  • its an alien lol...or sea monster..........i dont know anymore.

  • what did you used to record the video?

  • Its a MAP!

  • ITS A TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPP!

  • @bl0115 ITS A CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPP!

  • Zbrush dosnt work for me.. weird enough..

  • Couldn't you do most of this in Blender with the sculpt tool? I just got started using Blender for anything more than basic tests, so I don't know really anything about the sculptor, bt from what I see here, doesn't look too different.

  • @TheFXGuy Some of it yes, but Zbrush was tailored for the purpose of JUST sculpting whereas blender is used for everything, blender sculpting is more time consuming and a lot of the tools lag more.

  • It's a trap!

  • @MarkArandjus Ha lol Ackbar

  • @MarkArandjus haha yeah i thought of that too

  • haha nice XD

  • i noticed you missed number 3 :/

  • lol

  • how did you get to the rough texture deal at 2 minutes

  • it's an alphamap

  • to me it looks like an old womens pussy

  • get a wacom tablet! thats how I solved my confusion.

  • if you have max, maya or your an animator, you're crazy not to have this program, its amazing and makes modeling So fast and easy

  • what if you suck at using it

  • practice

  • but sculpting with hands is more fun to look at because you have all these tools like a pro. You could create everything with a computer, I play the piano without learning for years only 1 week, just by writting scripts to a program. but I miss the fun of playing it with hard work

  • LOLWUT

  • heeeeey... its commander squid from starwars.

    ITS A TRAP

  • o.o Voxell modeling is gawdly. my dad sells modeling system using voxell modeling, but again, its fairly expensive.

  • looks like one of those things from the last starfighter in a way.. zandozan or something.

  • I was thinking the same thing! Haha! SO obscure now!

The monsters in that movie were pretty creepy.

  • Is that "only a test"???

    MY GOD...

Where do you live, i need to steal this ability from you.. I MUST HAVE IT...

    haha

  • IT"S A TRAAAP!

IT's admiral akbar, right? you forgot the whiskers xD

  • It's a trap?

  • lol, that's exactly what I thought when I viewed this.

  • That looks amazing for real time modeling. o_o

  • I was using ZBrush, i've to try it, it's easy and awesome to use ;)

  • were is the ZBrush located?

  • Uh ? I don't understand the question :( [i'm a french boy, i'm not a boss in english ^^]

  • Apparently neither is he. I think he means where do you download it.

This is the first time I've seen ZBrush and I love it. I wonder if this is what id used to make Doom 3...?

  • Mmmh, i don't mind...

ZBrush 3d's models are in full polygon reliefs, it's an hard job to make a bump mapping after modeling in ZBrush...

When you done a heavy mesh in ZBrush, you can export it to 3ds Max, but it's REALLY slow ^^"

You can work with 1,5,50 billions poly in ZBrush easily, not in 3ds Max (mainly used to games models...)

To download ZBrush, I think that google is your best friend (:

  • If it's hard to make bump maps, then is it a good idea to use ZBrush to make models for Half-Life 2? Maybe if you import the model into another program, like 3ds Max, you can make bump maps?

  • I guess you've to try ;)

    There's also XSI, or Maya ! ;)

  • Zbrush makes up way too many polygons for games, especially the Source Engine.

Also bump mapping is first done as a texture, then assigned to a model, it would be hard to assign the bump map, to a model with so many... uhh... "bumps" on the model.

  • I think you dont understand how it works...

You make a low poly model and start detailing that model subdivion level by subdivision level.

Yes, at the end you end up with millions of poly's... BUT, the good stuff is that you can export the difference between the highly subdivided/sculpted model and the low poly model as a normal-, bump- or displacement map.

  • Yes you can, thats what makes this such a cool tool in the first place :)

But why a simple bumpmap? Normal maps are much better ;)

  • Is Zbrush free?

  • not

    at

    all

something like 700+ dollars (correct me if im wrong)

  • 500

  • 8S

    holy crap!!!

  • it's as free as everything else on the internet.

  • Were can I buy ZBrush? :)

  • google - download.

unless your stupid enough to waste money.

  • you right

  • @nebukam He means Where can you find ZBrush?

  • Making bump maps may be hard but making normal maps (they are a form of bump map, but different) is rediculously easy in ZBrush, it has become the industry standard for normal map creation infact. I believe Doom3 was made with Maya and ZBrush (ZBrush has no animation or rigging features so another application is still required)

Also, 'billions' of polys is a bit of an exaduration, for those who have never used it, 10mill is fairly high, my PC can only get 3mill, billions i unrealistic

  • thats really cool. I use maya with the sculpt geo tool but that is nuts. keep it up
