  • after his trilogy of albums starting with "who else"...i'm beginning to tire of jeffs over-all tone, this new record is dangerously close to elevator music. come on man, you're the best of the best...a little drier tone and more stripped down arrangements.... please ...?

  • Can't wait for the new album. Gonna be great, I feel it in my water. I'd like him to be a bit more blasé about his playing. Not go along with the adulation and sycophancy. There are 11 year old Korean kids that do this note for note. Laurels, smugness and resting are great but not amazing in any order. Tal plays really good bass, a Weber on strong coffee. A chance here to make the definitive covers album. Beach Boys and the Beatles. Carpenters. We'll see

  • "You have to learn to love what you do" an amazing throwaway line....

  • I really don’t mean any disrespect here, but I simply cannot fathom how anyone who plays guitar – or enjoys rock n’ roll, for that matter -- would dislike Mr. Beck. It is just beyond me.

  • Whoever disliked this is a gayfag

  • God. And he builds cars.

  • sunglasses are fkin awesome

  • phresh dude he is

  • Who the fuck felt compelled to put a sound track in there so we couldn't hear the damned interviewer's questions? Asshole!

  • @beeroosterm Totally agree ... (well, I don't know if I'd say asshole .. it ain't THAT bad) .....

and all this IS free ...

  • It makes sense that he and McLaughlin would be drawn to each other. I'm sure John loves Jeff's free-wheeling unpredictable creativity and Jeff loves John's thoroughness and discipline.

  • wish they wouldn't have added music in when he was talking, i stopped listening to jeff and was listening to the guitar. hahaha

  • lol he gets so critical of himself.

  • What song is he playing at :12 ?

  • @freaknbigpanda, it sounds like "people get ready"

  • I just saw him last night...incredible

  • What's he playing at the beginning?

  • at 2:48 thats the intro to Hammerhead- good catch, its marvelous.

  • Good God! What is the name of the Beck tune at 2:48?

  • That clown interviewer is not worthy! Hell! *Worships.* I'M not worthy!

  • hmm his action seems kinda high.. it must be because he uses his fingers

  • Love Jeff Beck to pieces , but this interviewer i quite annoying.

    Jeff : "Don't use tinkering, I don't tinker"

How did this interviewer clown get the gig talking to the Master??

    Anyone agree?

  • This one goes to eleven...it's one louder

  • Beck plays Barney Miller Theme?! No, but kinda sounded like it!! ha

  • @thesentinelonline Would bet I know infinitely about mental illness than you, even if you held a Ph.D. When you are a homeless person with noone in the world, suicide might be someones' solution. When you are put on the cover of magazines and have a plethora of fans who adore you and be in a position where an army's worth guitarists would love such a level of reknown and the only way you can find a solution to your problems is a gun, fuck that. Living takes courage from even the least of us.

  • i am a huge huge les paul fan .... but when i hear fender in jeff's hand.. my god i wanna buy as many fenders as i can

  • there was one deaf, blind, and dead kid that pressed dislike....most likely by accident

  • Jeck Beck needs a new manager badly. I could manage better, If your reading Jeff let me know, you should be a better act than what you are !

  • I would like the thank Jeff Beck for coming by Atlanta and making this one of the coolest summers in my 50 years.

Some say Jeff don't get the credit. What other intrumentalist has appeared on American Idol, a vocal competition? Everybody who needs to know Jeff, knows Jeff!

  • I would like the thank Jeff Beck for coming by Atlanta and making this one of the coolest summers in my 50 years.

  • Jeff was always afraid to encounter Danny Gatton - because the latter was a real musician!

    R.I.P, Danny!

  • @BerlinerStadtschloss I don't think Jeff is "afraid" of anyone. This guy was Hendrix closest friends. Danny was an amazing guitarist, but he was the true coward who put a gun in his mouth. Certainly no more a real musician than Jeff Beck. Thats just down right silly. Jeff Beck had the balls to walk right out of rock and roll and into a studio with John McLaughlin's crowd. Good Grief!

