It is NOT, was NOT a rock song. To fully understand the meaning and emotion of this beautiful song you need to see the film and scene in which it is featured. The scene centers on Slim Pickens death scene. Moving, and heart rending as Dylan intended. Avril's cover is much closer to the true spirit of the song than Guns & Roses.
