good morning,, we are a Colombian company that works with stainless steel and we would be interested in a cnc plasma cutter format of 3005 mm x 1530 mm cutting 3 mm thick stainless steel ... you make us a quote without the commitment of this team,,, thank you very much good day industrialinoxidable@hotmail.c¬om mail
puys in a flashlight with aa batterys there it turns on in half a secound dims and in 1 secound it runs out of batters crap thats way they said to get the charger :P
@VettemanC4R Long term laser is better because being the tube holds out, the laser uses less power around 800W compared to around 5,000W from a plasma cutter, it's a much better cut, and there are no electrodes to use up.
nice, just b cairful with sumtin dat powerful lol, still remember wut happened 2 a friend of mine, got his hand in front of 1 of those things, never got it bak... but dat was like 9 years ago lol

i dun laugh, dats kinda y i said b cairful, i said lol cz it was such a long time ago dat i dun even remember how it happened, all i kno, is he was woking with dat cutting thing, nd sumtin went wrong... i didnt say lol cz of wut happened 2 him...
With just 400W you do that to the steel?, it seems 3mm steel plate, wow. Then with that power you can cut a person easy, jaja be careful. It remembers me the movie Congo.
You can build your own CO2 laser if you have a little knowledge with high vacuum systems, H.V. and glass blowing. Google it and you will find the info.
I am looking for a laser cutter to cut upto 3 mm thick inox or SS steel, I have my own cnc gantry set up on plasma, but wouldlike to go in for a laser cutter also, but dont know where to find it at affordable price. can you help.
Contact Synrad and see if they have some lasers from customers who have upgraded equipment.
If you have NO experience with lasers and high voltage power supplies and try to piece one together from parts you'll probably end up spending more money trying to find the right parts than just buying a used laser with low hours.
Remember, just because the beam can't be seen doesn't mean it's not there. Specular reflections can cause immediate eye damage. Wear the proper goggles.
pmgodfrey is on the mark...but the real answer is that you cannot cut 3mm SS "affordably" with a laser. You should need 400 watts minimum and really should be using 1,000 watts+. If you aren't making a lot of money from your cuts, it is not practical to do it with laser.
ok first of all I made that comment months ago, i don't know what loser looks through several months of comments, just to call other people losers, and second of all i don't know how to tell sarcasm IN TEXT FORM.........douche
they do with helicopters and planes. but not to kill other drivers, they do it to shoot down nuclear missiles. and those take unbelievable amounts of power. with our current technology it takes a very large space to hold all the batteries that it takes to shoot them.
Sci Fi films set everything wrong and stupid in terms of battle with laser guns. What lose time trying to shout by single shootings, instead of use a cutting laser to hurt several persons in a single moviment?
computer PSU wouldn't work, you need a high voltage low current supply to lase CO2, entirely the opposite of a CPU, and something like this would probably have more trouble cutting thru you than it would steel
LOL can it pop a balloon, a class 3B can pop a balloon even from a considerable distance, this is a class 4 on steroids (500mW+ is class 4 and this is 800 times what qualifies a laser for class 4 status).
the class of laser has nothing to do wit the power, its given a class regarding to the damage that the laser can cause to the body under NORMAL opperating coditions, a 3.5kW laser can be classes as a class 1 laser if it is enclosed when it is been used, 150mW could be a class 4 if the lasers is open
-stevenlap- I've seen your starling comments before - I take it you just don't like them do you.... :) ....especially when 500 of them pile up in a small bush outside your front door.
But I do now... I made a DVD-based labby, TEC cooled, using a SenKat group buy diode from LaserPointerForums. Its only ~200mW, but it can cut tape in less than 2 seconds.
i have a bunch of synrad lasers that say model 48-2SAL serial 2471,what do you think these are worth?

could someone explain how this is more cost effective compared to just using a plasma cutter?
VettemanC4R 3 years ago
Laser is not more cost effective if the quality of a plasma cut will do. But if you need to cut with fine edge you will see the gains.
iyvind 3 years ago

probably not glass is see-through so it would'nt absorb any light energy what is used as heat energy to cut.

thats plasma and thats not for sale u idiots the only 1s who have it are factories or sciense labs that test plasma and laser effects
mercanaries3 3 years ago
- @ mercanaries3 -
It's difficult to understand what you said because it was all one sentence.
That IS a CO2 laser, it IS NOT a plasma cutter.
I can afford a 400 watt CO2 tube and you probably could too.
Plasma cutters - another affordable alternative for $1,000.
Laser effects? I'm your man for that. I have lots of lasers at the house. Several blues, greens and reds and a couple of RGB projectors.
And it's spelled "science" not "sciense". You should have stayed in "skool".
