    OMG, HOW TALL IS HE?!

i'd definetly been a dwarf compared to him, that's all i can say

  • Subtle phallic imagery at 2:23

  • some amazing voice acting from peter o'toole here.

  • I idolize this guy.

  • ......after watching this clip i just noticed that his room is in the shape of a coffin.....this guy just went on a whole new level of evil.....

  • @deathgod08 did you also notice that the back of his typewriter is a skull??

  • ANTON EGO IS E.V.I.L

  • I think Anton Ego was a bit too sophisticated a character for little kids. I mean, when I was watching this with my seven year old niece, she asked me, "What's perspective?" And she sure didn't get the "Monsieur Boyardee" joke either lol.

  • @mydog8u2 I disagree. I like how, as you mentioned, it raised questions from your niece. Films don't have to be "educational" to culture learning.

  • @NeroBlack2200 Good point. 'Indirect' culture-learning like coming across jokes you don't get is a good way of familiarising yourself with that culture. I absolutely LOVED Ratatouille, but from my personal observation, little kids seemed to appreciate it less than the older ones did.

  • @mydog8u2 I understand entirely. My perspective, to put it in a less gaudy form, is that I prefer they make films that whet curiosity rather than pander to a perceived level of intelligence. Anton *is* very sophisticated, I agree. But I don't think that means its inappropriate for children, just not as readily accessible.

Also, my use of the word "culture" was out of place. I meant it more in-line with "encourage" or "stimulate".

  • @NeroBlack2200

All very much like when I was 6 when Toy Story came out and was confused as to why Woody called Buzz Lightyear "Buzz Light Beer"!

But in seriousness, I agree with what you're saying. Some of the other humor, however, really is just there to keep adults as amused as the children. For instance, when Linguine says "I have this tiny, little... little..." and Collette glances down, presumably at his crotch. Or in Toy Story 2 when Jessie gets Buzz excited and his wings pop open :)

  • @Rotard12a More or less, yeah. For a personal experience, when I was a kid I learned what "placate", "squeamish", and "hypocrite" meant when they cropped up during a conversation in 'Dragonheart' and I asked about them.

  • I love how Ego checks the bottle @ 0:39 after spitting out some of the wine to see whether or not it was worth swallowing the rest.

  • Ahhh is there ever a villian more conniving then a critic. No sense of humor, drab outlook on life, wayyyy to hard to please and completely wrapped up in themself.

  • How can it be...

    POPPULARR?

  • "Gusteau has finally found his rrrightful place in history right alongside another equally famous chef... Monsieur Boyardee." lol!

  • har har

he is the chef who makes can foods.

  • he reminds me of some villains/villain

but i can't put my finger on who

  • @lotten16

  • "Pray you don't disappoint me..."

    Ha ha, so badass.
