  • long live Joe Higgins its time for a revolution comrades.

  • And to think that B-B-B-Bertie is still De Teeshock (not for much longer mind) and Joe Higgins lost his seat. What sort of a country have we become?

  • Socialism for Ireland and the world, workers of the world unite!

  • @geilbear The Irish are too stupid for Socialism to work in Ireland

  • @yam500 Hmmm, im an anarchist these days so i doubt socialism would work but i don't think its cause they're too stupid.

  • Only Sinn Fein can save the republic.

  • ha ha yeah right. they have no policies. go to their site read it for yourself. just airy fairy notions. at least they have given up blowing people up.

  • Shell to the sea, a two tier medical system, using Shannon airport by American soldiers, mortgages and housing costs going over the top. SF is against all that nonsense. Under SF you will see all those issues addressed in a way that will benefit the common man.

  • ha. sure we will. shame we will never see them get in cos who in their right mind would vote for them? they can say they are against all these things but do they know how to accomplish them? no. and no one will go into government with them anyway so it doesnt matter. dont know why they even bother.

  • Keep your eye on Waterford and watch for the name of David Cullilane. I think you will find that there are plenty of people who will vote for him. Also at the end of the day you will see FF, FG, and others surely will work with SF.

  • "The two biggest parties say they won't share power with Sinn Fein because of its economic policies: It wants to force builders to cut house prices and hasn't ruled out raising taxes on companies to finance public services, prompting some executives to warn against the party." (Bloomberg)

  • What do you think its more exceptable to the Irish people to rob banks than to accept money from people who have lots of it. The republic doesn't need saving it's doing better than ever before.

  • Oh really! Then I guess everything that was stated in this video is just made up. Oh sure its alright to give Shell anything it wants and screw the people living in Mayo. Oh sure it ok to have mortages rates going through the roof not to mention giving away Irish land to help Medical companies gain more profit.

  • but it's ok to murder gardai if you need to like is that it. I can't understand these twisted morrals. The other parties fair enough but sinn féin are in no position to be up in a moral high horse. The interest rates are EU not Fianna Fáil. The idea with the land is to provide a better health service because the more people who are in private beds the more room their is for the public patients in public hospitals.

  • So out of 250 million sperm you were the one that got through. It only goes to show us that God has a sense of irony. Please do the Irish a favor and don't reproduce.

  • A typical reply from sinn fein. They know they have no real policies and resort to insults and lowest common denominator politics such as no bin taxes. Sinn Fein might take care of the Rossport 5 and the McCabe murderers, but they'd screw the rest of us with their communist nonsense. Half of their votes come from IRA lovers, and the other half come from people who are too uneducated to know any better.

  • Then go vote for FF or FG and let the lies and bribes continue. Let the health care morph into a 2 tier system and let the mortgage rates go through the ceiling. You are a young man and you will find yourself unable to buy a home in Ireland. But don't worry because Shell to Sea in Mayo will prosper.

  • If you are literally talking about mortgage rates - the Irish government has nothing to do with that, interest rates are controlled by the ECB. You obviously are not aware that Sinn Fein are the only party who will NOT remove stamp duty for first time buyers.

  • The real shell to sea issue is that our national resources are being given away for nothing, not the scaremongering about dangerous pipelines. The real issue is being ignored because Sinn Fein spend so much time hyping up the unhappy locals, and theres little public interest in that.

  • The government has influence in the everyday life of people. Its actions or lack thereof will impact upon all of the issues I mentioned. Giving away Irish land and the pain and suffering of the local people is NOT acceptable to me neither are the other things mentioned by myself. Tell me why all these things are acceptable to you. I just don't understand.

  • what exactly you are complaining about? What travesty is taking place in mayo? The government CPO'd some land, a gas pipeline will be built. This area is extremely rural. Gas pipelines are built all over the world, everybody has been compensated for their loss of land. The safety standards of the pipeline have been reviewed with by an independent group. Other than NIMBYism, there is no real issue here.

  • Rossport has been blown out of all proportion because left wingers prefer to jump on bandwagons like this rather than discuss real politics. Sinn Fein have nothing to say to 90% of people. Like I said: Half of their votes come from IRA lovers, and the other half come from people who are too uneducated to know any better. Thats why Sinn Fein don't even cost their proposals!

  • You know that the good people of Mayo have a different opinion of Shell. The natural resources of Ireland should not be given away. Equal access to quality health care must be the goal an enlightened government. The lies and bribes must stop now. No Irish land should not be given to the rich companies either Shell or the Health care industry. I'll be in Waterford next week and I would like to introduce you to some well educated people who think differently than you.

  • I agree about the natural resources, I agree equal access to healthcare should be the aim. I agree lies and bribes must stop now. But Sinn Fein are not the only alternative. They oppose private industry and enterprise. It is the private sector that has made Ireland the richest country in the world. Private healthcare has a role, it exists in scandanavia too. Do you think its right that there are 1000 private beds in public hospitals?

  • In your arguement you have talked about injustices, and that sinn fein will fix it. You have no mentioned once HOW sinn fein will fix it. Sinn Fein have said they will increase corporation tax. Do you realise how vital the current rate of corporation tax is to Ireland success? Even proposing this shows how off the wall Sinn Feins policies are. The people in roscommon will get their field back, the mccabe killers will be out of prison, and none of us will have any jobs!

  • Can you tell me what Shell pays for the gas taken out of Ireland?

  • The Irish Government uses the same system as every other country in regard to oil and gas exploration. They tax the proceeds of the sale of that gas, that's how the revenue for the state is generated. If you charge the oil companies for drilling and removing the gas, who do you think is ultimately going to pay more for the product? You, because the oil companies will still want to maintain the same margin of profit.

  • Even in the USA we do NOT give away natural treasures. In Alaska every resident receives money from the state because of the oil company money paid to the state. ONLY in Ireland is the natural gas given to the big companies for FREE.

  • It's paid to the state though taxes on the sales of that oil, that's my point. They do not pay the state for oil they extract.

  • @chairde stupid beyond words isn't it...

  • The bus driver (Bertie), got the bus stuck in the mud. First you must fire the Bus driver. Then you can put caps on mortgage increases, deny the give away of Irish land and out law the private take over of the health system. Place a tax on the gas taken from Mayo and arrest all of those who have taken bribes.

  • If Ireland is the richest country in the world then why are there homeless on the Dublin streets?

  • I agree about giving gas away for free. Are mortgage increase caps Sinn Fein policy? How does that work? Taxpayers pay bank on behalf of householders? You talk about private takeover of healthsystem, do you not realise it is already private? And has been for 30 years? Get private beds out of public hospitals! Why don't you support that?
