  • up blakmore

  • Blackmore fanatics, get your facts straight, Blackmore WAS great. He was brilliant in the 70's and till' the end of the 'Perfect Strangers' tour in 1985. In 1987 and onwards with Deep Purple...I have hardly heard so uninpisring and bored playing. He played rubbish and was unpredictable on stage, refusing to perform encores. After 1993, the band was better off without him. Satriani outdid Blackmore's playing in 1993 and 1994 with style.

  • Less of a fact and more of an opinion !!

  • Satch first bailed out DP in the mid 80s when Rtichie Blackmore walked out in mid tour. Satch declined to join on a permanent basis because he wanted to do his own thing. Nice to see he still gets together with DP from time to time. I think DP owes Satch several times over.

  • blackmore is deep purple but satriani is god...better than morse

  • Definitely more technically inclined.

    Steve is great though.

  • que tal reemplazo !!! gran guitarrista por otro gran guitarrista ....bien carajo

  • Blackmore is the best

  • yeaaaaahhhh he's the best hey please somebodu knows what is the name of that DVD

  • @jethroboogie A little late but just saw your post. The album was "Flying on a Purple Dream".

  • satch is the man!

  • If only what? I have the DVD of his fiorst show in Japan with them.

  • Satriani in Japan '93 would be correct. He joined to help them fulfil their commitments over there. A shame none of the live recordings from this line-up can be officially released, a real shame.

  • better than when steve morse
