That is SO on the money, Burt! One doesn't know how much one is suffering until one wakes up! Man, I was SO self-absorbed in the mind-stream it just terrifies me now when I think back on the ego-identified state before my awakening.. it is truly hell. Thanks for your distillations and dissertations; always a warm, caring feeling from you.
It is true about the sadness.. for me it was about knowing there was something 'else'.. but I couldn't find it.. because I was always looking 'outside'.. then the sadness arises from the death of the ego.. and all of a sudden, the beauty once seen through these eyes has diminished, because, in essence, it is all the same.. once the ego dies completely, then that sadness goes because the Love fills every void and every question.. then emotions become 'waves'.. coming and going :like clouds:
this is true. What most people i see don't realize is that even though there seems to be "I AM NESS" what nisargadatta spoke of, it does not mean there there "is an I", or the "I-thought"/"I-controller".
hi burt. i remember reading a story about a woman who dealt so badly with the loss of her father, she was admitted to a mental ward. the course of e.c.t. she had affected her sufficiently for her to 'forget' the loss, but just before discharging her, the hospital staff told her her dad had died. understandable that they had to, i guess, but the who process seemed incredibly cruel. maybe it something in the west we're not great at? thanks. john.
