It really doesn't matter if the ring was in or not (and from the video, it wasn't). This ref showed a total lack of respect for the game, the players and the other interested people.

He basically lacked moral fiber there (previous context may help explain an elevated level of frustration on his part, but irrespective of that, what he did was idiotic).

Plus, why would there be pressure on a ref if they are doing the best they can? To err is human; to act that way is ignorant.

I think that you posting a negative video like this about ringette portrays a negative image for the sport. You have to think that refs are under so much pressure, and it won't change anything for you and your team posting this online and have 3,000 + views.

And lets be honest, I've played for AAA Eastern back in 04 or something, and we always kill everybody anyway ; ) What one goal less or more !

It looks like it was on the line, and as a few other people posted, in order for it to be a goal, it has to be completely over the line. He blew the play down before he pushed the ring into the net, which leads me to believe he probably went to pick it up, but the ring slipped.

It looks like it was a bad call, but take it easy, folks. The AAA Ringette Challenge Cup? The referee would be under more pressure to perform well, than the players.

As a ref, the ring has to COMPLETELY cross the goal line, if 99 percent of that ring is across its still not a goal. Sorry, but thats the rule.

Yes it does if it was on the line it shouldn't count.

What upseted me was I was politely saying "Ref it is still on the line it is not a goal..." and he replied "Oh, It is now" And pushed it in...

I found that was rude and reported it... :P

My daughters are new to this sport, I am no expert at the rules.But,I was under the assumption the ring had to completely cross the line to count as a goal...
