Ain't it funny how so many people say " :O That's Mary tyler Moore before coming an actress!" while in the description it says it's her in the 1950s? xD
@LuigiDude1808 That is Mary Tyler Moore. She was born is 1936, so she would be around 18-19 years old in this commercial. Why would the fact that it's the 50's mean it's not her?
This commercial is from 1955 not 1954The commercials Mary Tyler Moore shot as Happy Hotpoint in 1955. According to her autobiography she shot the very first one of these the day after her Highschool Graduation in 1955 and she was the only actress to play Happy. Aagain according to Mary's Autobiography, when she got pregnant with her son and could no longer fit into the outfit Hotpoint retired Happy from their advertising.
even though we can not see her face, the dancer moves in the same style that Mary Tyler Moore is famous for, and yes that is her for sure. She was talking about her commercials once on TV. Wow she's had a great life and success, and able to control her diabetes. I wish her well..
General Electric's "Hotpoint" division co-sporsored "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE & HARREIET" {they usually identified it as "The Ozzie & Harriet Show" in their sponsor I.D.s} from 1952 through '56 [Lambert Pharamacal's "Listerine" was the "alternate sponsor"]. And that WAS young Mary Tyler Moore as "Happy Hotpoint"; sometimes, she and Harriet would interact in some of the "integrated" Hotpoint ads on the show. She finally gave that up around '55 when she beacme pregnant with her first child...

I've seen another of these Hotpoint openings where there's a closeup of Mary Tyler Moore saying, "Hi! I'm Happy Hotpoint!"

Even in '54, she could turn the world on with her smile! (Happy Hiotpoint, not Harriet Nelson)
