  • So cute, Mark!

  • i want the lyrics .. xD

  • EPIC!

  • Great Direction I must say!

  • Addendum.

Oh. Looks like she put in the 2nd $20 as well.

  • Part 5: Examination of brilliant subtleties

So, we have these persecuted peoples represented, while the white westerner hands his daughter funds in front of the financial planner's office. She gives half away. And, unseen, Dr. Chan is battling, as his website states, "infectious causes of chronic illness." Of course, it's the earth that is chronically ill. And this little girl wants to do her part to battle the infectious causes.

    Brilliant, Mark! Just brilliant!

  • Part 4: Examination of brilliant subtleties

Now is this supposed to be a wordplay? Is Mark chatting up some ham? Not kosher. Or is it even more subtle? Chat is French for cat. More international stuff. So we are to think of a cat. And a ham. Who wrote about cats and hams (in different books)? Dr. Seuss! Who (according to wikipedia, so it must be true), experienced anti-Semitism (even though he wasn't Jewish). And he supported Japanese interment during WW II.

  • Part 3: Examination of brilliant subtelties.

.... when she drops exactly half of her cash into Mark's pot. This is how she manages her wealth: by giving half away. Very strong (but subtle) statement.

Now that corner seems to be a mini Asian community. We have Dr. Chan, financial advisor Amanda Y. Li at Edward Jones, and the Japanese Restaurant. Right in the middle of the scene is a displaced Jew in a Santa hat. And remember: This is at the intersection of Chatham & 2nd.

  • Part 2: Examination of briliant subtleties.

The mall has a Japanese restaurant, a naturopathic clinic and two financial planners: Dundee Wealth Management and Edward Jones. In fact, it's almost right in front of Dundee that the man hands his daughter 40 bucks and says "Please look for something fun." She won't find anything fun here, unless she finds sushi and acupuncture amusing. Meanwhile her father is about to cross the street into a residential district ... (more)

  • This video is has some brilliant subtleties. (Wow! That word is really spelled that way!)

"So I drag her to the mall.

I say 'Please look for something fun.'"

Now, Mark has been strategically placed in front of the window that reads, "Dr. Eric Chan, Bsc, ND." This leads the astute observer to a Google search which places the scene at the corner of Chatham & 2nd in Richmond BC. A perusal using Google's Street View makes me wonder: What kind of mall is this to take a kid for "something fun"?

  • Wow guys! Great job! So when's the Christmas album :P

  • Fast becoming a favourite X-mass Carol!

  • Hilarious Mark! Awesome satire at work there. Nice harmonies too. Well done...

  • I can't believe you managed to rhyme ovo-lacto-vegetarian! Very sweet. Merry HannuKwanzMas.

  • Good to see a good Jewish lad embracing Christmas tunes to save the planet!

    Very cute!

  • Thanks for keeping Emme entertained for a day! Always good to know we she's being babysat and kept out of trouble.

But gosh darn it, did you have to let her walk past the camera. She know thinks she's a rock star, making her more demanding than usual.

  • Love it!

Especially love knowing that Mark's wandering glance as street corner Santa is following my ass. Yes, that was my shoulder that passed the screen. Such a dirty boy! And I of course love him the more for it!
