I literally cannot watch this scene without bawling, no matter how many times I watch it. As good as Matt Smith is, the 10th Doctor was definitely a character that cannot be matched. I think that David Tennant's time as the Doctor is a part of this show that can never be beaten. Bravo, David Tennant!
I'm so sad that David Tennant is gone now. I watched all the episodes with him in it and all the ones with Matt Smith in. The 11th Doctor is ok but he just can't match the 10th Doctor's awesomeness. If David Tennant ever comes back to Doctor Who, then maybe they can make a series or a movie with him playing Doctor 10.5 with Rose.
this was the first episode of doctor who i ever saw and it completely got my into it i even got my friends into it! but i was sad seeing david go and i only knew him for one episode and when he regenerated i was like "what the hell!!! why is there a different guy!!!!!"
Guys I like matt smith but i hate the clothes he wears... i personally think hes a great doctor but he wears gay clothes he shouda worn a tie instead of a bow tie
I start blubbering whenever I see this scene. I love the 10th Doctor so much, and the look on his face when he says "I don't want to go" breaks my heart. I don't like Matt Smith as the Doctor (granted, he hasn't gotten to do much yet, so he may improve) so for me, this feels like his literal "death." Plus the fact that he had to regenerate all alone this time, with no one to wake up to... Poor Doctor. :(
even tho a timelord should have only 13 lives he'll have more than than that, doctor who will never end but new faces will come and go as people play the role of the doctor.the never ending story.
I remember being so sad when The End of Time aired and a few weeks after it. Then I got anxious and excited to see Matt Smith. I think Matt is wonderful. I'm glad to see River Song back. I'm curious to know who she is.
@daleksvscybermen Actually I heard somewhere that Steve Moffat wrote Matt Smith's scene. I noticed instantly the change in the as soon as he appeared.
So glad that DT is gone now! He was good until the specials, then Russell T Davis destroyed him in the last few. Matt Smith is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@imgonnahurtugood Agree man, Matt Smith is amazin, breathed new life into the role. Although personally I thought that Davis's annihilation of Doctor Who began much earlier - seasons 3 and 4 were mostly terrible (Blink and Midnight notwithstanding). By the specials I'd all but given up (only watched the End of Time, which Rassilon saved). But decided to give Smith a go and I love the show again! Colin Baker, Hartnell and a whole new thing all combined in one!
Realy though after so many episodes "its so sad"just remember after so much history with Rose Martha Donna so the last thing ill say is so many episodes.
@BrunnerzTube well they've gotta sort out their terrible Audio levels first! i wanna hear what he's saying without some overdramatic music blaring out :P
I think Tennant chose the right Moment to leave - when people would still cry over it. (He said himself that he wanted to leave while it was still fun and people wouldn't scream for him to leave already)
And hey, if thing had gone a little differently, they might not have cast the walking Mass of Awesome that is Matt Smith as his sucessor. Love his eyes, such a rare color...
When he sees Rose run up the steps at 1:41, it's horrible because he's thinking I know what comes after I've seen all my friends...and that scene where the Tardis flies away from the earth in a lonely manner chokes me up everytime..
this was on bbc 3 last night and I still got all teared up
the emotion that was put into the last two episodes was heartbreaking to watch Davids Doctor went through hell in his last three episodes which made his departure all the more poignant
There will never be another Doctor like David Tennant he was the perfect choice for the role and is the best actor of our generation.
Good luck to M\att Smith though he is young and will bring something new as all other doctors have before him
matt smith isnt as convincing as the doctor than david tennant, i think what could have made it better is the doctor clicking his fingers to open the doors of the tardis like on the ond of the libary part 2
@srmcd1 I thought exactly the same thing when he was about to regenerate. It would've been a lot more appropriate instead of those sad words. Ah well. Dr 10-gotta love'im!
I have watched the Series 5 trailer enough times to feel comfortable and excited for Matt Smith's run. I think he'll do a fantastic job, I haven't witnessed a 'bad Doctor'. However then I watch this scene again and cry...again. That final line is just heartwrenching.
"I don't wanna a go!" makes me cry every time!

after 13, he should say
''13? nah, i meant 30... ''

@DHD999 The Master (in the old series) was able to get a new body with fresh regenerations, so the Doctor certainly can as well

@aneutralviewer I think RTD began to annihilate DW when he began to force more 'Captain Jack' things into DW. It wasn't needed.
But can you honestly exclude The Library two parter and the Family of Blood from your list?

same :)
mind you i watched tennants penultimate one and that was pretty awesome :D
