Well, I don't really care about old/new Green Day. Sure I prefer the old albums, but seriously, they are nearly 40 years, and you can't expect that they'll still sing about drugs or falling in love. They have missed some of their sound, but they are still very good and skilled compared to many others. I can't wait until a new album comes anyway :D

@YoinkStudios New Green Day isn't HORRIBLE, just people who have been fans of Green Day don't like it. Newer Green Day is too Poppy, and it doesn't really have that feeling of being young and a punk anymore.

I can't call myself a TRUE Green Day fan, seeing as I came in during the American Idiot era. But, unlike most people, I went backwards and listened to older Green Day. It has a punk tone that the new GD just can't capture anymore.

Correction, though. It's not from the album 39/Smooth. It's actually from the EP 1,000 Hours that was re-released onto the compilation 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.

Billie Joe Armstrong became an obnoxious faggot live while Mike and Tre are just tools doing what he said. They don't even have a punk rock sound anymore (it's more like a POWER POP sound!) there are very few guitar solos (even less that are interesting like the one here), NO drum solos, and shallow, often political lyrics. No more anti-conformity, in fact the new album was twice the opposite.

I used to have this in my walkman while I would skate. That wasn't long after this album came out. I loved kerplunk too, and dookie was pretty good but it started to go downhill after that. They got too commercial, raped their image, and started putting on makeup. Sucks.
