  • i love this song:)

  • Southpark brought me here xD

  • @52298Beebop2 Probably not...but with those incredibly insane comments...you obviously are

  • KENNYS FAMILYS SOO POOR THEY HAD TOO PUT THIER BOX UP FOR A SECOND MORUGAGE!!!

  • Do you think Elvis is racist? I think so because well for first he's from the South. Most people in the KKK are from the south.

    Second he wrote this song.

  • @52298Beebop2 Dose it matter he is dead so just apreciate the music

  • @52298Beebop2 How is this song racist in any way? You're the one with a racist mind if you think only black people live in the ghetto.

  • @thoratkinson15 No I'm not racist. Most likely Elvis is talking about WW2. In Poland the Germans forced people to live in poverty.

The one that your talking about didn't form until after the Civil Right's Movement. Mostly in the 1970s. Now with Harlem New York.

  • @52298Beebop2 Yeah I've seen Schindler's List thanks. It's spelled "you're".

  • daddy you loved this song now you been taken away and all i have is memories and pictures fly high angel i miss you so bad daddy xxxx 21st december 2011 the day they took my angel away from me xxxx

  • Hi I have a stupid question ; why in this song Elvis says "she don't need" why not "she DOESN'T need" ? I'm not English or American and my English teachers always tell me that for She or he or it we must say does/doesn't and not do/don't, thanks

  • @DoucesIllusions its just a song

  • @dialga4321 and because it's a song we can't make errors ? lol, thanks for answering me :)

  • @DoucesIllusions No Problem :)

  • @DoucesIllusions Poetic license

  • @DoucesIllusions American slang my dear...it confused me too at first, but now I got used to that. However, I do say does/doesn't for he she it and do/don't for they. Better listen to your teacher if you want a good grade, but once you get out of school, it's up to you.

  • @Pakash8 Thanks !!!

  • Thanks

    abeldanger(dot)net

  • i love this song so much

  • Its sad... Someone can't make a beautiful life changing song like this, without getting killed or something >.< hows this fair? i miss the oooold music!! from 40's - 80's its amazing not-perverted and meaningful unlike this crap we have now :( I'm absolutely POSITIVE that i was born in the wrong generation...

  • Oh, I see, you want to be first, you want to be great, you want to be important, you want to be significant. Well, you ought to be. ^_^

  • I'm a NYC Police Officer and was raised in the ghetto....I remember the strife that we went though just to survive...reach out to someone you dont know and give a hand...it will help more than you will ever know

  • this song so so awesome not many people say that ae

  • Sooo Great.

He was the king of Rock & Roll :D

  • Comment removed

  • @USAForLife2057

...or maybe he actually hates it... that would make two of us.

  • brilliant song, but SOOO true

  • Sad :(

  • They killed Kenny.

  • @MrAwesome8617 Translation: I hate pop-culture because I think that makes me a rebel and cool.

  • @Tyreall101 Your an idiot you disgrace elvis by uaing racial and xenopobic slur

  • This song was written by Mac Davis. Look him up.

  • @kevp66 Duh, Elvis was a great singer but writing this? lol

  • the perfect christmas song <3

  • thumbs of if u heard this song on south park

  • @crazygunner99 Fuck you don't start on a elvis presley's song you fucking jewish nigger

  • @Tyreall101 ur racist nazist and stupid why would u say that!!!! would it be something wrong if i was colored and juwish im just a 12 year old boy and you are the meanest person ever i cant belive that you said that!!!!

by the way im buddhist so guess what ur wrong!!!

  • Is this talking about the ghettoes in WWII or the ghetto as we know today??

  • @TheTnTGames ghetto as in modern day the over crowded run down places

  • Then: Elvis, John Lennon, George Harrison, Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, Ted Ross, Bob Marley, Tupac, Biggie Smalls.

Now:Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne, Lady Gaga, Nickle Back.

I hate what my generation has done to music....

