For all you idiots who think this ride sucks Blue Streak at Cedar Point is almost the exact same height so shut up and if you STILL dont think this ride is fun then why are you watching it anyway?
This ride is much more intense in real life. It was my very first rollercoaster :) I loooove the airtime it gives and it's worth the half hour wait. Im just hoping that with untamed this ride will have a shorter wait!!!!! Lol :D

Just a word of advice to anyone who's going to ride this: TAKE OFF YOUR SEAT BELT!! or at least loosen it as much as you can. Your butt will fly off the seat and it's SO MUCH FUN! (don't worry, the lap bars keep you from flying out lol) If you don't loosen or take off your seat belt, then this ride is no fun.

@PeeweeLamby No, it still is. Rode it 5 or 6 times today-front, back and middle...it is still as smooth as it has ever been. You want to see what a traditional wooden coaster feels like, try Predator at Darien Lake or Cyclone at 6 Flags NE....Yankee Cannonball doesn’t even qualify in my book as a woodie, it’s far too smooth for that. It’s more along the lines of El Toro, a hybrid. Not a Canobie fan but they really do maintain this coaster well-they have to, it’s their signature ride.
Been on this coaster many times and it is a classic. If you like wooden rollercoasters you got to visit the park and ride it. Although the park, in recent years, have removed some classic rides (like the very rare Satilite Jets which Canobie named Kosmojets and a classic Paratrooper and Galaxi Coastter) it still has that old charm of family parks from the past.
I HATED THIS RIDE SOOO MUCH WHEN I WENT ON IT!! I've only been on it once, and i was screaming soo hard. Every slope lifted me out of my seat.....................I can't wait to go again next time ;)

@scooter2494 You're right...shit flags wishes they had a coaster that ran this well and this smooth. There isn't a wooden coaster in ANY 6 flags than can hold a candle to Yankee Cannonball. Canobie has taken care of this ride, unlike shit flags that throws them up and lets them rot.
went on this two days ago..the ride rocks it might not have the highest speed or biggest drop but since it was made in the 1930's its pretty cool its still around. but the best part is this ride is wicked fun!
@UDSMiNSaN3CRazZz31 if you have ever been on it you'd think differently. with every drop, you get a huge jolt. also the drops are like 50ft up untill the end where they are like 10 ft.

The point of this ride is to give you the thrill of going up and down unexpectedly while the limit of your cart is at a really high speed. Drops are boring. There just the same everytime. With this ride, you get whats not at all what you thought you would get.
I'm from Montreal and used to ride it with my parents on our yearly summertime vacation trips to Hampton Beach....in the 80's...damn i miss those humps and bumps at night...sweet classic bunny hills woody ride ....real hip hop style...i was not even a teen and now i'm 32 FUCK
I'll admit this is a pretty fun ride and it was my second coaster ever, and my first wooden coaster, but it lacks excitement. It is just a few tiny hills... :(
oh this rides awesome! if u put your hands up after the first hill, it actually feels like your flying. the only thing was that it always has a long line, but it doesnt feel that long because there's a antique car ride and a stage near it.

The extreme drops aren't part of the fun. The fact that it's a really good, old ride is just amazing - it's fallen a couple of times, but damn. That Yankee Cannonball is made from all wood, basically. It's also bumpy as Hell. You have to be a true NH'er to love it and appreciate it<3.

