  • The red/white train isnt dutch (dutch trains are blue/yellow). its an international train between the netherlands and france.

some dutch trains have ugly interior (the older models). the newer ones look better

  • @TheCentrix : I saw the fast express at Gare Du Nord last year on a daytrip to Paris. I like the double decker trains best in the Netherlands.

  • Brilliant video.

I was working in Wassenaar in 2003 for just over two months. Had a great time exploring all the regional attractions. On our days off we would visit Rijnsberg and all the local towns, and I was just completely blown away by the whole experience. The Netherlands is often eclipsed by Germany's reputation for efficiency of publc transport. But the Dutch are a very close second.

  • I have to say I have only been on the German system once. It was the classic journey along the Rhine from Frankfurt to Cologne. You should try the Swiss and Japaneese rail systems. Outstanding!

  • The Dutch rail system is impressive. It was easy to take my bike around and I was able to leave the car (I needed that to carry back beer to England and carry all my gear). I understand the new high speed link opens between Amsterdam and Brussels this December and I saw some of the line driving up from Antwerp. Will ride it some day.

  • I was born in Baarn in '58. Dutch Oma. American raised. It's nice to see a train from my youth still in service at 0:31. They were green then. Last time I was there was in '92. All the modern trains now look so space age (in a good way).

  • Greetings,

    So-called Materieel 1964!

    Now being phased out rapidly.

Replacing trainsets look very smart with sophisticated hotel-lobby like interior, come over and check them out!

  • Thanks...I have been a bit lazy here. Won't change it, its just a bit of fun for Dutch Train fans.

  • Nice clip!

Middleburg is spelled Middelburg in Dutch.