  • @MrAwesome8617 Nickelback is Ok :D but jb sucks

  • @MrAwesome8617 joe cocker, phil collins, bryan adams, bon jovi ...

most of your singers are already dead...

please lord, bring back Elvis ; we offer you justin bieber

  • great song, but I doubt right wing fat Elvis gave a sook for kids in the ghetto.

Burgers, pills and underage sex were more his thing.

John Lennon, Marvin Gaye, they wrote their own sons about issues.

If this song had been called 'In the supermarket', Elvis would have sung it. Songs were wrotten for him, and he sang them, end of story.

    Great voice though.

  • NEVER CALL ELVIS FAT...OR ELSE...

  • South park!!!

  • @BROKENCRICKETBOX so true but you have to understand..this is a mature era Elvis..an Elvis that wanted a political view in music..like John Lennon..Marvin Gaye..it was all about opening minds..to world about all civil liberties..of mankind.

  • This is by far my more favourite song sung by elvis, obviously the majority of people might remeber elvis for his more fast and rock n roll type songs, but there is something this song has that his others dont and i prefer this one to his others. just beautiful but yet so true

  • This is so very sad because its all so true

  • At school

    Friend:Big girls don't cry,don't cry....

    Me:In the ghettoo!

  • Harry's Law brought me here! :-) I didn't heard this song until then.

  • 43 people have a ghetto state of mind

  • anyone else think that elvis is a time traveler and he traveled back in time to invent this before eric cartman???? cuz im pretty sure this is a remix!

  • think i need to buy new speakers, they cant handle the base in elvis's voice!

  • the best ever ! one of the man who changed our world nd one song which says wthe truth nd goes directly to the heart . i love it !! <3<3<3.

  • Kenny.

  • 43 people were born in the ghetto

  • @BuzzCola09 thats not funny what did YOU say when you are born IN A GHETTO

  • It makes me sad that there are singers that I'll never have the opportunity to see perform live, like Elvis and Freddie Mercury.

  • @JenTheJedi90

freddy mercury is really a legend too nd its a domage that we never will see him live again .. or see him the first time ..

  • THE KING, THE END

  • im 16 and elvis is in my nr1 playlist bro (;

  • in the ghettooooooooo

  • this song is so good. greatings from serbia

  • i wish i could have been alive when this music was around.. best mucsic is from the 20s-60s forever itll never get like that again. no topping it.

  • I remember my granddad always played Elvis songs in the car. And one day he played this and i was amazed out of my mind

  • I never liked Elvis... untill I heard this.

  • South park

  • Ah yes the mature..political Elvis..I love his Deep..lyrical music..more now than I did as a kid..in 80's

  • @guyguy2010ify who tha FUCK do u think ur FUCKIN tlkin 2

  • Thumbs up if south park brought you here.

  • Whenever I hear this song, it totally reminds me of Kenny McCormick, lol <3

  • @KZCrazyyy Who?

  • @eleettu15987jb Kenny McCormick, he's from South Park. ;3

  • @KZCrazyyy haha I think i get it... is it because he always gets killed? :D xD

  • @eleettu15987jb That and his parents are poor and cant pay for their three kids properly, but yet the still have a lot of kids. Cartman also sings this about Kenny, so whenever I hear this im just like, "aww kenny." xD

  • This is a very very beautiful song. The lyrics are very poignant. The guitar part is out of this world. The singing ....smiles....Superb a robust golden smooth voice of the King. The first and most memorable song I had ever heard of Elvis and one of his very best too. Simply love it. Good lacrimate ...smiles....It is superb...We were very lucky he was always in the background and every so often he would come to the foreground with a masterpiece...What a great man.

  • We have to break the cycle. Give everyone a change at a decent live.

