interesting vid. 1 pound per day for food is pushing it IMO. You couldnt eat any western food at all, it would be 2 or 3 basic meals from street vendors and nothing else at all. Beer money? lol

How much more is it to live near a skytrain? Can you find a place for under 6000 baht?

Yeh bangkok can be expensive too. I got bitlucky paying 4000 bhat 4 mine. I'm not in the centre though. Where are you at uni?

Was in Bangkok last weekend I went mainly to rca all im going to say is F**k me its cool. I've been living in phuket for the last 3 months and its more expensive my Apartment is costing me about 8000baht including the bills and that was the cheapest i could find. seriously considering doing a Exchange programme with my uni I would love to see more of the city.

@tommyd9388 8000 sounds a lot dude! BKK can be cheap if you look around but guess lifestyle of phuket is worth it!

All depends on what kind of lifestyle you want out here.can I also ask where abouts will you be working. Price is often dependent on proximity to skytrain and citycentre. If you let me know Some more details I might be able to help u find a place etc

@savingmoneyIN Hey im coming to bangkok on 1st september :) Going with my brother who has been there a couple of times but has always stayed in budget hotels whereas im looking at the more mid range accommodations .... any suggestions ? Not sure if i want to stay in and/or around khao san road though ... how much you reckon that would set me back, may stay there for a couple of weeks
