I totally respect the Right to Freedom of Expression....But somehow I prefer the classical version of our national anthem that gives plenty of time and space to connect soulfully with the lyricss and the music...again,thats just my opinion as an individual

It's an irony, you can say.But, the constitution in it's Fundamental Rights section and responsibilities accrued to each Indian citizens and occupants (exercised to migrants as well) clearly states to respect and thereby not to distort, or sing disrespectfully. I totally respect the Right to Freedom of Expression....But somehow I prefer the classical version of our national anthem that gives plenty of time and space to connect soulfully with the lyricss and the music...again,thats just my opinion as an individual
That being said, the performers in the vid are some of the few talented faces of our country... it's their version , their view.. you can't question their patriotism coz of this, m sure they love and respect our country equally

I have heard this song with and without video. Grammatically this song has no fault. Even if you discard the video effects, the singers are also in a proper singing mood and has not much body jerking. Thinking neutrally, I liked this version.

And, it's not my personal choice or not! It's an issue which is pertinent, and important, as it violates to certain extent an Indian constitutional directive first, and secondly does not give us any form of pleasure either. However, the user groups may vary, but distorting an already existing divine song is certainly a not very rational thing to do

Yes, there is no such thing in existence!!! It's an irony, you can say.But, the constitution in it's Fundamental Rights section and responsibilities accrued to each Indian citizens and occupants (exercised to migrants as well) clearly states to respect and thereby not to distort, or sing disrespectfully. Now, it's upto us how to interpret and channelize our behavior to act as sensible Indians respecting our own constitution and understand what is respect and what constitutes disrespect!

I can bear any song from Indian culture get fused in the way younger generation wants, but certainly not our very pristine 'Jana Gana Man'. We identify with it a lot, and feel very much inspired. Do you know that any form of distortion or modification the way it is to be sung is disrespect to our National Anthem as per the constitution. !!! This video simply shows how this generation connects with our traditions. They have a different view to it. Would you rather them sing some pop rock or bollywood songs? Then you would still say thats a shame and they are disconnected. They just found a different way to translate something important. I respect that. Love it . They took something and put it in the language of a younger generation.

I think this is a sign of India changing. This version is hair raising to me. Also, I think a nation is up and rising when it evolves everything it owns. and that includes how you sing your national anthem, your identity. Think about it, you are born an Indian. How could one ever even become capable of insulting something which preowns his/her identity? A rock has its own raw energy and attitude.