  • i live in the scartown ghetto and trust me there are shooting once in a while but i had a gun pointed at me when i was 13 yrs old and now im 14

  • here in the netherlands, you have the kids who think they have a hard life so they start stealing, but that's not it, it's about being boss over the "streets". in the ghetto it's serious and not like them kids here in the netherlands who rob little innocent kids who have a little cash in their pocket.

  • If you can't raise them don't make them.

  • @LittleRata1 too true

  • @LittleRata1 Yeah! Poor people deserve to be alone. It's the price they should pay for not being educated in personal economics.

  • I remember the first time I heard this song I was a 12 y/o kid living in an abusive household with my aunt, her abuser molesting husband, and 3 babies. I cried it touched me hard even at such a young age. Uncle made it feel like we lived in the ghetto. TRUTH IN THIS SONG : (

  • que bueno que se murio este pendejo XD

  • @schizoidman2011 y porque? asshole, fue uno de los más grandes que jamás haya existido!!!!tu eres un pendejo!

  • @jaws5263 tu jefa es una pendeja pinche lame huevos

  • i love him :-$

  • South park brought me here

  • Paul Shanklin brought me here

  • Elvis Presley tout en douceur.

  • This is why "Po" people shouldn't shit out keedz like its a good day in Mr. Rogers' neighbourhood.

  • Ghetto by definition is an area where a single race or culture only resides (Jewis, Muslim, White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, it doesn't matter). And this song doesn't specify the type of ghetto where this child is. Though i do agree that if a white man were to sing this now, without mentioning that is is an Elvis cover, it wouldn't be played and classified racist because people can't seem to fathom a world where there is nothing about race

  • @TheHazmatt13 HOW F---ING SAD BUT TRUE ARE THE WORDS YOU SPEAK!!! I DON'T SEE COLOR I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THE BAD CRAP ALL THOSE YEARS AGO BUT STILL FEEL THE PREJUDICE TOWARDS ME DAY AFTER DAY WHICH BOTHERS ME AND IT SUCKS!!!!!!! ENUFF I could go on crying but I'm done for now.

  • elvis would be 76 if was still alive.i mean hes been dead for 34 years

  • how deep is the concept of racism in us.. to me, this song could aplly to any ghetto in the world, where ppl suffer in poverty. meaning white, asian, whoever. remembering that ghetto is a word that apllies to jewish ppl, usually, in european countries, forced by antisemitic governments , to live in restricted areas of towns, what turned to be a easy way to massacre'em, at their will. poverty, racism, and politics, always lead to same, ppl getting fucked. remember another word, pogrom.

  • Not everything is about race people :/ there are white and black people starving all over the world in ghettos. Starvation doesn't discriminate.

  • And he learns how too steal and he learns how to fight T.T

  • An amazing, touching song. His voice is incredible and sends shivers down my spine.

  • @MrBluesrules shut thefuck up dude. no one gives a fukc if youve served. you, tehgamersgarage and catnip are all rassists. stop whining and listen to elvis.if tgg is right abuot something it is that elvis is elvis. listen to the music, dont argue.

im flagging you all as spam for yt to see

  • In the ghetto (in the ghetto!) lol south park

  • I just started listening Elvis Presley, saw this song, had a little chuckle, but when I heard it, and really listened to it, I was overwhelmed. Bravo.

  • Simply amazing!

  • i love elvis and i dont care how old i am he is just great. i dont get why people put silly little comments on here when u shudnt listen to im if you no u dont like him. grow up instead of actin your shoe size!!!

  • Thumbs up if you like Cartman's version better... :)

  • America Today! The big Ghetto! Where are the jobs Sun Tan Man?

  • thumbs up if Elvis brought you here not any show where this was

  • @dimebag88m My mom use to say this was my uncle thats what brought me here

  • @1DarkPunk well that's okay

  • Comment removed

  • @dan333onlyhalfevil so what

  • @dimebag88m i just think people begging for thumbs up is sad.

  • @dan333onlyhalfevil well I wanted to put that because I hate when people say that "Thumbs up if ... brought you here". Mine is better

  • @dimebag88m there's no 'better' when it comes to people begging for other peoples approval.

