@janno6 Hi, yes the USB signalink can be used with the same cable for the FT857 and even the FT817/ND.
To control the radio for frequency etc, you will need a CAT cable.
The USB signalink is only for audio and Push To Talk control of the radio.
I use the Yaesu CT-62 cable for radio control, which is really just a converter from RS232 voltage levels (+/- 12V) to TTL (0 to 5V) levels which the FT897/FT857/FT817 needs on its CAT port.
I was trying to find anything about the signalink and a magnum 257 radio and stumbled across this video, I do love the Aussie accent but please explain to us aboout the glove - why ?!
The signalink used in this video is the Tigertronics "Signalink USB".
It comes as a basic box and then you can add a custom cable for your particular transceiver, or order a cable with open wire ends to wire your own connector.
Inside the box is a jumper block which you wire with either jumper wires or a DIP header. Tigertronics also sells DIP header blocks which essentially prewire the block for particular transceivers. - 73s - Rob
It is also suitable for Yaesu 857D.
But shows it frequency from DATA interface or needed CAT cable to ?

I'm not gonna lie, the video wasn't bad, but the gloves freak me out a bit.
