot like motley crews god bless the children of the beast crazy dog eat dog world isnt it peace !!!!!!!!

  • Come on, people did you ever wonder where Metallica got Jason from?

  • The guitar that starts at 1:48 sounds a lot like Overkill's The Years of Decay. No actually, correction, The Years of Decay sounds like this.

  • Seriously Metal is not one of the best but "THE BEST" music in this world yet some of the fans are total idiots....I mean there is no point in comparing one band with another, This is Music guys and not Olympics so shut the fuck up and enjoy what u like \m/

  • what album is better this or no place for disgrace

  • @XxmusixlordxX : Both are brilliant!!! :)

  • The intro sounds like Dark Angel hells on its kness.

  • The description says this song has a nice intro, MAN FUCK THAT!!! THIS SONG HAS AN EPIC INTRO! MAN FUCK EPIC!! This intro is so beautiful, the first time i ever heard it i freaking loved it, it's like food for the soul....

  • Flotsam and Jetsam just popped into my mind when I was listening to this bass solo of Jason (1989, Great gig..) I'm surprised this band got so little attention. When I hear the opening minutes, the harmonics, the acoustics, WOW. Truly shocking this band always stayed 'underground' if that's the correct term..

  • this song by far tops any thing metallica has ever done not speak of flotsam's whole when the storm comes down cd it's the fuckin badest cd ever made by anybody

  • Metallica, Megadeth, Flotsam and Jetsam haters and metal haters in general can suck my dick, suck my big exciting dick you fucking scums.

  • Reminds me of Mercyful Fate. Must be some cross influence there. :) Awesome stuff!

  • I met Eric A.K. at a concert in Tucson a while back. It was a small club show and I got to meet him, and he's definitely one of the coolest people Iv'e ever met. Hes so chill and down to earth

  • great song (Y) who is the vocal ?

  • This song is just so awesome.

  • The gutiars in the intro also sound very much like Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhodes "Diary of a Madman" ;)

  • i brought cassette tape of this and am not regretting it

  • My First Time Listening To F&J And They Kicks Fucking Ass!!!! There Is Also Alot Of Metallica Hate Here I Love Metallica,I Only Listen To Thier First 4 Albums Though But Ya This Shit Rocks!!!

  • Why can't everyone like both Metallica as well as Flotsam and Jetsam?? They are both thrash bands from the same time period and both bands had Jason Newstead at one point or another. I just don't see why everyone is comparing this band to Metallica

  • so much hate on metallica :o

well, they are one of the best bands ever sooooo yeah. for the haters: .l.

  • @563985j some people just let anger get over them. They love metallica they just wished bands like flotsam and jetsam were better known

  • @basssican agreed dude. I mean there are some awesome bands that dont get the deserved respect and fame. and others just are overated. :x

  • @basssican st. anger

  • @basssican Yeah, I sure let st. anger get over me..

  • @basssican couldn't have said it better myself

  • @563985j i dont think u can call us haters, some are trolls, but the rest are more dissapointed cuz metallica realeased gold until the black and slowly died off, while other bands r just as old but realeased way, and i mean WAY better material than metallica has in like 20 years

  • @skaterdouche4 true fans just accept their band as it is. I love metallica in the begginning and love them now.

  • @563985j Metallica only has 4 good album. Their first four.

  • @563985j best bands at SUCKAGE. I deny, defy... and spread a little HATE WORLDWIDE!!!

  • This is the best song ever made, them vocals.. that beautiful music and melody! SO UNDERRATED.

  • Metallica , Pantera , Slayer , Eviction , Flotsam and jetsam are the best!

  • This was a PERFECT album. tell me ONE FUCKING THING that's wrong with it...

  • @bullettomy7thheart The only thing wrong with this album... is that it ends!

  • What year did this album come out? The verse riff sounds a lot like Metallica's Sanitarium. James admitted to lifting the main verse riff from some band that he said would remain "nameless"

  • @BreakPoint778 it came out in 1986 same as master of puppets

  • @BreakPoint778 Yes I do agree it does sounds like Sanitarium or could it be Testament's Dirge?