i love this ride! the first hill is probably the scariest and the 3rd to last turn is pretty bad too cause it feels like you are going to fall off and land in the middle of the parking lot.
Actually, though it says it lasts a minuet fifty two, the ride only lasts fifty two seconds, 30 is getting up the hill and getting going and another 30 to slow the coaster and bring it in and let everyone up. Me any my aunt counted how long the ride lasted while we were waiting in line :) oh and it started to pour as soon as we got on so everyone I was with was just like "o shit" lol it felt like hail pelting my face Dx
@DevSodDribble Six Flags = Season pass pays for itself after 2 visits, over 4 times the amount of rides, and, a lot of the rides at Canobie aren't even unique. They either have them all at Six Flags New England, or have a better, improved type.
@ValidCarrot Six Flags is a two hour drive from where I live, and that's if traffic is good. Canobie is more like 3 miles from my home. Last I looked gas isn't getting cheaper, so how does that 'pay for itself'?? Not to mention CLP is only like $19 or $20 after 5 PM. As far as the rides not being 'unique', none of these parks build their rides themselves. They buy them from other companies based on space and affordability.
@DevSodDribble: For you, Canobie may be better due to the distance but if you ignore that, (Which you should because you are looking at the potential of the park not the convenience of getting to it) Six Flags is better in potential. That is the way I see it. SFNE is over an hour and 15 mins. from my house and Canobie is a tad shorter but I still prefer SFNE. As for the "unique" rides, I meant between CLP and SFNE not with other manufacturers.
@ValidCarrot I don't get what you mean by 'in potential'; Canobie is a survivor in this area, long after Benson's Animal Park, Pirate's and Midway (Salisbury Beach), Whalom Park and all those others are gone. Its over 100 years old and they have no room left to add anything new (Without getting rid of something old.) Six Flags is like, who cares? Just another place that's too far away and costs too much. Some of us only go to places like this once a year if we're lucky.

We went on the neww ride and we were afraid tht we wouldnt make it bak in time 2 ride wit dem sooo when da ride ended we rann SOO fast to the line kuz daay were close 2 gooin on and so we went thru all da pplz!! but we didnt here the guy sayy come up ths way the one where ppl get off sooo we went the wayy with all the ppls and ppl were gettin piissed! evn da workerz!

this ride is fun, but since i was sitting all the way in the back, i'd slam my tailbone on the seat every time we went down a hill. ow! fun, though.

i love this ride! the first hill is probably the scariest and the 3rd to last turn is pretty bad too cause it feels like you are going to fall off and land in the middle of the parking lot.

probably about 2-3 minutes long (more or less) its about 75% worth waiting in line for - but that's just my opinion. anyway, have fun! :)

Actually, though it says it lasts a minuet fifty two, the ride only lasts fifty two seconds, 30 is getting up the hill and getting going and another 30 to slow the coaster and bring it in and let everyone up. Me any my aunt counted how long the ride lasted while we were waiting in line :) oh and it started to pour as soon as we got on so everyone I was with was just like "o shit" lol it felt like hail pelting my face Dx

@DevSodDribble Six Flags = Season pass pays for itself after 2 visits, over 4 times the amount of rides, and, a lot of the rides at Canobie aren't even unique. They either have them all at Six Flags New England, or have a better, improved type.

@ValidCarrot Six Flags is a two hour drive from where I live, and that's if traffic is good. Canobie is more like 3 miles from my home. Last I looked gas isn't getting cheaper, so how does that 'pay for itself'?? Not to mention CLP is only like $19 or $20 after 5 PM. As far as the rides not being 'unique', none of these parks build their rides themselves. They buy them from other companies based on space and affordability.

@DevSodDribble: For you, Canobie may be better due to the distance but if you ignore that, (Which you should because you are looking at the potential of the park not the convenience of getting to it) Six Flags is better in potential. That is the way I see it. SFNE is over an hour and 15 mins. from my house and Canobie is a tad shorter but I still prefer SFNE. As for the "unique" rides, I meant between CLP and SFNE not with other manufacturers.

@ValidCarrot I don't get what you mean by 'in potential'; Canobie is a survivor in this area, long after Benson's Animal Park, Pirate's and Midway (Salisbury Beach), Whalom Park and all those others are gone. Its over 100 years old and they have no room left to add anything new (Without getting rid of something old.) Six Flags is like, who cares? Just another place that's too far away and costs too much. Some of us only go to places like this once a year if we're lucky.
