I thought that Maka from Soul Eater sounded really good, but it turned out that a lot of the Japanese fans hated her performance. Don't get me wrong, I think that the Japanese one piece dub sounds awesome. I'm just tired of people constantly saying that the Japanese voices are always better. There's no way that all Japanese actors are just better at acting.
@pikaparty It's the permanent unique voices that are carefully chosen to be synched to the words of the original product. In America, it pays less to work for dubbing anime than just being a voice in an American show, but it requires more skill to synch the mouth flaps. This causes the skilled voice actors to be hired for original English-speaking shows, leaving the rest to dub... if that appeals to them. Also, the voices may sound generic just in case the actors need to be replaced.
Its so nice to hear english voices after having to listening to the god awful japanese voices for so long while watching the japanese subbed since I ran out of english dubbed to watch. Though the japanese voices do a good job when moments get intense like in this scene, there's no way in hell that makes up for having to listen to their shitiness for everything else. @Kairadragon why not? cause they're behind? i know they're being pretty slow with one piece, but they have tons of other animes to dub as well. it will take a bit, but they will get to it eventually unless the dubbing rights are taken away from them, which i doubt will happens cause from what i've seen, their doing a pretty good job. i'm not saying they're better than the japanese version, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just saying that they're doing a good job at dubbing.

@Kairadragon or at least take a break from the animes that are slowing down the dubbing process of one piece. the reason for the delay is probably cause the actors and directors and stuff are busy with other anime series. i went to their sneak peek thing at kumoricon and they had the new trigun movie, new seasons of five or ten animes, and around five or so new series. this wasn't even adding their popular series like bleach, hetalia, and one piece.

People remember this was dubbed before or around the same time funi just got the dub so their VA's has to start doing their characters from the skypea arc. When Funi gets to this part in the actual anime it will be just as good as the japanese version.

Basically Toei, the japanese anime licence holder of One Piece, won't let the english licence holder dub anymore episodes. There wouldn't be any more english episodes or games in North America for YEARS if we don't support what we've already got!
Play the game, give the current english series a chance and someday we'll get better One Piece stuff.
Well as much as I agree that this is a poor reflection of the engilsh dub I also want to point out this is from a *game*. In the anime the voice actor will have no choice but to match the longer shout and hopefully convey more emotion. Lets wait and see!

Guys, this isn't from the actual dubbed anime (Funimation has JUST passed the Skypiea arc), it's from a flashback in the English version of the One Piece Unlimited Cruise Wii game. @PockyThePanda if you hate the dub so much, why did you watch this video? i don't care if you prefer the subs, i myself prefer it just because i'm more used to it and it's further along, but it wasn't necessary for you to come on here an bash this video when you knew you weren't going to like it. and it's not just american's that dub. there are dubs in germany, singapore, greece, phillipines, italy, france, uk, indonesia, and malasia. and this is from a game, not the anime.

People remember this was dubbed before or around the same time funi just got the dub so their VA's has to start doing their characters from the skypea arc. When Funi gets to this part in the actual anime it will be just as good as the japanese version.

If you bothered to read the description, you would have seen this isn't from the anime. This is from the GAME One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. It included a rushed flash back of this very same scene.
The Japanese version of the game had it the same exact way.

"If you don't want to support the english dub of One Piece, then your getting your selfish wish."
Basically Toei, the japanese anime licence holder of One Piece, won't let the english licence holder dub anymore episodes. There wouldn't be any more english episodes or games in North America for YEARS if we don't support what we've already got!
Play the game, give the current english series a chance and someday we'll get better One Piece stuff.

Well as much as I agree that this is a poor reflection of the engilsh dub I also want to point out this is from a *game*. In the anime the voice actor will have no choice but to match the longer shout and hopefully convey more emotion. Lets wait and see!

Guys, this isn't from the actual dubbed anime (Funimation has JUST passed the Skypiea arc), it's from a flashback in the English version of the One Piece Unlimited Cruise Wii game. SO of course it doesn't sound all that spectacular, but I think that Funimation will put effort to make robin sound good for "I WANT TO LIVE!!!".

@xZWxMacman "One Piece: Unlimited Adventure" is a One Piece game for the Wii. I've heard that it's better than the other One Piece games that have come over in North America. Also, English Robin says that way too fast; it doesn't sound as believable.
