Oh, and they're are both as creative as each other, equally. Both JJ and JW put out such rich and fully-formed productions, they are very much matched for this panel (with one exception... man, Whedon can talk the hind-legs off a donkey!).

This was one of the highlights of the Con for me - I cheered and clapped my hands raw all day, stayed there for this, then tapped out before Sly and The Expendables came out (dude, I'd been down Hall H since 4.30am... I was knackered!!!)

I don't want to get flagged or be insulting but I honestly don't understand why JJ Abrams gets to sit next to the God that is Joss Whedon and pretend he's on his level. Are ya kiddin'? JJ is and always has been the poor man's Whedon, I thought that was kinda universally agreed lol.

@LeopoldStotchRules I think Whedon, who is really hit and miss with his productions, is an over rated ego inflated dick. Just watch the intro interview on Serenity. He is a pervert, I'm just waiting for Eliza to be cast as wasp in the Avengers and her costume to be VERY revealing. They should have given his X-men as Whedons run on that was good as it was a subject matter he is good at i.e kids in 'sexy' costumes at a school. He won't pull off the Avengers, but i'd love to be wrong.

I remember I read an article in Empire magazine a few years ago where they described Joss as Apple and JJ as Microsoft - Microsoft sucks and Apple is so much better but for some reason, people at large want the suck. It's like how 20 million morons watch Grey's Anatomy when hardly anyone watches Friday Night Lights. The majority are usually retards.

Buffy sucked after the 2nd season, Angel tried to play it straight and then realized it was shit turned into a shit comedy. Firefly was good... the film wasn't that good. Dollhouse was a mess... JJ=Fringe, Lost, Alias, Clovefield, Star Trek... Nuff said... oh and apple suck... go play CoDMW2... Oh wait you can't.

@allanpalmer12345 Leaving the whole 'Microsoft vs Apple' references aside (I was there during 'Commodore vs Atari', you don't know what it was like, ma-aaaan, you don't know... *best vietnam vet voice*)... The reason why the 6,500 people in the room were stoked for JW taking on the reins of The Avengers is, given that his output can be hit-and-miss, when he does hit, he hits huge! As he has said in an DVD extra, he doesn't make stuff for people to like - he makes stuff for people to *love*.

Firefly is his textbook example of this, Dr. Horrible is another, Buffy to some degree (although you're right, when he stepped back from being a full showrunner for seasons 3-5, the show took a hit, but I still maintain there's stuff to like in the final couple of seasons...). It's why the queues will be round the block when The Avengers comes out - to see which side of this polarised coin the film lands on. If fortune smiles, then that film will be very good indeed!
