For anyone having the pivot point problem where it's at the center of the selection instead of the cursor, do the following:

Where you see the "Edit Mode" menu, go two buttons to the right, and click that button. It will give you options to where you want your pivot. Select "3D Cursor." Then the button will change into the same image you see in this video.

Im not sure why this would happen, do you mean when you select the lower half before bending that the cursor moves to the center of what you have selected?

Try google "blender cursor moves to selection", that might give you some more info.

i have a problem when at 3:09 you do the sub-selection. The focus in your video stays as it was before, but in my progam, it will move to the center of the sub selection. how can i fix that?