  • Beck was inspiration for Nigel Tufnel

  • Even though he is a legend he doesn't get nearly the proper amount of credit he deserves.

  • @TheHockeyCentral he doesn't does he? real shame, but it was the same with Gary Moore, etc

  • guy knows his shit... even though im not a fender fan

  • its Nigel Tufnel !! Just kidding, J Beck is great

  • this man makes me want to play a strat

  • OK - Whats the tune JB's playing from 012 to 022?

  • Jeff is the guitarist's guitarist, musician's musician, master'smaster,he's the hands of GOD.

  • Jeff Beck IS guitar! .. he's one of the hardest working and most passionate guys I look up to!.. Seen him play live and I know I won't ever hear a guitar sound like that again.

  • Like his playing or not, YOU can't do what he does ...and neither can I... or anyone of this planet. I'll go see him every chance I get.

  • @kyleafornia i knew a blind musician once and he was brilliant, played piano and guitar, had perfect pitch. he said best guitarist ever was hendrix. best guitarist alive today jeff beck

  • @lovemusiceveryday Don't know if I agree with best ever. Stevie Ray Vaugnh has to be around there!!!

  • I might have to re-listen to the most recent Jeff Beck album.... I took one listen and wasn't impressed - same problem with Rod Stewarts Soulbook album.... but I'll take a second listen to both

  • This is incredible. He's a fuckin genius.

  • What an inspiring record (yeah, I'm old enough to still call them records!)

  • 2.28. couldnt agree more, the other day i accidentally realized i can play pedal steel bending licks with the floating trem by leaning slightly on the bridge which pulls the notes back in tune. brilliant... stratocasters are literally the coolest thing ever!

  • That would be every part! pugontoast

  • possibly the greatest dynamic quarky guitar player ever

  • tes nugent better than beck? funny

  • Ted Nugent is better then beck

  • @helpdonate1 Yeah right!!

  • @dbrier72 why dont you argue why not instead of saying "Yeah right!!!"

  • @helpdonate1 Yeah right!!!

  • @helpdonate1 yeah and sand in your eyes is better than an orgasm....ted nugent...REALLY!

  • @schultz970 okay, why is jeff beck better then the Nuge.

  • @helpdonate1 . I think he's been more innovative for sure. His playing is so effortless...born to it seemingly. I think Ted is pretty amazing as well so don't hate me.

  • Comment removed

  • @helpdonate1 Sorry about the "yeah rights." In my opinion Jeff is the better player because he can play so many styles and play them incredibly well. I saw him live recently at Foxwoods casino and I have never been blown away like that. I love Sweaty Teddy as well don't get me wrong but Beck is by far the most rounded player out there. Nuge doesn't even come close. Do you play guitar?

  • @helpdonate1 no, not at ALL

  • a 54 strat a 32 3 window ford coupe dont mess with perfection

  • Jesus, who made this vid? Dreadful.

  • Wow. He's 66 years old? Wouldn't think so.

  • Nice "Hendrix-like" Intro....... Jimi would be smiling down on that little diddy, Jeff.

  • I love Jeff

  • The master.

  • Great interview! He sounded a bit depressed from time to time... especially when he said " for the past decade there's been a lot of down time". Man... this guy should be booked 365 days a yr!! I saw him LIVE in the 70's.... freakin A !!! Cheers. ~Kennedi KIng

  • He da man on de Guitah !

  • Tru dat!

No new guitarist sounds like Jeff!

  • @bernhardtsen74 No guitarist sounds like him!

