  • love

  • nah this is what dubstep use to sound like, steppy beat in it, wer the half beat snare evolved from

  • nice

  • samples are from Michael McDonald - Baby I'm For Real

    /watch?v=DgJ0wPo6sWU

  • when it came out it had an old vibe. now it sounds ahead of its time.

    evolution :)

  • @illhorse so true!

  • some garage influences? nice track thought

  • @Danjldub I agree, I was also told today that this was "Dark Garage" ethier way, what ever it is it's nice ^^

  • futuregarage?

  • i just get very much reminded of burial, a very very good thing to be reminded of i might add

  • beautiful track. don't give a shit what is a genre. does it matter? for me it's something between garage uk (two step) and house, but it's just labels. electronic music for sure ;]

  • Dubstep is the lovechild of Dub and Deep House!

  • I'm confused, this sounds like what i've come to know is called "dub" not dubstep. how is one supposed to know the difference? And I know all about the roots of dubstep, i prefer dubstep to brostep... so ya, isn't this dub?

  • @MrFlyingChickens dub is a subgenre of reggae and is basically instrumental versions of reggae tracks with HUUUUGE amounts of bass. This has a 2 step garage beat to it which dub doesn't. I think that's the defining difference, a dub track would generally have a typical reggae 2,4 offbeat drum pattern.

It doesn't really matter a huge amount though really, it's only people on youtube that will have a huge go at you for "incorrectly" labelling music.

  • The vocal sample is from The Originals - Baby I'm For Real.

  • this is more house than dubstep but still good.

  • 8 miss clicks

  • why the hell does everyone constantly attempt to pigeonhole every artist or track.....its all bullshit.....YAWWWNNN music is music, tunes are tunes but sound is evolving

  • @tjjwoodrick Agreed. Instead giving props or illuminating insight, it becomes back'n'forth battle of sophmoric name-calling.

  • Ahh! 16bit Milky Pie Mix! Never knew what song this was

  • This and Burial. That how real dub step sounded like

  • @SwordXEvil I think you mean "sounds"

    real dubstep is not dead

  • @SwordXEvil

    agreed

  • EYEEEEE LOVEEE THE MINECRAFTTTTTT.....

    THIS IS HOW I FEELLLLLLLLLL

  • Nice track

  • that first drop hits you like an anvil, excellent stuff

  • @0ct0parr0t

    this is how I feeeeeeeel

  • Classy stuff-- education to all the wobbly bass dubsteppers outthere-- this track has.....INTELLECT

  • @YUSHCTK yes,

  • this is definitely a classic. i heard this on a new dubstep mix recently.

  • Minecraft rules, as does this track. Nice one Kev!

  • Nicely blends DnB, dubstep and garage. Deep and intelligent, how electronic music should be.

  • @nerro23 nicely put. i feel the same way, why electronic is my favorite.

  • jump up is shit.

    this is future garage.

  • Is anyone else hearing "I loooove minecraaaft"?

    I need to stop playing that game . . . .

  • @Freddi51 i just started, is it really bad ? (not the game - the habit of playing)

  • @Freddi51 Lmao... I heard it... IIII LUUUURVVVV MINECRAFFFTTT, THIS IS HOW I FEEEEEELLLL

  • @Freddi51 hahahaha 'i loooove minecraaft...it's just hoooow i feeeeeel"

  • Superb track!!!

Is that voice sample Michael McDonald (The Doobie Brothers), anyone?

    Thanks in advance :-)

  • @TheSilverDubber sample is from Baby I'm for real - The Originals

  • @Version909 Nice one cocka! :-)

    Kiss!

  • who cares what genre, all I can say is.....this IS where it's at people!!!

  • I doubt anyone actually understands the musicological concept of genre here, so should shut up and resume calling it music.

  • Don't think this is dubstep, cause dubstep is supposed to be synonymous with shit.

  • @AsellusPrimus back in the day more or less all dubstep sounded like this, too bad the genre went out of the underground

  • this isnt dubstep anyway i think u will all find its actually new skool garage!!!

  • this is some shit they play on my favorite radio station . YUP !