  • @BreakPoint778 the band james is talking about is bleak house the song is rainbow warrior

  • @BreakPoint778

sounds like Fade to Black and Sanitarium. I have yet to read any comments on youtube ever about this band...that's purely my opinion.

  • @PositivelyBored sounds like "The killing of mother earth" by a new band called Tantara.

  • @BreakPoint778 Yup... stolen only months later :/

  • @BreakPoint778 That "nameless" band is known as Bleak House, and the song was "Rainbow Warrior".

  • @BreakPoint778 Rainbow Warrior by Bleak House

  • im from Tempe and i have to say that we have a few newer bands here that are pretty good (Psychostick, Job For A Cowboy, Jimmy Eat World) but bands like Flotz and Sacred are the true local band kings. and all around thrash kings! FLOTS TILL DEATH!

  • @MetallicXXX9 Every true Thrash fan knows this album,no need for praising from lists,it is a classic.

  • This band is so underrated,I only heard of it because of Jason Newstead...

  • Jason Newstead kicks ass

    Voivod knew that.

  • @Megathrax84 and OZZY !!!!!

  • I think I just fell in love with Newstead, in a platonic way

  • Vergleicht mal das Intro mit dem von Metallica's "Fade to Black".......daran sieht man mal das Kirk Hammet bei Flotsam war, bevor er zu Metallica ist...............

  • Ultra-Jizz @_@

  • Flotsam and Jetsam will be more appreciated as time goes on, a band this good cant be underrated forever

  • Guys his bass was lowered because James and Lars thought he couldn't replace Cliff and everyone on this earth thought that he couldn't replace Cliff but he did an awesome job and that's why I love Jason he played the best he could and It was perfect for me so shut up and listen to this awesome song

  • These guys aren't underrated. People are just unknown of their existence. But sadly that's how it goes, majority of the people can't find music by themselves. Instead they isten to mainstream and radio hits...

  • OH MY FUCKIN GOD HOW COME THAT THEY ARENT AS FAMOUS AS METALLICA?

    THAT INTRO, THE SOLOS, EVERYTHING

Doomsday for the deceiver > every Metallica Record

    a million times

  • @bergAgreb The intro and all is awesome. But ONE reason why they maybe didn't get as far as Metallica is that the awesome intro is a Motley Crue ripoff? It's awesome anyways

  • @bergAgreb cause the singer sounds like he is wanking off the cookie monster in a dustbin

  • @bergAgreb maybe because they didn't sell out. idk

  • i really like flotsam and jetsam they are excellent but im not into the kind of sound on the singer in this band. although the instrumental part is great!

  • man, fuck metallica... all i gotta say

  • @Urbshanator what???!! fuck u man

  • @basssican but honestley that also was the first thing that came to my mind.. If you're objecive you can't deny the similarities..

  • @Urbshanator GO AND DIE !!!!!

  • @Urbshanator metallica never let jason to shine MTFKR!, Fuck metallica!

  • @Urbshanator fuck you

  • @Urbshanator I like metallica

  • @Urbshanator only Motorhead is aloud to say fuck Metallica. ONLY Motorhead.

  • @killemo213 No only Slayer or Pantera not Motorhead! Metallica is the best!

  • @luc00leh Motorhead coverd Sandman and called it Fuck Metallica

  • @killemo213 And?

  • @luc00leh need i say more? look it up, Motorhead Fuck Metallica

  • @killemo213 No they didn't, whoever posted the video on youtube called it "fuck Metallica", Motorhead just called it Enter Sandman. They have also covered Whiplash.

  • @killemo213 Or should I say, whoever made the video. It appears as Enter Sandman on the 'ECW Extreme Music' compilation as far as I know.

  • @Urbshanator Im with you Metallica put nothing out but crap after Master of Puppets.

  • @MrMetalBill I couldn't agree with you more. when Cliff died so did Metallica.