  • i love this song:)

  • Is it important if the song is about black people or white people or indian people or maybe blue/green/red People-we are ALL Humans-or not? I think important is what he tells-a true story that happens really every day, if in the Ghetto from Chicago or Rio etc. - that´s not important. Great song, and of course very sad too! Sorry for my bad English-my Motherlanguage is German, I am from Austria so please forgive me ;).

  • This song is so sad. Because its true.

  • @MRiFXXK i agree

  • Back then White people did live in "Ghettos" of Chicago, Irish people etc, its actually only since the 1980s there was a mass exodus of "white" people.

Its like New York, there were street thugs from Italian and Irish backgrounds etc.

This song isnt about race, but poor people with nothing, this story can be changed to people all over the world too.

Here in England theres still poor areas with all races in them. Including alot of white people

  • @Defender934 Fuck off dude! Elvis is from the south, Everyone from the south knows what Elvis was talking about. You are right about the Irish, But southerners like Elvis could not give two shits about Irish Catholics... Like it or leave it, this song is about blacks...

  • @catnip213 What the fuck? This song was written when both black and white people still lived in the ghettos.

    Racist motherfucker.

  • @TehGamersGarage Arent many white people lives in ghetto to? Or the american " Trailer parks" Dream Country if you are ritch if you are poor you always gonna to be poor, Live with it.

I feel sorry for your poor americans, i Really do.

  • @petvaldstevens Whaaaaat? No, most white people don't live in the ghettos. Now, it is black people FAR into the majority. Trailer parks, while crappy, really aren't considered "ghetto", as they aren't urban enough.

And something about poor Americans never become rich? Tell that to most of the owners of large corporations who grew up in a poor environment. For an example off the top of my mind: Glenn Beck.

  • @TehGamersGarage

Glenn teabagger Beck, "Brought to you by GOLDLINE".

  • @MrBluesrules Wasn't funny last year, isn't funny now.

And don't put your political opinion on The King's music. You're a disgrace for doing so.

  • @TehGamersGarage

I ain't laughin' And it ain't my opinion, just look around you. and I'll say whatever I want. wherever I want. You are a disgrace for advocating the suppression of free speech!

  • @MrBluesrules Suppression of free speech? No, I'm simply saying that, while you CAN put your political opinion anywhere and everywhere, there are consequences for doing so.

The consequence here is that you make yourself look like a COMPLETE AND UTTER JACKASS to everyone because you decide that slandering the King's music with your liberal politics is a good idea. Fuck off now, will you?

  • @TehGamersGarage

I said nothing of your so called Kings music. He speaks to an issue of great import, and when its addressed you get hysterical. I will not fuck off. I will continue to speak of this issue. Everywhere I can! AND By the way TehGamer man, In America, Our America. one in four children live in poverty, and go to bed hungry every night. 50 million of our brthers and sisters have No Health Care. And That is the Truth my brother. WAKE UP Elvis fan! Do something! OCCUPY!

  • @MrBluesrules I know the statistics. I never downplayed the amount of people that live in people. I argue that you're gonna come on here and try to start a political argument. Yeah, kinda forgot what your original comment was, didn't you?

It's people like you, people who going around desperate to start shit, that is ruining this country. You SAY you fought for this country and even if you did, it's pointless if you're just trying to make more people get angry at each other, instead of agreeing.

  • @TehGamersGarage

My original comment was the question, "Where are the the jobs Sun Tan Man? "People should be angry. People should be angry that there are conditions here in this country that are perpetuated by Greed, and Ignorance. Get mad. You should be mad. Be aware. Don't blame me for the truth of "In the Ghetto". If you and every American served this country, we might not allow these conditions to exist. You're right, I am intent in arousing peoples sensibilities. It's important. OCCUPY!

