I'm just getting interested in raw foods and watching videos to get ideas.
My favorite breakfast right now is pizza. :) I grind fresh: wheat, rice and beans into flour. Add yeast, sea salt and a spoon of ghee. If I have sprouts, I will add those to the mixed dough.
Pizza toppings can be anything, I use a little cheese, lots of onions, bell peppers, olives. Bake it on a stone in the bbq'er. I can eat on this for days. Fresh tomato slices on top are good while it's still hot.
I like to make vegan rice pudding by using leftover brown rice in the rice cooker, some coconut and almond milk and lots of cinnamon and organic rasinins.
hello ors i go back to bowl to boat hull. very good for teeth as molybdenum 2 by green beans hued imbued air dried or dripped. this intact can soften simultaneously not just similar in bender. water's mine not drain's then. agree unbottled is less sugar because w/ pulp etc. spikable sugar's found sun sensitive like no fat burner connected. sproutable's balkable by dose to stop being in backwoods w/ perse. yard dish w/ nettles breaking it down isn't just yardeyardeyar. watch stiil not just crank~
Wheat berries, Oat groats, buckwheat groats, millet, spelt berries, rye berries, and amaranth (or whatever grain you like/have equaling about 1/2 cup) all soaked for 8 hours then sprouted for 8+ hours; add walnuts, brazil nuts (any nuts), 1 cut-up banana, couple dates, and then covered in raw almond/coconut milk. Breakfast of CHAMPIONS!
You can also eat a basic blended salad (tomatoes, some dark green veggies, and cucumber), and the great thing about blended salads is that you can add the strong herbs while just enhancing its taste. So definitely add garlic! And eat it with any sprouts that works for you. Try mung beans or some lentil sprouts.
It is essential that you learn to make the right breakfasts for the days activities. So you might just have a jar of juice if you just have to stay focused that day.
Cabbage and orange juice! So easy to make if you have the specific tools, also juice some green leaves or wheat-grass with the cabbage!
And if you want something more filling: make a fruit sauce (try orange juice, apples and apricots just to get you the idea), and eat it with buckwheat, wheat, or alfalfa sprouts. And top it with some green leaves -- no breakfast is complete without the greens!
And if you have a though day ahead: add some coconut, sunflower/almond sauce to the previous idea.
Sorry guys, but a super smoothie/slushy is my breakfast every day! With fresh pineapple, kiwi, kale, young spinach, hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, and frozen bananas, blueberries and strawberries!

OK, I made this recipe but I left out the cinnamon. It was super bitter and I wasn't about to add more agave. Does the cinnamon really cancel out the BITTER?
(I'm fairly new to raw foods) Do you think I could soak quinoa over night and use that instead of buckwheat? Sorry if this sounds ridiculous. I'm 14, & have never tried buckwheat in my life but I'm guessing it's comparable to quinoa. :-)
i've made this many times... went through probably a 5kg bag of raw buckwheat by now.
I think this recipe is way too sweet. I used to add this much sugar but felt terrible and sluggish aftera f ew hours. Now i add 1 banana for about 300-500g of buckwheat with a little salt and a some superfoods like acai. I've also added wheat grass powder, lemon and a teaspoon of peanut butter before. Its amazingly good.
I am eating raw whole foods ONLY for the next 3 months as I have become very ill. I have also done a lot of research on sweeteners ans Agave is NOT good for you!!
My favorite breakfast is grated apple in a bowl covered with granola. To make it extra special, top with a "vanilla creme" made with soaked cashews, dates, water and vanilla. Yum. My 2 year old granddaughter calls it apple pie!
my favourite raw breakfast is blackberry ice cream : 1 cup blackberries mashed to remove the seeds then frozen, 1 frozen banana, a few table spoons nut milk, a pinch of cinnamon. Yum.
This might be a bit obscure: Organic orange squeezed with a bit of the zest, and flesh in a cup. Add your favorite bee pollen and soak for a few minutes, then a scoop of raw cacao powder, a scoop of barley grass powder, ginkgo leaf, arjuna bark powder, & ashwaganda. Quarter teaspoon of stevia powder if its not sweet enough. Stir into a paste and eat with a teaspoon.
You don't have use all those powdered ingredients, just improvise. Orange can be replaced with blended papaya.
I eat kefir which I make from raw goats milk (organic) to that I add bee pollen to help with my allergies, then I add ground flax seeds and chia seeds. I mix that all up and add bluberries and buckwheat which I have soaked over night then add cinnamon . lol seem like a lot ....
I'm 80% raw right now (1 out of 5 of my meals is cooked; dinner). The raw diet is pretty amazing. You feel soooo great. When I eat cooked foods I get real lethargic and mucus-y. But I don't think I can go 100% raw because I can't give up my stir-fried tofu. It's too delicious.
Thanks for the idea guys, but I must say, the aftertaste of the "Buckwheat Porridge" is somewhat like toothpaste. :S ... Strange. I guess I'll just add some flavourings like cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla, etc. Plus my usual morning blueberries. =)
So is this is not just regular buckwheat like in the bins @ wholefoods? I saw you were saying something about toxic? How do I prepare the buckwheat that you were using? Also what brand food processor do you use?
He said to get from organic places, especially from those who sell organic seeds for sprouting. You will find many many websites for sprouting, google 'sprout/s'.
I think Ann Marie used Cuisinart ummmm 5 cup or 9 cup (I forgot), cuz it looks exactly the same like I have.
Just the bottom of the plate is all you guys are having? I'd be starving myself if I ate these amounts :S

Can soaking buckwheat overnight in MILK instead of water, also reduce it's phytic acid?
How does it compare with oatmeal in terms of soluble fiber & magnesium?

raw oat meal. I make like you did the buck wheat and add cocoa and banana.

So with the blended salad and the fruit sauce, you can be extremely creative, and just add ingredients that you feel that your body needs.
And you can store the fruit sauce in a great jug, and just make it every third day or so.

Right now I make apple sauce every morning with coconut chips on top. We had so much fruit produced from our trees this year.
my apple sauce: 3 medium apples with peel, one satsuma whole, 2 or 3 fresh dates and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of cardamom.

What is wrong with a small bowl of Total with some milk or H&H with a sliced banana on it? Takes about 45 seconds to make and no mess to clean up.

i love buckwheat porridge too.
how much is too much of a good thing.
i could eat a cup a day (before soaking), everyday. i try to sprout it for 1 day if i can risist eating it immediately.
am trying to keep the weight off though!
did you classify it as a green?
starflower666 3 years ago
No, he incorrectly called it a grain. It is, however, a seed.
