  • I'm sure Sara is really good in bed, hopefully someday I'll find out :P

  • I love artists that literally put their personal life into their work. Tegan and Sara rock! <3

  • I sorta hope that this song is about her not being good in bed because that would make her so human and this song very very personal.

  • @KMFilms13 she said in an interview that it was about becoming less physical as time went on...so i guess you could be right?

  • @Kate1157 Do you know what interview that is? Could you post me the link maybe?

  • @KMFilms13 eek, i have no idea, sorry! it was years ago that i read it :/

  • @Kate1157 damn, that's okay i got google haha thanks for posting this vid though! good stuff :)

  • @KMFilms13 if you do get the interview willl you post the link

  • @Kate1157 Do you know what interview that is? Could you post me the link maybe?

  • i like the framework part...the way tegan yells it lol "fraamewoorrkk!"

  • @laliqko I like that part too but It's actually sara saying that part :)

You can tell by the voice

  • @Skarrulz1 haha i realized that! when i wrote my comment i just assumed tegan sings the background in sara's songs and vice versa, but that's not true hahah!

  • sara said she wrote this song about being bad at relationships so yeah. . .

  • <333333 WHY AARE ALL THE SONGS I LIKE THE ONES THAT HAVE THE LEEAST VIEWS LOL

  • "I'm not proud that nothing will seem easy about me but I promise I won't go my whole life telling you I don't need" I loooove this song

  • 1:37 when she said thunder I thought she said dum-dum for a second XD

  • uhm I could hear this song again and again...I like the lyrics so much!

  • hellothere425...that's funny. Hee.Hee. Cute. But maybe she can't. One never does know.

  • my favorite sara demo from the album

  • aww this song always makes me think of my love... =] lover her

  • for the longest time i thought she was saying "i cannot tango" instead of "i can't untangle"

  • lol, like she thought she'd just slip in that anecdote :)

  • haha, me too! xD

  • @hellothere425 hahahaha!! That was so funny, it made my day :P

  • i thought tegan wrote call it off

  • yeah I'm sure she did

  • she did !!!

  • sara was still with emy when they made this album. and call it off is tegan's song.

  • @p0ppyman i thought they broke up during making this album. knife going in (it has emys name in it), i was married and back in your head was written for emy no?

  • does anyone know the meaning behind these lyrics? i've always been curious... SURELY she isn't saying she's not good in bed!! "in the dark, i'm just no good at giving relief." no no no!

  • Ha ha! no I think she wrote it about breaking up with Emy... But I may be wrong.

  • Me too. I mean... in addition to "Back in Your Head" I think (somewhat) these to songs go hand in hand especialy when she's sings, "My body moves, like curtains waving in and out of wind" I think that statement goes with "I just want back in your head" because like, they're both changing and straying from each other and Sara just wants back in Emy's head...

Ah Dx I don't know if I expained that right xD

  • thanks for your comment, i never connected those two before like that :-)

  • @Kate1157 I really love this version, do you have the mp3? I'd really love to have it if you do. pretty please? :]

  • why did they break up?

  • umm just reading the comments and listening to the demo it makes me think that maybe it just has to do with lying down for bedtime and it being awkward for some reason.

  • omg i love it when she says telling you i don't need

    it's like :O

well anyways these demos are amazing i wish i could've gotten a copy :/

  • I like this one better.

  • i like the differentiation between this version's chorus and the cd's chorus. i like this one's better.

  • i agree. i love these demos. they're very real. like, you can just imagine sara in her closet recording this :]

it's honestly so good. i can't wait for the day these demos become rare and even more special like "under feet like ours."

    xx

  • wow i never even thought about it like that :-)

  • I love that we get to hear this pure artistic expression. I can feel the music so much more with these. There's nothing better than hearing a song that's just Tegan or just Sara.

I have this weird feeling like a block in my chest. Their music is so fucking beautiful to my ears. Just..wow.

  • I agree!

    Thanks for your comment!

  • I also liked the stringed insturment in the background... Sounds like a cello. I like it.

  • For sure you can tell the difference between the demo and the album. But still, it's how raw the demos are that make them just grab at you. They're amazing.

And I love how Sara, went from low to high in her "but I promise this I won't go my whole life telling you I don't need". I really thought that was great, and I kinda wish they kept it that way.

  • me too, when i first heard that line it totaly stuck in my head. i love it - i think they should've kept it that way too!

  • could you post all of the demos?

  • YES PLEASE post them all!!! Some of us fans are DYING to listen! Thanks xoxox

  • Yep, that's what I plan to do :-)

  • i kinda like the "the con" version, but it's just because i like the song with the drums

  • sorta glad they changed the structure of the verses on the final - dunno if it was intentional but the verses are doing an onbeat/offbeat thing and/or crazy time signature business (15/8?).

also on the studio record the synth progression goes low to high, low to high - as opposed to how it alternates low-high, high-low on the demo. i think it really makes a difference to the ear, especially when it repeats so often!

not a criticism, it's a demo after all - if anything props to finessing it!

  • wow you seem to know what you're talking about! I have no idea lol! Thanks for posting that comment though :)

  • naaaah, just listen side by side, one definitely grooves more :D

  • you're right, my have these demos progressed. I notice the on/off beat too, but I love how Chris worked off the demos. Because they definitely sound the same, just with a few minor tweaks and perfection. I can see how he had a hard time trying to fix what was already good from the start.

  • Nice comment :-) thanks!!

  • thats amazing she recorded all this on her own. its not far off at all from the 'the con' version. beautiful talent. thanks for posting. :D