  • @TehGamersGarage

Maybe you'd like to simply turn your head and look the other way!

  • @MrBluesrules Why should I when you could just act with acceptable behavior?

  • @TehGamersGarage

Define acceptable. Is it acceptable to just say, "What a pretty song", and not consider the truth of the matter. I can't do that. It would be unacceptable. Saw on the news how a homeless guy was killed by a hit and run driver while slepping in the park this last weekend in Denver. He got laid off and lost his house. He was a teacher in the Denver Public Schools. Guess we gotta cut spending to keep giving those big corporations their subsidies. That is Unacceptable. OCCUPY!

  • @MrBluesrules Wow, dude. Can you off-topic? The truth of the matter is that you're an over-reacting liberal racist, intent of undermining the King's music because you see only what you've taught yourself to see, which is probably something like "white people hate blacks", when, in this area right here, you're the only racist.

    That is all.

  • @TehGamersGarage

Who said anything about race? I never mentioned black or white. I don't care about black or white. Do you think I'm Black? or White? Does it matter? I'm 57 yrs old and have seen a lot. Why have you alluded to racism? It's poverty I hate. Anyway, if it pleases you, I'm neither Black or White. I'm Red, White, and Blue. And a Veteran. Did you know when the shit hits the fan and your ass is getting shot at nobody cares about Black and White. Black or White You are my brother.

  • why do they show my views?

  • this song is done for Jewish people

  • this song doesn't specifically mention a race does it? NO. so stop. this song isn't specifically tailored to one race =_= enjoy the song for once instead of arguing.

  • yes. danke.

  • justien biber<3

  • Damn long time whithout listening to Elvis, happy to hear this song.

  • This song--as well as most of Elvis' work--reminds me of a lot of Lou Reed's material, very real lyrics, minimal instrumentation, and a voice you always take seriously.

  • I heard the same song he sang it while he was in Vegas, and he had a crack in his voice!

  • Those were the days, well before the technology and real estate crash!

  • everytime elvis says 'in the ghetto' i hear cartman singing on the background 'in the ghettoooOO'

  • Vaya voz...igualito que el Prícipe Gitano!! XD

  • i thought this was funny When Eric Cartman Did It but actually quite sad

  • Comment removed

  • @TwoGamingLPs i thought the same thing

  • If a white man did a song like this these days he would be called racist...

  • @catnip213 i agree

  • @catnip213 Why would he be called racist? :L

  • @MrHammond1998 Because the atmosphere of this country and "political corectness" (which is a nice term for fascism) if a white man made a song about "the ghetto" and poor blacks he would be labeled a racist.

  • @catnip213 I know this might blow your mind, but there are white guys in ghettos.

  • @PressXtonotdie Well no shit.. I spent my entire childhood in the freakin ghetto

  • @catnip213 Good, then stop making stupid statements as though he went "Oh yeah those niggers in the ghetto suck"

  • @catnip213 it depends on what context hes saying it though. Not just if he talks about them, then everyones a fucking racist lol

  • @catnip213 Of course he wouldn't, he's showing sympathy for people in ghettos and letting people know what a horrible life they lead, he's trying to spread a message to try and help

  • @catnip213 Of course he wouldn't, he's showing sympathy for people in ghettos and letting people know what a horrible life they lead, he's trying to spread a message to try and help

  • @locomocococo cool story bro

  • @catnip213 this song is about white people you dumb fuck.

  • @littleXjack bullshit, back then white people didnt live in the ghetto of chicago

  • @catnip213 arse..... any excuse eh? youhavent got a brain cell...

  • Comment removed

  • @catnip213 I personnally don't see where he mentions a specific race, it could apply to anyone really.

  • great song

elvis is the king of rock n roll

but cant forget bout micheal jackson he is the king of pop

  • @braddy365 elvis isnt the king of rock and roll. he may be your king of rock and roll. but the king of rock and roll is chuck berry

  • This song is so sad :/