  • @MrMetalBill well to be honest i liked the albums, And justice for all and Metallica they were good just after metallica it went down y'know?

  • great album

  • I have this tape..... good tape. :-)

  • great song, talks about some real stuff also

  • Comment removed

  • really? jason chose to not let his bass tracks be heard on and justice for all?

I heard two reasons behind the bass not being heard.

one was because jason was the new guy, lars and james were still grieving over cliff.

another was that jason's bass was very similiar to the rhythm guitar lines, so it was hard to tell them apart.

  • wow this song is amazing...

  • best metal song ever

  • @comaofsouls For sure belongs in the top 10... And I even think no place for disgrace would make that list...

  • My mom is telling me these guys are like the king of speed... Well, lets see... xP

  • this cover album was in the movie sleepaway camp 2...inside the cabin where angela had all those kids dead...it was lying around

  • 8:43 - 8:50 .. Hit that note Nu metal bands

  • such a pity they didnt get recognized this wudve out sold puppets possibly one of the best of the greatest year for music, crazy singer i put him up with rob halford king diamond bruce dickinson and jim gillette \m/

  • the beginning sounds beyond the realms of death by judas priest

  • 8:44 holy shit man, did he got kicked in the balls while recording xD.

    Metal masterpiece indeed

  • a true metal masterpiece

  • ..first time listening. Dude, gimme a guitar, I wanna play this!! :P

  • thats it..

    das is für DIRK SCHULTE....danke

  • @bassican You can obviously hear a bass track on the black album, and sorry about st anger, i meant the demos they recorded before he left. Theres only 2, the old version of frantic and something else I cant remember.

  • @GNRmadman you can hear the bass tracks on black album but doesnt mean jason had a challenging bassline that would demonstrate his talents. where as in cliffs era they played pure thrash and you can hear cliffs monstrous playing throughout the songs on and justice for all u cant hear jasons playing at all. with flotsam u can tell how awesome he is

  • @GNRmadman Metallica wrote all of St. Anger in the studio, there was no material created before that and Jason had already left the band by this time. After reading a few of your posts here, ive come to the conclusion that you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @bassican hey you do know that jason chose not to have his base heard on AJFA?

he said himself that he did not think he was confident enough in himself to let himself be heard on it very much. But I love the remastered AJFJ. But you are right. He as a player is underrated. But he sounded great on the black album and st. anger, and he still plays killer live when he played for metallica a couple months ago. And look at Seattle 1989? Epic Stuff there.

  • @GNRmadman I never heard anything bout Jason not having his bass tracks heard. I always heard that James and Lars lowered his bass. He left the band by St. Anger too.

  • @basssican your right, they turned his bass down to send a message to jason saying "ur not cliff"

  • @basssican Yes, they lowered it so you can barely just hear his plektrum, because they weren't sure how he would be recieved after Cliff

  • @GNRmadman well jason didnt play in st.anger

  • @GNRmadman i agree with everything you're saying except for the fact that jsaon did not play on St. Anger. Also, Metallica say themselves that they mis treated jason when he first joined, and they told him to turn down his bass.

  • @GNRmadman: youre an idiot dude, he wasn't even in the band during st.anger, that's Bob Rock's sound you're in love with..ALSO metallica themselves said they turned the bass down all the way and jason has said he is unhappy with his bass sound on AJFA

  • @GNRmadman actually on st.anger their producer bob rock plays the bass

  • @GNRmadman on St.Anger the position of bass was filled bij Bob Rock ;)

  • @GNRmadman If you really want make arguments, you have GOT to get your facts straight...Bob Rock played bass on St. Anger bro.

  • @GNRmadman he did nothing on st anger?

  • Excellent song.

  • Mike Gilbert one of the greatest and underrated guitar players.

  • dude that riff is awesome

  • My favorite album by them, this is also my favorite song by them, next is Hammerhead.

  • 1:49 it kind of sounds like the years of decay. But this was before the years of decay.

  • Damn I should have known this band earlier!!

  • This is Fucking Awesome!

