I still wish they had cool variety shows like this on nowadays, theres just something...I dunno comfy about them kinda like you really can go home and enjoy yourself and tune into something for an hour and be completely entertained.
this is awesome i just wish i had watched it growing up because i dont remember watching this as a kid but i agree they should have this out on dvd more then enough people would buy it i def would
I am very impressed with how everything was spliced together--if i hadn't grown up watching solid gold, i would have thought that it was all the same song :-)
Thanks for revealing who the announcer was for Solid Gold in Concert. I had no clue who it was, when I checked IMDB - his name is not listed AND the only copy of SGiC I have has a station promo announcement covering over his name!! Thanks for solving my personal mystery!!
John Harlan was primarily a game show announcer, having announced on "Password" in the 1970's, "The $100,000 Name That Tune" in 1984-85, and as a substitute for Rod Roddy on "Press Your Luck."
Thanks! I appreciate your comments and ratings!! It is good to see others interested in what I once thought was my own personal "guilty pleasure"! Glad you are enjoying them!
Thanks! I could've done alot better (with volume inconsistancies, but I am just learning how to use the WAV editor). But believe me from the 1st rough cut, this is gazillion times better! I learn something new everytime!
Does anyone have the intro to the daily syndicated version "Solid Gold Hits"?

I remember this show from when I was in elementary school. Dionne Warwick could really sing back then.

Agreed, something that is missing in the sea of "reality" tv shows.