  • Such a deep track

  • DEEP - yep i agree THIS is how quality dub-step should sound.

  • Pangaea is an outstanding producer. I've been consistently impressed by the work of Mr. McAuley.

  • Wicked Tune..Very deep .

  • reminds me of a new twist on some of Photek s work from 96 : tech step meets dubstep. liking this :-)

  • @TheSmack77 yes it does have a Photek edge to it, reminds me of alex reece too.

  • NUMBERNIN6 is the shittt!!! thts real dubstep!!

  • @xkrossupx mate he is shit not the shit sort out your grammar. also i think you meant to say this is real dubstep not 'that is real dubstep'

  • this is a nice tune :\

  • One of the true originals!

  • i dont consider this dubstep...more like house or trance

  • @ajhig what ? lol

  • @ajhig nowai dis is klearly jazz

  • @ajhig dubstep has evolved into so many different strains, drawing influences from electronic genres past and present, all falling under the umbrella 'dubstep'

  • @ajhig how and why? it doesn't even have a foor to the floor rhythm

  • big ups hessle audio

  • This has to be my favourite dubstep tune of all time

    Respect to Pangaea

  • @zerbamandnb me too, loving the vibes on this one ...

  • Sounds like garage to me .... :/

  • @HiDefinitionBluRay : The roots of Dubstep is Uk Garage...

  • @Chocolatmenthe i didnt ask for a history lesson i know my music, sausage! i was stateing my opinion!! it sounds like it has'nt evolved yet....

  • @HiDefinitionBluRay Don't let the garage/2-step rythms fool you. The deep subs and speed are what make it dubstep. I totally understand what you're saying though, for example for me Burial sounds more like a dark 2-step artist than a dubstep artist.

  • @dotspace77 burial isnt 2-step or 2-steppish at all

  • @seda12 and the sky isn't blue

  • @InputForum Thankyou, lol

  • @seda12 The drum patterns are very 2-steppish.

  • @HiDefinitionBluRay fail ...

  • @RareKinds Mug...

  • back to the roots of dubstep :)

  • Um, hello...this is my JAM! xoxo

  • sick tune, to all the heads that dont like jump up check out dabster's waterfix and daybreak tunes, big up pangaea

  • WHOA I like this :D not what I normally listen to, but kicking nonetheless :)

  • this tune is huuuuuurtin em

  • Like deep basses of this song :)

  • gorgeous use of the sample taken from a song from an old bollywood movie 'dum maro dum'

  • @justmightbeokay Its Actually from The Originals-Baby Im For Real

  • @ADZILLA987 Thanks but I'm not talking about the vocal! Search for

'Dum Maro Dum Mit Jaaye Gum'

I reckon this bolly classic is the inspiration behind the tune..

  • Sweet upload man!

    Didn't know this one :)

  • blaze

  • hard like a conka

  • I can't buy this where I live so can anyone direct me to where I can download some tunes from pangaea?

  • boomkat

  • @Context81 damnit i need a credit card bad

  • he's got such a knack at making his drums just jump out of the speakers

  • yeah i wish i could make beats sound like that.

  • really good

  • how come i never heard this before?????

happy i know it now :)

  • awesome

  • Comment removed

  • this is amazing

  • can anyone point me in the direction of some tunes/artists that sound like this( garage ) not a big dubstep fan but like this side of it. nice one

  • Try perverelist or Radic and ghosthack...those are more mental/darkstep tunes.

  • @fitzjay01 el-b is the place to start

  • Ramadanman, joy orbison, martyn, scuba, pangaea and many more! keep looking

  • Let me guess, is that because you'd never put it in your mouth?

Scuba is great, it's just not your style

  • Few Nolder

  • mala, rsd, 2562, early benga, cluekid - 09 lick and things like that :)

    hope this helps

  • yeeeaaahhh.... old styleee garridge mate - back with the slowed down jungle influences. Luv it.

  • on giles peterson show on November 11th

wrongly tracklisted as Pangaea You and I (Hessle) [Leeds]

Took me some time to figure out :)

  • Fine like wine

  • on Will Saul's Balance 015 mix.