  • If only stuff like this was popular today... the world would be a much better place.

  • I agree 100% now we got this garbagey pop shit like the jonas brothers. its bull. this is good music. THRASH TILL DEATH!!!!!!!!!

  • @homocide231

but nick jonas is such a good songwriter... nah XD he can choke on a cock and die for all i care

  • i know right? he is the downfall of music today. its really great when your base audience is 8 years old. they should have to file as sex offenders.lol

  • @homocide231

dude, i don't even know how people can like their music...if they were old men, no one would buy their music

  • i want to light them on fire!

  • @homocide231

you have no idea what I want to do to them :D

  • it would be fun to make them do a tour with the Wiggles.lmao!

  • All i have to say is respect. Its only underrated by the mtv industrial community. All the metallers know what this and contributed to thrash.

  • I was quite sorry back then that Metallica didn't choose some other bass player. I liked F&J very much....

  • yes guys u are right ...flotsam and jetsam arent so famous cause they are nt pussys and they dont sell the band in Mtv or whatever... they arent emo motherfuckers...that say "we paly rock"and noone can hear any guitar .... just a bit ..Older years were excellent for metal...Like Priest years..no bullshit just pure metal ... Thrash,Heavy,Poser ... And i guess that flotsam and jetsam if were in those days they would be famous these days

  • Let me guess the intro also sounds like...

Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms Of Death

    Styx - Suite Madame Blue

    Great big deal

  • and intro solo sound like Motley Crue - God Save the childern of the beast....xD

  • Beautiful intro, amazing riffs, simply kickass. Keep Thrashin' \m/

  • Fuckin loved this back in the day from the first day it came out, still fuckin love it now, you can bet your ass that this is the album that made the minds up for metallica when they were looking for a replacement for Cliff Burton !!.

  • the intro sounds like God Bless the Children of the Beast by Motley Crue

  • i agree with you....xD just like Motley Crue xD

  • this reminds me of set the world afire

  • epic. I've loved this song since i first heard it, the into, solos, and lyrics are simply amazing. thanx for posting...with the acoustic intro(for some reason some idiots hate that intro....why?)

  • yeah man some poser once tryed to tell me the intro to No Love was gay. lol

  • 5 stars

normaly i get bored by (thrash) songs longer than 5 minutes, but this one not

  • fates warning, helstar, and if you ever heard of san antonio slayer that the bands that played during there era or that is my era, another band that kinda sounds in this same genre is sanctuary

  • KICK ASS EITHER WAY

  • Yeah true!!

  • The beginning of this song has been ripped off from Motley Crue's '83 'God Bless the Children of the Beast'.

  • flotsam's sounds a whole lot better.

  • @basssican They perfected it.:)

  • not at all... the guitar is wayyy different

  • @mercuryflare fuck motley crue GLAM BLOWS, THRASH FOREVER

  • One of the guitar riffs.. it sounds like Megadeths In My Darkest Hour. Did Mustaine rip it off?

  • muito doido ,metalllllllllll

  • 3:06 starts soundin like four horseman

  • completely right! you have good ears.

  • Not bad :)

  • After 20 years i'm still not bored to listen to this album.A pity that Jason left this band for Metallica where he was badly treated and underestimated as a bass player.

  • I know man. The main thing you just said was underestimated. They never let him show his music on the albums like Cliff and the ape Trujillo.

  • Lars and James are bloody Ego's.They don't act like band members

  • i think on entirety he wrote one song

    my friend of misery.

    woooo...

  • @basssican "That ape Trujillo", lol!

  • @basssican "The ape Trujillo", lol!

  • @canaerique2012 I think any bassist joining Metallica to fill the shoes of Cliff Burton was gonna have a hard time, it`s a real shame he was restricted the way he was.

  • these guys are underrated as hell

  • first song ive ever heard by them. its not really like any other thrash, maybe because of the halford-like singer, but its not bad. its a pretty cool song

  • intro sounds great, ...however i doubt that it would have existed without the influence of fade to black.

  • <