  • @pob1989 you're right, nobody sounds like him cause he sounds like every other dipshit virtuoso trying to be perfect and diva....he tried to be john mclaughlin after beck ola and then he became mr "play it perfectly" diva, i hate perfection....fuck that, gimme mc5, stones, hendrix, clash, gimme rock....fuck this "dream theater" shit, fuck em

  • @theachtungtree

He never tried to be mclaughlin they are the opposite in many ways. Beck is rarely perfect he is an improviser in his heart and soul just like Mclaughlin but that´s the only thing they have in common. Jeff makes more mistakes though. ;)

  • @SevenCircles umm...pretty fair reply

  • @SevenCircles

mistakes? that's funny since he's creating new sounds that maybe you don't understand?

  • I practice the same way he described. Sometimes I have some structure but mostly I just play whatever patterns come to mind

  • LOve Jeff BEck !!

  • awesome interview.....Emotion and Commotion one of Jeff's finest works to date. long live the Guv'! love you Jeff!

  • Tinkering.Just A Touch Past That.LOL! Jeff Is Legendary.(Multi - Talent)

  • He has blown everyone else off the stage! We all know he is the best there is, LOVE YOU JEFF!!

  • sweet

  • saw him last night in Dallas :)

  • I liked the part where Jeff Beck was awesome.

  • @pugontoast so you mean the whole interview :)

  • @pugontoast same here :]

  • @pugontoast The whole thing?

  • @pugontoast

    that's all the time

  • @pugontoast

    hahahah.He is ALWAYS awesome dude.lol!

  • @pugontoast Like the whole video?!

  • Jeff Beck has been my guitar god for 30 + years!!!! Just a league of his own!!!!

  • @redhead5150 You're a Johnny come lately! AHAHAHAHAH I've been hooked since 1967. He is the last word in guitar. No one on the planet is a Jeff Beck. All the countless guitar heroes just shine his boots.

  • @Throweasy03 At 5 years old my parents wouldn't bring me to the record store and I lost my licence somewhere!!!!

  • @Throweasy03 thats why jimmy page replaced him

  • Great new album Jeff,

  • We often wonder what Hendrix might be doing today. Jeff Beck is our clue here-- just in terms of being a free spirit, working in different contexts & always expanding. Steve Vai is very expansive for sure, but Jeff Beck is brutally organic. He always has that dirt under his finger nails.

    Stratoblogster Approved!!!

  • @bizthin "brutally organic" I don't think it could've been put better!

  • @bizthin I often wonder if Hendrix were still around today what would a Jeff Beck/Jimi Hendrix album have sounded like? Better still what would a Rod Stewart/Jimi Hendrix album have sounded like, or a Jimi Hendrix/Rolling Stones album have sounded like - so many what if's?

  • The new album is outstanding--very lyrical with enough flash to still satisfy his old fans. It amazes how the 'Guv' can bring a very real voice to the Strat--using the tremolo, volume control and his fingers at the same time--no one else does it.

He keeps progressing and leaving mere mortals behind...

The greatest electric guitarist in the history of guitar--none finer or even close.

  • from 0:0 to 0:22 is the best :)

  • nigel tufnel is the best :)

  • Mount rushmore of guitar= SRV-Hendrix-Jeff Beck & Vernon Reid...IMO

  • @MrYourKilled Vernon Reid??? Are you crazy???

  • Isn't it he who have come up with a signature pickup by Seymour Duncan named JB?

maybe kinda stupid question but although he's playing a strat without his humbucker in the bridge position, that got me slightly unsecure and wondering.

  • @AntonJamtander He uses this Strat but he also uses Les Pauls. That's why Seymor Duncan made a pickup. He used them a lot in the 60's and early 70's.

  • @9nine1one thanks man!

  • @AntonJamtander

Yes,the Seymour Duncan JB pickup stands for Jeff Beck.Designed by Jeff, built by SD.

    As you were.

  • That's the kind of videos that Fender's channel deserves. Jeff is THE master.

  • @777josu absolutely agree :)

  • You gotta have respect for the Beck. REBECK!!

  • The Great Mr. Beck!

  • genius

  • The genius that is Jeff Beck.....66 years young this year and still going strong..constantly pushing the outside of what the instrument can do, and an eternal inspiration!!!