  • nice track also

  • this brings me back to late 90's. when garage was called garage.

  • amazing

  • ..obvz this is a fairly new track..but im talkin bout the whole sub-low experience

  • Jump-up has ruined dubstep. People are forgettin that this is where it all started..

  • @venusasaboy1991 jump up ?

  • @JohnnyJohnJoe

Jump up DnB.. the scenes kinda bled into one another over time

  • @venusasaboy1991

How could other music have ruined this? :) I don't really know about the start of dubstep, i think it's still a bit immature. That party-like dubstep with DISH DISH WOBBLE WOBBLE DISH DISH BAM DISH DISH is lame indeed. Better stuff will blossom out of it :P

  • @DonnyRedNr1

I meant that this is where the sound started. But then Dubstep nights were constanty being joined with jump-up DnB Nights. This meant all the Jump-up fans started hooking on to it and and more dubstep to appease their tastes was produced (i.e. sloppily filthy and wobbly.) This is how real dubstep should sound.

  • @venusasaboy1991 lol, i thought jump-up was a dnb subgenre, still love this track though

  • @LuxATemporeNostro

Yeah it is.. both genres just kinda bled into eachother when they were constantly being twinned at nights, I reckon Jump-up DnB definitely had an influence on the way it sounds now

  • @venusasaboy1991

that´s tru mate!most of people just like listening hard tings and they forget the roots,.thank u to all artists who are keeping it for us.

  • @venusasaboy1991 True, not that I discredit BassNectar and their Freak Beat for the Beat Freak album, but that Jump-Up Trip-Hop stuff needs stop ruining the solid constants and harmonies and full sound that dubstep is known for. I find myself searching for deep solid full breakdowns but just find all builds and random rests without powerful 'knock me out of the seat in my mind' breakdowns.

  • @thasupremeoverlord Yes, yes entirely. Though I still put this down to dark garage, given it's largely late garage / dark 2step beat. That being said, those genres were from an era when "dubstep" didn't quite have it's feet on the floor, and producers were producing intelligeble stuff, not quite the Radio 1 Rusko style nowadays. Love it.

  • the bass guitar player is my music teacher at school

  • This is pretty decent, but I prefer Burial.

  • Amazing..

  • can here a bit of ltj in there

  • probably one of my favorite songs of all time. when the vocals come in I get goose bumps

  • i agree with shiftie...the wobbly stuff put me off DnB back in the day, it ruined the scene...all about this kinda stuff. more interesting imo

  • too many people are falling for the whole WAWAWAWWUBWUBWUBWUBWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA kinda dubstep, but this shit is where its at.

No offence to caspa nd rusko tho, theyre still sick.

  • @Shiftie09manz You get too many cunts on Fruity loops tryin to make it thats why ! =P

  • @Shiftie09manz old dubstep and new dubstep is good, i don't think anyone can hate on wobbles, wobbles to me, are a form of drug, they are highly addictive, and i mean that in all seriousness.

  • @Shiftie09manz

    I agree.

    Whole-heartedly.

    JoSx xxx

  • @Shiftie09manz i need dubstep like this one and dubstel like WAWABAUWBUAWUBAWU :)

  • @Shiftie09manz haha yeahh the skins generation of dubstep is complete cheese

  • lovely

  • This tune is fucking great, but would it have ever existed without Burial? I love all this moody 2step that's coming out but can't help feeling a few of them owe Burial a lot.

  • nah they just owe garage a lot

  • @BUMB4CLART for real

  • Mastered

  • the future!

  • the drop is insanely good

  • Pangea nailed it with this one

    5*

  • The distant vocal puts a big cherry on it...

  • chillllllllll

  • FUCKING CHOOOONNNNNN

  • Excellent

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

  • Tbh, maybe it's the D&B/Jungle fanatic in me, but I personally prefer dubstep tracks with a heavy emphasis on drums (like this one).

  • you love burial then mate. check him out.

ambient dubstep is my fav kind of dubstep :)

  • this is heavily 2-step/garage influenced dubstep btw

  • this is howdubstep actually sounded in the beginning
